Hi,
I would like to know if its possible to deploy java class files without restarting JBoss server. I am using jboss v4.2.2.
Also, when I try to deploy jsp files, it works fine and server picks up the changes almost instantly.
Thanks a lot in advance :)
Hi,
I would like to open a webpage and run a javascript function from within a java app.
For example I would like to open the page www.mytestpage.com and run the following javascript code:document.getElementById("txtEmail").value="[email protected]";submit();void(0);
This works in a browser...how can I do it programatically?
Thanks!
I want to show a box in 3d on my website, and I was thinking to do it in Flash. How I can show a 3d model?
I need something very simple, it's a textured cube, no interaction required, just let the user pan and zoom.
There is a 3ds viewer in flash or something like that?
Java is also ok (but flash is preferred)
I've found that java.lang.Ingteger implementation of compareTo method looks as follows:
public int compareTo(Integer anotherInteger) {
int thisVal = this.value;
int anotherVal = anotherInteger.value;
return (thisVal<anotherVal ? -1 : (thisVal==anotherVal ? 0 : 1));
}
The question is why use comparison instead of subtraction:
return thisVal - anotherVal;
I am about to start developing an Android application and had a question if in Java there self naming. For instance say I had a variable named dog that held the value of scruffy.
Could I then create a variable named scruffy from that variable. In PHP it would be $$dog. That would make a variable with the name scruffy.
If this is possible please provide example
I'm in the process of weeding out all hardcoded values in a java library and was wondering what framework would be the best (in terms of zero- or close-to-zero configuration) to handle run-time configuration? I would prefer xml-based config-files, but it's not essential.
Please do only reply if you have practical experience with a framework. I'm not looking for examples, but experience... Thanks for taking the time.
What JAVA library should I be using to Hash passwords for storage in a database?
I was hoping to just take the plain text password, add a random salt, then store the salt and the hashed password in the database.
Then when a user wanted to log in, I could just take their submitted password, add the random salt from their account information, hash it and see if it equates to the stored hash password with their account information.
Hi i'm working in task queue concept.... First i struggled to program using task queue and i asked many doubts in stack overflow and Google app engine java. More of a wiki list/collection, I'm looking for a list of good Java desktop apps. I've added a couple below to get started. Please list the framework/widget toolkit being used if it's know as well.
Hi,
I am developing an application in Netbeans, and it is using JavaDB. I can connect to it and execute queries without issues, but for some reason, the "Output - JavaDB Database Process" pane within Netbeans keeps displaying
Security manager installed using the Basic server security policy.
Could not listen on port 1527 on host localhost:
java.net.BindException: Address already in use
How do I find out what process is already using, or bound to, that port number?

Hello,
In which case should you use primitive types(int) or complex types(Integer)?
Ex:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2508918/why-java-compiler-does-not-like-integer-as-type-for-values-in-hashmap this example works with Integer type. Should we always use Integer as a complex type?
Hi there,
is it possible to access a shadowed field of an enclosing class from the enclosed one in Java?
public class Inherit {
public int a = 3;
private int b = 5;
public class Inheriting {
public int a = 23;
private int d = 8;
public void f() {
System.out.println("Here I want to get a = 3");
...
}
}
}
Cheers!
From what I have gathered, I want to force a class to use particular private fields (and methods) I need an abstract class because an interface only declares public/static/final fields and methods. Correct??
I just started my first big java project and want to make sure I'm not going to hurt myself later :)
I'm writing an application which monitors the person’s mouse and keyboard. If they have not used the keyboard or mouse for 1 minute, it should pops up a message which says “You have not used the mouse or keyboard for 1 minute” and an OK button.
How do I do this in Java?
I want to create a TreeMap in Java with a custom sort order. The sorted keys which are string need to be sorted according to the second character. The values are also string.
Sample map:
Za,FOO
Ab,Bar
In my java application i am having latitude information in this format 28"41'44.13597 .
My need is to convert the same information into 28.705450.
Please help through code or any references
Thanks in advance

Is it possible to get a reference to this from within a Java inner class?
i.e.
Class outer {
void aMethod() {
NewClass newClass = new NewClass() {
void bMethod() {
// How to I get access to "this" (pointing to outer) from here?
}
};
}
}
This is simply for fun. This will not be used for any actual encryption. I'm only first year comp sci student and love cryptography.
This took a long time to get working. At approximately N = 18, it begins breaking down. It won't encrypt messages properly after that point. I'm not sure why. Any insights? I'd also appreciate any links you could provide me to tutorials or interesting reading about Cryptography.
