• Save or output WebBrowser object context to .pdf file in VB.NET

  I am loading an html page into a WebBrowser object in a VB.NET Windows Forms application. The user may make changes to textboxes, dropdowns, etc. on the HTML page displayed in the browser. I want the ability to save the current context to a .pdf file on the local HD. I am able to print using WebBrowser.Print(), which shows the current context, but what ways are possible to get this saved as a PDF file locally?

  I need to create a configuration file from a data file that looks as follows: MAN1_TIME '01-JAN-2010 00:00:00.0000 UTC' MAN1_RX 123.45 MAN1_RY 123.45 MAN1_RZ 123.45 MAN1_NEXT 'MAN2' MAN2_TIME '01-MAR-2010 00:00:00.0000 UTC' MAN2_RX 123.45 [...] MAN2_NEXT 'MANX' [...] MANX_TIME [...] This file describes different "legs" of a trajectory. In this case, MAN1 is chained to MAN2, and MAN2 to MANX. In the original file, the chains are not as obvious (i.e., they are non-sequential). I've managed to read the file and store in an Sqlite3 database (I'm using the Python interface). The table is stored with three columns: Id, Par, and Val; for instance, Id='MAN1', Par='RX', and Val='123.45'. I'm interested in querying such database for obtaining the information related to 'n' legs. In English, that would be: "Select RX,RY,RZ for the next five legs starting on MAN1" So the query would go to MAN1, retrieve RX, RY, RZ, then read the parameter NEXT and go to that Id, retrieve RX, RY, RZ; read the parameter NEXT; go to that one ... like this five times. How can I pass such query with "dynamic parameters"? Thank you.

• Java Sound API: Capturing sound output from a Target Port

  I'm writing a simple piece of software that streams audio over LAN. I have all of the network parts implemented, but what I'm stumbling on is using the Java Sound API. I have successfully captured audio from the microphone, and line-in, but I can't seem to capture from any target ports, like the speakers. My question is, is it possible to capture from the Master target port? Here is the piece of code that works on initializing the line. private boolean startCapture(){ try{ DataLine.Info info = new DataLine.Info( TargetDataLine.class, format); line = (TargetDataLine)AudioSystem.getLine(info); audioBuffer = new byte[bufferSize]; line.open(format); line.start(); return true; }catch(Exception e){ System.out.println("Exception thrown when capturing audio:\n" + e); return false; } } Running the code like this will just use the microphone as my line. • SOLR phrase query

  I have a slight problem when searching with SOLR 4.0 and attempting a phrase query. I have a field called "idx_text_general_ci" which is a case insensitive (all lowercased) field made up of all fields. When I try and search for a phrase (marine fitter) my SOLR refuses to search for the phrase instead splitting the phrase into 2 words - /select?defType=edismax&q=idx_text_general_ci:marine%20fitter&debugQuery=true debugQuery=true output below: <lst name="debug"> <str name="rawquerystring">idx_text_general_ci:marine fitter</str> <str name="querystring">idx_text_general_ci:marine fitter</str> <str name="parsedquery"> (+(idx_text_general_ci:marine DisjunctionMaxQuery((id:fitter))))/no_coord </str> <str name="parsedquery_toString">+(idx_text_general_ci:marine (id:fitter))</str> As you can see above it splits the query into 2 parts (idx_text_general_ci:marine then id:fitter). THe problem I have is that I have an exact match for "marine fitter" that appears twice in the idx_text_general_ci field yet it's ranked with a lesser score than a document with the word "marine" appearing 3 times. I know this will not be the case if my SOLR was to search the field with the phrase as expected. If I wrap the phrase in quotes I get zero results. Any help or a nudge in the right direction would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance Alex

  I want to ask bash how it would complete a string as if I had typed it in a shell and hit tab. For example, if I type ls /[TAB][TAB] I see the list of files and dirs in / that could possibly complete the ls command. How do I ask bash how it would complete 'ls /' without typing it and hitting tab? I want something like: query_complete 'partial command line string' I read the man page for complete and compgen, but couldn't figure out how to do it with them. Note: 'ls /' is not the actual command I'm interested in, just an example. I am looking for a general solution for any arbitrary string representing a partial command line.

  I have an Entity Framework 4.0 Entity Object called Revision w/ Nullable DateEffectiveFrom and DateEffectiveTo dates.   I hope I am not missing something very simple here. I have done a Google search(es) and searched through stackoverflow. Here is the situation: For simplicity's sake let's say I have a table called "PeoplesDocs", in a SQL Server 2008 DB, that holds a bunch of people and all the documents that they own. So one person can have several documents. I also have a table called "RequiredDocs" that simply holds all the documents that a person should have. Here is sort of what it looks like: PeoplesDocs: PersonID DocID -------- ----- 1 A 1 B 1 C 1 D 2 C 2 D 3 A 3 B 3 C RequiredDocs: DocID DocName ----- --------- A DocumentA B DocumentB C DocumentC D DocumentD How do I write a SQL query that returns some variation of: PersonID MissingDocs -------- ----------- 2 DocumentA 2 DocumentB 3 DocumentD I have tried, and most of my searching has pointed to, something like: SELECT DocID FROM DocsRequired WHERE NOT EXIST IN ( SELECT DocID FROM PeoplesDocs) but obviously this will not return anything in this example because everyone has at least one of the documents. Also, if a person does not have any documents then there will be one record in the PeoplesDocs table with the DocID set to NULL. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide, Ben

• Extract a pattern from the output of curl

  I would like to use curl, on the command line, to grab a url, pipe it to a pattern, and return a list of urls that match that pattern. I am running into problems with greedy aspects of the pattern, and can not seem to get past it. Any help on this would be apprecaited. curl http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/ | grep -ioE "http://imgur\.com/.+(jpg|jpeg|gif|png)" So, grab the data from the url, which returns a mess of html, which may need some linebreaks somehow replaced in, onless the regex can return more than one pattern in a single line. The patter is pretty simple, any string that matches... starts with http://imgur.com/ has A-Z a-z 0-9 (maybe some others) and is so far, 5 chars long, 8 should cover it forever if I wanted to limit that aspect of the patter, which I don't ends in a .grraphic_file_format_extention (jpg, jpeg, gif, png) Thats about it, at that url, with default settings, I should generally get back a good set of images. I would not be objectionable to using the RSS feel url for the same page, it may be easier to parse actually. Thanks everyone!

  I am trying to query an XML document that uses namespaces. I have had success with xpath without namespaces, but no results with namespaces. This is a basic example of what I was trying. I have condensed it slightly, so there may be small issues in my sample that may detract from my actual problem. Sample XML: <?xml version="1.0"?> <sf:page> <sf:section> <sf:layout> <sf:p>My Content</sf:p> </sf:layout> </sf:section> </sf:page> Sample PHP Code: <?php $path = "index.xml"; $content = file_get_contents($path); $dom = new DOMDocument($content); $xpath = new DOMXPath($dom); $xpath->registerNamespace('sf', "http://developer.apple.com/namespaces/sf"); $p = $xpath->query("//sf:p", $dom); My result is that "p" is a "DOMNodeList Object ( )" and it's length is 0. • Cropping an image, saving output to a new file and get crop coordinates

  I'm interfacing with a service that allows you to upload an image, and also upload coordinates of a thumbnail of that image. I'm thinking that (if there isn't some sort of prefab Activity specifically for this) that I can use Android's crop utility. The only problem is that I can't overwrite the original file, the crop window needs to have a custom message (instead of "crop image"), and I'll need the coordinates of the crop. Is this possible? Is there another way to do this without writing my own Activity?

• Creating a fixed length output string with sprintf containing floats

  Hi, I'm trying to create a file which has the following structure: - Each line has 32 bytes - Each line looks like this format string: "%10i %3.7f %3.7f\n" My Problem is the following: When i have a negative floating point numbers the line gets longer by one or even two characters because the - sign does not count to the "%3.7f". • Neither IE or Firefox respects the control values that are output

  I'm writing a survey designer asp.net mvc. It has buttons to move questions up and down. The buttons post the whole form back and the affected questions are swapped on the server. When the form returns the only thing that is changed are the values for each survey question. Both firefox and IE seem to ignore this change. Nothing is persisted to the database (until save) and url doesn't change so the post just returns the same view but I've stepped through my code to ensure the sequence of values being rendered in the view reflects the swap which is ok. However "view - source" doesn't show the change suggesting caching issue (maybe auto complete). I've tried autocomplete="off" in my form. Response.Cache.SetNoStore(); in my global.asax [System.Web.Mvc.OutputCache(NoStore = true, Duration = 0, VaryByParam = "*")] before my controller and the following in my page header NOTHING!!! This must be real common. Anyone got a clue?

  I have an Observable and an Observer. The observable does download some stuff in a background thread and calls notifyObservers to let the observers read the status. At some point in public void update the observer tries to updates the GUI ((TextView)findViewById('R.id.foo')).setText("bar"); but it seems like the observable thread calls this method, because the Observable (!!!) throws this: android.view.ViewRoot$CalledFromWrongThreadException: Only the original thread that created a view hierarchy can touch its views. at android.view.ViewRoot.checkThread(ViewRoot.java:2462) at android.view.ViewRoot.requestLayout(ViewRoot.java:512) ... at com.mynamespace.acitivty.TrackActivity.startPlay(TrackActivity.java:72) at com.mynamespace.acitivty.TrackActivity.update(TrackActivity.java:107) at java.util.Observable.notifyObservers(Observable.java:147) at java.util.Observable.notifyObservers(Observable.java:128) at com.mynamespace.module.communication.Download.stateChanged(Download.java:213) at com.mynamespace.module.communication.Download.run(Download.java:186) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:1058) Is there some way I can prevent this from happening?   Hi, Excuse my limited knoweldge here. In the past I have used Steve Sanderson's method to HTML encode by default at runtime: http://blog.stevensanderson.com/2007/12/19/aspnet-mvc-prevent-xss-with-automatic-html-encoding/ I have a need to alter img src and a href attributes before they are spat out in the user's browser. There is a solution using JavaScript but this is not ideal for several reasons. Intercepting the compiler is not an option because of unnecessarily using Response.Write for trivial HTML. Is there something I can do with HTTP modules or the view engine? Any thoughts? Cheers.

  I have a problem with my self-coded template system. The content is inserted by Include(). Now I need to add a meta redirect to one page. I know, meta redirect is not the safest way, but I need it because of it's delay possibility. Now i'm looking for a way to influence the wrapping page (template) by the wrapped page (content). Is there a way to make the function echo in the line of the function itself? In this case above the horizontal rule, not below?   Hello, To illustrate my problem, TEST="Hi my name is John" OUTP=`echo $TEST | awk '{print $3}'` echo $OUTP What I would expect this to do is pass the $TEST variable into awk and store the 3rd word into $OUTP. Instead I get "Hi: not found", as if it is expecting the input to be a file. If I pass just a string instead of a variable, however, there is no problem. What would be the best way to approach this?
