  • How to get LSB bit in MIPS?

    - by israkir
    Is there a short way to check/get for least significant bit in a 32-bit integer, in MIPS? It is obviously set for the odd numbers and an algorithm which checks for the whole number is odd or even can decide for this. But I just wonder is there a better way to do this...

  • program R- in ggplot restrict y to be >0 in LOESS plot

    - by Nate
    Here's my code: qplot(data=sites, x, y, main="Site 349") (p <- qplot(data = sites, x, y, xlab = "", ylab = "")) (p1 <- p + geom_smooth(method = "loess",span=0.5, size = 1.5)) p1 + theme_bw() + opts(title = "Site 349") Some of the LOESS lines and confidence intervals go below zero, but I would like to restrict the graphics to 0 and positive numbers (because negative do not make sense). How can I do this?

  • Fix for Visual Studio 2005 not showing filename or line on errors in web pages when compiling?

    - by spoulson
    A project I'm on requires Visual Studio 2005. One annoyance is that when a website project in the solution, any compile errors from .aspx or .ascx files show up like: (0,0): warning CS0168: The variable 'ex' is declared but never used (0,0): warning CS0162: Unreachable code detected (0,0): warning CS0168: The variable 'ex' is declared but never used (0,0): warning CS0168: The variable 'ex' is declared but never used How can I track these down? Is there an option I'm missing that gives me filename and line numbers?

  • C# Check for missing number in sequence

    - by Jon
    I have an List<int> which contains 1,2,4,7,9 for example. I have a range from 0 to 10. Is there a way to determine what numbers are missing in that sequence? I thought LINQ might provide an option but I can't see one In the real world my List could contain 100,000 items so performance is key

  • How to get unique values when using a UNION mysql query

    - by Roland
    I have 2 sql queries that return results, both contain a contract number, now I want to get the unique values of contract numbers HEre's the query (SELECT contractno, dsignoff FROM campaigns WHERE clientid = 20010490 AND contractno != '' GROUP BY contractno,dsignoff) UNION (SELECT id AS contractno,signoffdate AS dsignoff FROM contract_details WHERE clientid = 20010490) So for example, if the first query before the union returns two results with contract no 10, and the sql query after the union also returns 10, then we have 3 rows in total, however because contractno of all three rows is 10, I need to have only one row returned, Is this possible?

  • Sequential (comb) GUIDs for Oracle

    - by Eyvind
    We are in the process of switching from the C# Guid.NewGuid() random-ish guid generator to the sequential guid algorithm suggested in this post. While this seems to work well for MS SQL Server, I am unsure about the implications for Oracle databases, in which we store guids in a raw(16) field. Does anyone have any insight as to whether this algorithm would be good for creating sequential guids for Oracle as well as for MS SQL Server, or if a different variant should be used. Thanks!

  • Is it good practice to name variables differently when defining more than one function?

    - by John
    For example, in this simple function where fun1 takes as input two numbers, adds them together and passes them to function 2 for printing the output. var1_in is local to each function, so is it OK to use the name var1_in in both functions, or is it better practice to call them different things? fun1 <- function (var1_in, var2_in) { var3 = var1_in + var2_in fun2(var3) } fun2 <- function (var1_in) { var4 = var1_in print(var4) }

  • substrings and multiple textfields, AS3

    - by VideoDnd
    How do I get my text fields to populate correctly and show single digits? Description Each textfield receives a substring. This doesn't limit it's input, because the text fields shows extra numbers. The counters are set to 2,200,000.00, just to see if the numbers are populating. Ex A is the one I'm trying to fix. Ex A the one I want to fix //Tweening method 'could substitute code with Tweener' import fl.transitions.Tween; import fl.transitions.easing.*; //Timer that will run a sec and repeat var timer:Timer = new Timer(1000); //Integer values var count:int = +220000000; var fcount:int = 0; //Events and starting timer timer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, incrementCounter); addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, checkOdometerPosition); timer.start(); //Tween Variables var smoothLoop:int = 0; var originalYPosition:Number = 0; var upwardYPosition:Number = -99; //Formatting String function formatCount(i:int):String { var fraction:int = i % 100; var whole:int = i / 100; return ("0000000" + whole).substr(-7, 7) + "." + (fraction < 10 ? It’s move complex than Ex B, because it has a Y animation and pairs of numbers. The text objects are animated to create a scrolling effect. It moves vertically, and has a lead number and a catch up number contained in each symbol. See illustration for more description. Ex B work fine! for example only //STRING SPLITTER COUNTER with nine individual text fields //Timer settings var delay:uint = 1000/100; var repeat:uint = 0; var timer:Timer; timer = new Timer(delay,repeat); timer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, incrementCounter); timer.start(); //Integer values var count:int = 0; var fcount:int = 0; //Format Count function formatCount(i:int):String { var fraction:int = i % 100; var whole:int = i / 100; return ("0000000" + whole).substr(-7, 7) + "." + (fraction < 10 ?   • Percent of internet running Google Native Client?

    - by anon
    Anyone have numbers on how many machines / % of internet uses have Google Native Client? I'm curious about google NaCL as a platform: it seems to combine the best of the web (just a webpage, accessible on any machine) and desktop apps (OpenGL, C/C++ power). The only question is -- what percent of the world actually use it. Anyone have data on this? Thanks!

  • Dedicating all processor power to a task

    - by Yktula
    Let's say we have a very processor-intensive task at hand which could be effectively parallelized. How can we dedicate all or almost all available processor power to performing that task? The task could be a variety of things, and iterative Fibonacci number generation that saves recorded numbers would be just one example.

  • file output in python giving me garbage

    - by Richard
    When I write the following code I get garbage for an output. It is just a simple program to find prime numbers. It works when the first for loops range only goes up to 1000 but once the range becomes large the program fail's to output meaningful data output = open("output.dat", 'w') for i in range(2, 10000): prime = 1 for j in range(2, i-1): if i%j == 0: prime = 0 j = i-1 if prime == 1: output.write(str(i) + " " ) output.close() print "writing finished"

  • MooTools event listener disappears after element.innerHTML is changed

    - by acoder
    Hi everyone, I am trying to achieve this task using MooTools. Description: I attached an event listener to "myButton" link. A click on this link initiates an AJAX request and updates "myDiv" content based on the response text. During this request a POST variable is being sent to "button.php", but it's not used at the moment.. (i wish to use it later) OK, as a result, "myDiv" gets exactly the same link with the same ID (myButton) + a random number, so that we could see that each click generates a new number. The problem: After the first click on "myButton", "myDiv" updates correctly, showing a random number. When I click "myButton" for the second time (this time in newly updated div), the div does not refresh anymore. Please note that I need "myButton" to be inside "myDiv", and "myDiv" must be updated (refreshed) after each click without having to refresh the entire page. Can somebody show me how to achieve this task based on this simplified code example? index.html <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="mootools-1.2.4-core-nc.js"></script> <script> window.addEvent('domready', function() { $('myButton').addEvent('click', function(e) { e.stop(); var myRequest = new Request({ method: 'post', url: 'button.php', data: { action : 'test' }, onRequest: function() { $('myDiv').innerHTML = '<img src="images/loading.gif" />'; }, onComplete: function(response) { $('myDiv').innerHTML = response; } }); myRequest.send(); $('myButton').removeEvent('click'); }); }); </script> </head> <body> <div id="myDiv"> <a id="myButton" href="#">Button</a> </div> </body> </html> button.php <a id="myButton" href="#">Button</a> clicked <?php echo rand(1,100); ?>

  • android Convert phone number in International Format

    - by Arutha
    I'd like to know whether it's possible to have phone numbers converted into international format when a call is outgoing. For instance, if a french user (sorry it's the only format i know i won't make a mistake :-) try to call with the national format : 01.47.12.34.56 then a method will convert it into international format like this : +33.1.47.12.34.56 I've looked into the doc of the PhoneNumberUtils but i don't know if there is a method doing what i want.
