  I'm using Greasemonkey to redirect certain URLs to another but I would like to redirect before the URL to be redirect loads. Currently I'm using this simple script: //==UserScript== // @name Redirect Google // @description Redirect Google to Yahoo! // @include http://*.google.com/* //==/UserScript== window.location.replace("http://www.yahoo.com") In the above, google appears for a second and then redirected to google. • file_get_contents() Connection timed out problem.

  i use file_get_contents() to get dinamic data. here is my script... $str = file_get_contents("http://cba.am/"); some sript here... it works fine for a long time, but now it returns Connection timed out. and what is strange, when i run the script from local server, it works fine. could you tell me why, and what can i do, to solve this. maybe i must set the higher timeout time in php.ini?   I'm being an idiot. Someone cut and pasted some text from microsoft word into my lovely html files. I now have these unicode characters instead of regular quote symbols, (i.e. quotes appear as <92 in the text) I want to do a regex replace but I'm having trouble selecting them. :%s/\u92/'/g :%s/\u5C/'/g :%s/\x92/'/g :%s/\x5C/'/g ...all fail. My google-fu has failed me.

  Hello, I am curious what is the most efficient algorithm (or commonly used) to count the number of occurances of a string in a chunck of text. From what I read, Boyer–Moore string search algorithm is the standard for string search but I am not sure if counting occurance in an efficient way would be same as searching a string. In python this is what I want: text_chunck = "one two three four one five six one" occurance_count(text_chunck, "one") # gives 3. Regards EDIT: It seems like python str.count serves me such method however I am not able to find what algorithm it uses.

  I need to use preg_match to check that only a-z0-9. is used (including full stop(.)). I don't want to replace anything. My problem is that it doesn't notice white space at beginning of a string. I had one idea: Export the database as SQL then using notepad run a find and replace on it and then reimport it... but it sounds like a bit of a headache. Is there a better way?
