  • PHP: Redirect to the same page, changing $_GET.

    - by Jonathan
Hi, I have this PHP piece of code that gets $_GET['id'] (a number) and do some stuff with this. When its finished I need to increase that number ($_GET['id']) and redirect to the same page but with the new number (also using $_GET['id']). I am doing something like this: $ID = $_GET['id']; // Some stuff here // and then: $newID = $ID++; header('Location: http://localhost/something/something.php?id='.$newID); exit; The problem here is that the browser stop me from doing it and I get this error from the browser (Firefox) : "The page isn't redirecting properly. Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete." Some help here please!

  • PHP exec problem with s3-put

    - by schneck
Hi there, I use the s3-bash-project to upload data to an S3-Bucket. My command looks like this: /mypath/s3_bash/s3-put -v -k '123456789' -s '/mypath/secret' -T '/mypath/upload/myuploadfile' '/my.bucket/mykeyname' I can run the command from the command line (Mac OS X), and it works well. Now I want to execute it from a PHP-Script: exec($command, $output); but in output, the "s3-put"-command only returns the command's help text. I log the command, and it works if I c&p it from the log the the command line, so there not a problem. It seems that PHP does not pass all the parameters to the command line, although I run escapeshellarg() over all the parameters. I'm using a local XAMPP-Test environment, safe_mode is off. Any ideas?

  • The largest prime factor with php

    - by Tom
    So, I wrote php program to find the largest prime factor with php and I think it is quite optimal, because it loads quite fast. But there is a problem, it doesn't count very big numbers's prime factors. Here is a program: function is_even($s) { $sk_sum = 0; for($i = 1; $i <= $s; $i++) { if($s % $i == 0) { $sk_sum++; } } if($sk_sum == 2) { return true; } } $x = 600851475143; $i = 2; //x is number while($i <= $x) { if($x % $i == 0) { if(is_even($i)) { $sk = $i; $x = $x / $i; } } $i++; } echo $sk;

  • PHP: "Footer function"?

    - by Ricket
I have a project. It has a good number of PHP files. Each of these files includes a standard header. They don't include a standard footer. Now I want to do something just before the end of every page. I can go through each page and add the footer code, but I was wondering if there is an easier way (and I think I've seen something like it before, though I might be mistaken). Is there a way to set a "hook" or "trigger" function that will be executed at the end of a page, from the included header PHP script? I'm thinking of something like set_error_handler but to handle a page close event. Or like C's atexit function.

  • Any way to break if statement in PHP?

    - by Usman
Is there any command in PHP to stop executing the current or parent if statement, same as break or break(1) for switch/loop. For example $arr=array('a','b'); foreach($arr as $val) { break; echo "test"; } echo "finish"; in the above code PHP will not do echo "test"; and will go to echo "finish"; I need this for if $a="test"; if("test"==$a) { break; echo "yes"; // I don't want this line or lines after to be executed, without using another if } echo "finish"; I want to break the if statement above and stop executing echo "yes"; or such codes which are no longer necessary to be executed, there may be or may not be an additional condition, is there way to do this?

  • Include a repetitive chunk of html with PHP?

    - by user146780
I basically have a div on my Web Site that always has the same stuff. However, this div is not present on all pages which is why I won't use the dynamic web template. I was wondering if it was possible for PHP to get the code from a document on the server and put in into the div? Ex: div id="section... then my text file contains (p) hello (p) basically I want PHP to put it into the div when the user sees it. If theres a smarter way of acheiving this I'd be open to it aswell. Thanks

  • Switching from php to python

    - by ts
Hello I am trying to make a list of things which can be difficult/surprising to someone who is changing language from PHP to Python. so far i have rather short list: forget require / include, learn import (this was most difficult to me - to understand package - module - class - object hierarchy and its mapping to filesystem) you can't just upload file on server to have webpage (-mod_python, wsgi etc) learn the python way for use variable class names (new $class() vs import + getattr) / operator in python 2.x and all float-related horrors those were difficult to me, it takes few days before mind adapts a new paradigm after i found that there is few other areas which could be challenging for someone with (too) many years of php: everything is an object you have to live with exceptions array vs list, set, dictionary, tuple ... learn (effective) list comprehensions learn generators any other ideas / personal experiences ?

    - by phpaddict
I'm using Windows Vista OS. PHP, MySQL as the database and Apache web server. I want to send notification to those who want to join in my site. But the problem is when I click submit. It doesn't send anything to the email address of the user. • How to style email body in php

    - by Vinay
I want to style mail body. I have tried the below methods to style mail body. But all of them didn't work 1) Used external style sheet style.css td{padding:10px;} mail.php <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css"></link><table><td>....</td></table> 2) Defined Internal Style Sheet: mail.php <style type="text/css"> td{ padding-bottom:8px; } </style> <table><td>....</td></table> I know, Inline style works by doing <td style='padding-bottom:8px'>, But i have got many tables, doing the inline style is not a good idea, Is there any work around so that no need to define style for each element

  • PHP from database and query

    - by Kyle R
I have a table: id, affiliate Each time somebody clicks a link, a new row is inserted, ID being the ID of the page, and affiliate being the ID of the affiliate. For example: Page ID: 9 Affiliate ID: 1 Page ID: 9 Affiliate ID: 2 Page ID: 9 Affiliate ID: 3 I only have 3 affiliates. I want to select this information, and group them by affiliate, for the ID. I have tried this query: SELECT COUNT(*) FROM table WHERE id = '9' GROUP BY affiliate It works fine when I do it in php my admin, how do I get the info in PHP? I have tried: $q = mysql_query("SELECT COUNT(*) FROM table WHERE id = '" . $id . "' GROUP BY affiliate"); $r = mysql_fetch_array($q); When trying to print the data onto the page, I am only getting one result. Do I need to use a foreach/while loop to get all 3? How would I go about doing this? Thank you!
