    I'm a little confused about how to do something in HQL. So let's say I have a class Foo that I'm persisting in hibernate. It contains a set of enum values, like so: public class Foo { @CollectionOfElements private Set<Bar> barSet = new HashSet<Bar>(); //getters and setters here ... } and public enum Bar { A, B } Is there an HQL statement I can use to fetch only Foo instances who'se barSet containst Bar.B? List foos = session.createQuery("from Foo as foo " + "where foo.barSet.contains.Bar.B").list(); Or am I stuck fetching all Foo instances and filtering them out at the DAO level? List foos = session.createQuery("from Foo as foo").list(); List results = new ArrayList(); for(Foo f : foos) { if(f.barSet.contains(Bar.B)) results.add(f); } Thanks!

  • iPhone switch statement using enum

    I have defined an enum in a header file of a class : typedef enum{ RED = 0, BLUE, Green } Colors; - (void) switchTest:(Colors)testColor; and in the implementation file I have : - (void) switchTest:(Colors)testColor{ if(testColor == RED){ NSLog(@"Red selected"); } switch(testColor){ case RED: NSLog(@"Red selected again !"); break; default: NSLog(@"default selected"); break; } } My code compiles correctly without warrnings. When calling the switchTest method with RED, the output is : "Red selected" but once the first line of the switch runs, the application quits unexpectedly and without warrnings/errors. I don't mind using if/else syntax but I would like to understand my mistake.

    This error is driving me nuts!!! Caused by: java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: com.mksoft.fbautomate.domain.Account$Type.values() The same exact class works fine in a separate Groovy file. Any ideas/help much appreciated. Most confusing... http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/lang/Enum.html has no values() method!     I have a class that looks like this: namespace R { class R_Class { enum R_Enum { R_val1, R_val2, R_val3 } private: // some private stuff public: // some public stuff } } I'm performing unit testing using an automated test tool (LDRA). The compiler (GHS) claims that my test harness cannot access the type R::R_Class::R_Enum. I have no trouble accessing the values within a similar class that is defined as such: namespace S { class S_Class { public: enum S_Enum { S_val1, S_val2, S_val3 } } private: // some private stuff public: // some public stuff } Do enums in C++ need to be given explicit visibility directives? If not given any, do they default to private? protected?

    I'm using nhibernate validator in my current solution. Everythings is almost fine but... My view model has a property of type Gender (see example below) public virtual Gender Gender { get; set; } public enum Gender { Female = 1, Male = 2 } Now i like to have some validation to ensure that the gender property ist set. But neither the NotEmpty nor the NotNull Attribute fulfil the requirement. Is there a kind of a generic solution or best practice to handle enum validations. Thanks in advance.

    I have a column in a table defined as following in my yaml file: myTable: columns: value: type: enum length: 2 values: ['yes', 'no'] In the code I am trying to insert data into this table but I can't figure out a way to insert the data using the enum text value (ie. 'yes' or 'no'). What I was trying was is something like this: $obj = new myTable(); // the model for this table $obj->value = 'yes'; // if I use the numerical value for this it works I am using Doctrine 1.1.0.

    I have a view model that contains enum with nullable type like this one : public StudyLevel? studyLevel { get; set; } I have made custom html helper to display a dropdownlist for rendering the enum into the view, the nullable case is displayed using <option value="null">No value</option> the problem is that when i submit the form modelstate give me the error : studylevel cannot be "null" . Could you suggest me any way to help me handle the nullable type in the view ?

    I have a table DEAL and a table DEAL_TYPE. I would like to map this code: public class Deal { DealType type; } public enum DealType { BASE("Base"), EXTRA("Extra"); } The problem is that the data already exist in the database. And I'm having a hard time mapping the classes to the database. The database looks something like that: TABLE DEAL { Long id; Long typeId; } TABLE DEAL_TYPE { Long id; String text; } I know I could use a simple @OneToMany relationship from deal to deal type, but I would prefer to use an enum. Is this possible? I almost got it working by using a EnumType.ORDINAL type. But unfortunately, my IDs in my deal type table are not sequential, and do not start at 1. Any suggestions?

    I have a custom JSP tag which is using a parameter which is an enum. This approach is a consequence of using other classes which need this enumeration. The point is I have no clue how to assign an enum value in the EL: <mytaglib:mytag enumParam="${now what do I type here?}" /> The only workaround which I found so far was to make the enumParam an Integer and convert it to desired values: <mytaglib:mytag enumParam="3" /> I believe there must be a better way to do it. Please help.

    Hi, I'm modeling a chess game on Java, and I'm having some problem. Here's what the code looks like (the relevant parts): Enum class Couleur.java: public enum Couleur {BLANC, NOIR} Piece.java: public abstract class Piece { (...) public Piece(Couleur couleurParam){ this.couleurPiece = couleurParam; } (...) } And finally Tour.java: public class Tour extends Piece { (...) public Tour(Couleur couleurParam){ super(couleurParam); } (...) } All the .java files are in the same folder. Yet at compile I get a "cannot find symbol symbol : variable NOIR location: class Plateau" (Plateau is the class that instantiates Tour.) Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong here? So here's the question. Is it possible to pack an enum in C++, or can someone see why I would get the error? The error is: "semicolon missing after declaration of BeNeLux". I know, after checking and rechecking, that there definitely is a semicolon there, and in any places required in the rest of the code.

    Hello, I am working with php and mysql. I have one dropdown box where I am asking datatype of mysql field. Now, I want to put javascript validation for it. I am confused with the enum datatype. I am using regular expression /^[']{1}[^',^\\]+[']{1}$/. This is for one single value of enum values. It is working fine but issue is when I put single quote or backslash with backslash, it is valid but this regular expression shows it as invalid. For eg, 'a'b' is invalid but 'a\'b' is valid.

    I've looked at various Q&As on SO similar to this question but haven't found a solution. What I have is an enum which represents different ways to view a TV Guide... static enum guideView { GUIDE_VIEW_SEVEN_DAY, GUIDE_VIEW_NOW_SHOWING, GUIDE_VIEW_ALL_TIMESLOTS } ...when the user changes the view an event handler receives an int from 0-2 and I'd like to do something like this... // 'which' is an int from 0-2 switch (which) { case NDroid.guideView.GUIDE_VIEW_SEVEN_DAY: ... break; } I'm used to C# enums and select/case statements which would allow something like the above and I know Java does things differently but I just can't make sense of what I need to do. Am I going to have to resort to if statements? There will likely only ever be 3 choices so I could do it but I wondered how it could be done with switch-case in Java.

This morning we are also excited to announce that the general availability image of Windows Server 2012 RC is now supported on Windows Azure.  Windows Azure is the first cloud provider to offer the final release of Windows Server 2012 R2, and it is incredibly easy to launch your own Windows Server 2012 R2 instance with it.     I am trying to get wifi direct working on a laptop with ubuntu 12.04 When I type the command 'iw list' it doesn't show P2P-client or P2P-go under 'supported interface modes.From http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Documentation/iw/replace-iwconfig I found that 'iwconfig' was replaced with 'iw'.Does it mean that my hardware doesn't have support for wifi-direct or is it just the software(drivers) issue? If is it just sofware issue please help me to find the right drivers which support wifi-direct. Here is the info about my ethernet controller from the output of 'lspci' 02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communication Inc.
