  • When spliting MP4s with ffmpeg how do I include metadata?

    I have a few MP4s that i want to upload to my flickr account but they have a maximum size of 500mb as mine is only about 550 i was planing to simply split them in half then upload them, but i want to make sure all the meta data is included but it does not seem to be.   • Remote Desktop and Num Lock

    Whenever I log into my Windows 7 desktop from my Windows 7 laptop using RDC, the Num Lock is enabled on the host computer and it is not disabled after disconnecting. What can I do to stop the Num Lock from being enabled or automatically disable it at the end of the session? (I do not know if this happens only on Windows 7 and have no way of checking, so I went with the generic windows tag)

  • Windows XP: saving large files on network share stalls

    When I transfer larger files (a few hundred MB) on a network share (either Buffalo LinkStation or other Windows machine) from my Windows XP Pro SP3, it always stalls. Smaller files are no problem, reading from a network share is also no problem. I already had this problem on my notebook and now on my desktop machine, so I assume that it most likely is no driver problem. Does anybody have a clue what could be the problem — or better: the solution?

  • What is the registry key for 'Enhanced Pointer Precision' option in the Mouse Properties

    I use a Razer mouse at work, and though the mouse is supercool, it's driver always removes the 'Enhanced Pointer Precision' option from the Pointer Options tab found in the Mouse Properties of Control Panel on startup. If I could find the correct registry setting to set this option 'on' whenever Windows starts, it would solve my problem. I've tried finding the correct key using Process Monitor, I didn't get success. Anyone know the key??

I started to work on the project for the first time in almost two years and I've noticed, despite using the same font, size and settings the text I create is anti-aliased. I'm using MS Paint 6.0. EDIT: I changed my NVidia Driver Settings to this, but it's not working Update: I managed to fix this by turning of cleartype, however webpages now look worse.

  • Dell SP2309w not getting full resolution on Inspiron E1505

    HI Folks, i have an Inspiron E1505 with Windows 7 and Intel GMA 945 Chipset. I connected a Dell SP2309W 23" monitor via VGA to the laptop but it is not achieving it's original resolution but is stuck at 1024 x 768. Also it is detected as a Generic Non PNP Display Device. I upgraded my display driver to latest version and it fully supports Windows 7. What more can i do? Any help. Thanks a Lot in advance

    I have the standalone Hyper-V Server 2012 running and I'm trying to create the first VM on it but I'm getting the following error: From my research, this error comes up with something related to the Intel IPMI driver but I have an Asus motherboard so I didn't think it was the problem. However, I ran the ResetAccess.exe fix anyways and to no surprise it said something like "This version of Windows does not require this fix". Thank you

  • Wireshark vs Netmon for precise time tagging

    I'm using Wireshark to time tag and get some statistics on multicast traffic. When there is not much traffic, the stats looks good, but as soon as there is a bunch of packets arriving at the same time, I have stats that are not even possible (e.g. round trip time of 0ms) I'm wondering if Netmon could be more precise in time tagging packet because it is not relying on the Winpcap driver? Does anybody already faced the same situation? Thanks a lot, Nic

  • Why do some games randomly turn my screen a random solid color?

    When playing some games my computer will randomly have an error that I cannot fix without turning it off and back on again. The screen changes to one solid color, which varies (off the top of my head I can remember seeing solid green, magenta, etc..) and the sound blares a single tone. The sound sometimes briefly restores and I can still hear the game sounds and even hear and still be heard by people in my Mumble channel, but the screen doesn't right itself so I'm still blind. What's more is this happens in some games but not in others. While the game is actually running, not while I'm still in the menu. However, it does happen if I'm afk or idle but the game world is still rendering. Games where the error occurs: League of Legends World of Warcraft Trine The Sims 2 Dungeon Defenders Safe games: games where it has never occurred: Tribes: Ascend Star Wars: the Old Republic Battlefield 3 So relatively older games cause the problem while newer games do not? I cannot predict when it will happen, it just seems random. However, if it happens and I try playing the same game further after restart it does appear to occur more frequently after the first time. But if I switch to a safe game it doesn't continue happening. Both of my RAM sticks appear fine, flipped position or either one on their own and games still run, computer still boots. I would think over-heating, but then why not all games? ALso, sometimes it happens immediately after I start playing, within seconds of the 3D world booting up. I'm looking to upgrade very soon so I want to figure out what component or software is fubar and replace/repair it. Any suggestions or recommendations of tools would be helpful. Below is some system information. Dxdiag does not detect any problems. Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.120305-1505) System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.     When I am trying to connect to a MySQL database from a remote computer I get a prompt saying: Connection Failed: [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Can't Connect to MySQL server on 'XXX.XXX.XX.XX' (10060) I have created a user account in the MySQL Administrator and added a host to enable remote access, I have also made an exception for my Windows Firewall on port 3306 but the connection still fails.   • How can I force a Mac OS X kext to load prior to login?

    I have a kext that I would like to be loaded at startup time. It doesn't need to be loaded particularly early in the process, but I would like it to be loaded before a user logs in. The kext in question is InsomniaT, and, unlike a device driver, there is nothing that is automatically going to request that it be loaded into the kernel, so just putting it in /System/Library/Extensions won't do anything. What's the best way to do this?

    I would like to write things like this in /etc/apt/sources.list: deb sftp://[email protected]/path other stuff When I try this, apt-get complains that there is no sftp method for apt: # apt-get update E: The method driver /usr/lib/apt/methods/sftp could not be found. Has anyone written a patch to add the sftp method for apt? All I could find in Google was this spec for Ubuntu. Thanks for your help.
