• Convert MSAccess Project Management Application to PHP/MySQL: Which Methodology?

  I've got to convert a not terribly complicated bespoke project management system from MsAccess Application to PHP/MySQL. I've been programming for donkey's years but embarrassingly know practically nothing about modern methodologies. So the old 'learning curve' versus 'improved efficiency' conundrum rears its ugly head once again. Although I've Googled up some stuff I don't want to prejudice your suggestions, where would you start, I'm at your mercy?

• How to run sql from a .net application against sqlserver and get output like with SQL Management Stu

  I'd like my app to run sql files and receive the results output as if the sql was run from SQL Management Studio with results to text. i.e. nicely formatted recordsets, printed messages, rows affected, errors, running multiple batches separated by GO statements, etc. Any suggestions how to do this without building it from scratch on top of a normal SQL connection?

• Batch file command PAUSE does not work

  I am creating a simple batch file to assist in a few things, and I have some instructions that it prints out as well that I want the user to see before exit. Currently, the window closes very quickly. So I added PAUSE at the end of the file, but it does not want to work. I looked at other questions on SO and have checked to make sure the line endings are CRLF and that I have CRLF at the end of the file. Any suggestions?

I could loop through the methods of class_copyMethodList(), but since I might want to check a lot of instances, I wanted to know if there was a simpler solution (like repondsToSelector:, but restricted to the class itself...)

Everything I've Googled has pointed to mySQL Proxy but I can only seem to capture the database a connection was opened to, not which the current query is being issued against. Is it even possible? I'd like to reduce calls to the remote server by reading a cache file on my web server, then after some time, retrieving a new copy of the remote file. • Invisible sprites still take up a lot in memory

  Just curious, if I have a sprite on the stage with the alpha set to 0 does that take up just as much memory as a sprite that is visible? I imagine it does because it draws the sprite to the stage and then it has to set the alpha to zero. It may seem like a stupid question but I just wanted to verify.
