  • Best way to author man pages?

    - by vy32
What's the best way to author man pages? Should I write using the standard man macros, or is there some clever package available now that takes some kind of XML-ified source and can output man pages, HTML, ASCII, and what not? Thanks

  • compiling numpy with sunperf atlas libraries

    - by user288558
    I would like to use the sunperf libraries when compiling scipy and numpy. I tried using setupscons.py which seems to check from SUNPERF libraries, but it didnt recognize where mine are: here is a listing of /pkg/linux/SS12/sunstudio12.1 (thats where the sunperf library lives): wkerzend@mosura:/home/wkerzend>ls /pkg/linux/SS12/sunstudio12.1/lib/ CCios/ libdbx_agent.so@ libsunperf.so.3@ amd64/ libfcollector.so@ libtha.so@ collector.jar@ libfsu.so@ libtha.so.1@ dbxrc@ libfsu.so.1@ locale/ debugging.so@ libfui.so@ make.rules@ er.rc@ libfui.so.1@ rw7/ libblacs_openmpi.so@ librtc.so@ sse2/ libblacs_openmpi.so.1@ libscalapack.so@ stlport4/ libcollectorAPI.so@ libscalapack.so.1@ svr4.make.rules@ libcollectorAPI.so.1@ libsunperf.so@ tools_svc_mgr@ I tried to specify this directory in sites.cfg, but I still get the following errors: Checking if g77 needs dummy main - MAIN__. • Boost Jam vs Jam

    - by User1
I recently built the Boost libraries in Linux and noticed the package needed an executable called bjam in order to do the build. Is bjam related to jam? If it is related to jam, did they somehow extend (or even dumb-down) bjam? Is it used only for building Boost libraries or is it a general build tool for anything?

  • diff to html (diff2html) program

    - by blueyed
I'm looking for a "diff to html" program, which would generate a static html page from a given diff/patch file. I've googled for it of course, but apart from some scripts I've found there's no "real project" (e.g. no package in Debian/Ubuntu). Have I missed something? Can you recommend anything?

  • Set of Tools to optimize the performance in general of SQL Server

    - by Dave
Hi, I know there are things out there to help to optimize queries, ect... but is there anything else, something like a full package that can scan your database and highlight all the performance issues, naming conventions, tables not properly normalized, etc? I know this is the job of a DBA and if the DBA is good, he shouldn't need a tool like that, but sometimes you start a new job, you get in charge of an existing database and the DB is a mess, so you don't know where to start... Thanks to everyone Dave

  • Getting the source .rst file path in Sphinx extension

    - by Mikko Ohtamaa
I am writing a Sphinx extension and I need to know the document page source code file system path (.rst file location) to extract some version control system information of it. How can I get this information in my event handler / which event handler I should use? Example: # This package may contain traces of nuts def on_html_page_context(app, pagename, templatename, context, doctree): import ipdb ; ipdb.set_trace() if doctree: print doctree.source def setup(app): app.require_sphinx('1.0') app.connect('html-page-context', on_html_page_context)

  • Incorporate Joomla module into template?

    - by thatryan
I built a rad slider module. Then I built a template that I am going to use as a base for more projects, and I know I will use my slider module most of the time. Is there a way, other than tearing apart the modules and re-coding it all into the template, to "package" the module with a template? Like the HTML overrides do, but adding the functionality instead of overriding existing? Does this make sense? Thanks!

  • Totally Sweet Horizontal Rules in LaTeX

    - by Arcane
I have been trying to find a way to easily drop a nice horizontal rule into a LaTeX document. \hline just makes a line across the page. It would seem that some package must provide something that is maybe half a page wide, with little bedknobs on the ends or something to act as a nice section marker for paragraphs. Any ideas? Or am I boned, and need to come up with my own macro to create such a beast?

  • Typesetting LaTeX fraction terms to be larger in an equation

    - by gotgenes
I have the following formula in LaTeX, based on Fisher's Exact Test. (NOTE: requires the use of the amsmath package for \binom.) \begin{equation} P(i,j) = \sum_{x=|N(V_i) \cap V_j|}^{\min\{|V_j|, |N(V_i)|} \frac{ \binom{|V_j|}{x} \binom{|V - V_j|}{|N(V_i)| - x}} {\binom{|V|}{|N(V_i)|}} \end{equation} This renders the fraction portion with very small, difficult to read text: I would like my text more readable, as in the following example: What trickery can I use to get LaTeX to render my equation similarly?
