I am adding functionality to an ASP.Net webforms application and we've decided that new development will be done MVC with a view to move all functionality over eventually.
Obviously, MVC and WebForms play together rather nicely when it comes to accessing an MVC action via a URL. However, I'd like to display the MVC view within an existing tab (telerik) control on a WebForm page. This view will be using js/css file so that will need to be considered also.
I have a scrollable div tag (overflow). Now I'd like to use mouse to click and hold and move to navigate up and down (like how the hand cursor feature in Adobe Reader works).
Is there any js script to achieve this?
Specifically, I'm using jquery, any jquery plugins to achieve this?
Hello
I'm creating a bookmarklet and of course I'd like to use jQuery. But, if I include jQuery (append a script-tag to head) on a site, will the site itself work anymore, if it has some other js on?

Hey Guys,
i hope you can help me.
I'm looking for a "special" Datepicker JS/jQuery which needs some special Options:
I'll try to explain you with the help of the jQuery UI Datepicker
- the same function as the Inline Datepicker
- 2 Datepickers has to be shown at the same time
- it should be possible to disable Dates !!!!!!!!!!! (thats the Problem why i do not use the jQuery UI Datepicker !)
Can someone give me a good hint?
Thx and have a nice weekend.

Hi,
I have saw some time ago library where you can import your 3d objects and it will draw those out. You could also animate the objects.
The webpage itself was back and there were rotating gear at the corner...
Can anyone recall the name of the library?
Also you can mention if you know some other neat js libraries.
Thanks!
Does anyone have a no JavaScript way to make HTML checkbox still submit a value? As in if you check it the form submission will include a value A but if it is uncheck it still contains a value B?
While I figure there isn't any way, I'm working on a site which needs to still be function when JS is off, and this would be ideal.
After calling encodeURIComponent in JS and piecing things together, I have an URL like this:
http://www.foo.com/%E5%9C%B0%E9%9C%87
(i.e utf-8 encoding)
This gets received in my python server side. How can I decode that to a unicode string of
http://www.foo.com/??
?
Hi out there,
i'm trying to get the latest podcast informations out of "itunes store" to work with this data in several applications (iphone app and web app).
Is there a way to get this informations? RSS, JSON or something?
i want to work with this informations in objective-c and on a website with php or js.
Is my question clear? :(
I have a text area in which users can type source code (html/css/js). I want to be able to let them click a "switch to fullscreen" link to make the editor fullscreen.
Of course, this should work on any resolution and must also resize when a users resizes it's window.
I found this plugin, http://plugins.jquery.com/project/fulltextarea, but it's not resizing when the browser windows is resized.
Any tips or plugins for this one?
I'm new to sencha-touch. I was wondering how to properly use the file structure in sencha-touch. For example, under the app folder there's your controller, model, profile, store, view folders. If I define a store, for example under the the store folder I create a file named search.js
Ext.define('Volunteer.store.search'{
extend: 'Ext.data.Store',
requires: ['Volunteer.model.person'],
config:{
model: 'Volunteer.model.person'
}
});
How do I use this store in a different file?
I'm frequently adding a lot of content files (mostly images and js) to my ASP.NET project. I'm using VS publish system, and on publish, new files are not published until I include them in the project. I would like to auto include all files in specified directory. Is there a way to specify wich directories should be auto-included in csproj file or anywhere else?
I'd like to use some semantic HTML tags instead of <div>s: <article>, <product>, <footer> etc. Some of them are already presented in the upcoming HTML5, however, it's not fully supported.
Which are the possible cons I might face when Rendering? Using CSS, JS?
The one I remember is: IE6 can't clone tags it doesn't know.
How do you add an Expires or a Cache-Control Header in JSP. I want to add a far-future expiration date in an include page for my static components such as images, css and .js files.
Any help is appreciated.
I am using Lightbox 2 and I have followed the short tutorial on how to insert it in a webpage and it works perfectly but the close and refresh images don't show. They are replaced with the classic Mac OS X '?' box. I have checked the paths of these images in the lightbox.js file and they are correct.
Thanks in advance!
Part of the problem here is that i'm not sure what the best language to use in order to find the solution. I search and searched so please forgive if this is already a thread somewhere.
I'm using the roundabout plugin to cycle through 3 divs. Each div is 794px wide, which makes the roundabout-in-focus element 794 and the two not in focus 315.218px wide, positioned so half of each is hidden by the in-focus div. This is all well and good, however the total width of the display needs to stay within 1000px (ideally 980px, but i can fudge if need be.)
Basically I want to make the non-focused divs be 3/4 hidden by the in-focus div but for the life of me can't figure out what variables i need to edit in order to do it. Unfortunately it's not one of the many easily-changed options like z-index and minScale. i tried minScale but it's clear this isn't going to work.
the plugin outputs this code:
<li class="roundabout-moveable-item" style="position: absolute; left: -57px; top: 205px; width: 319.982px; height: 149.513px; opacity: 0.7; z-index: 146; font-size: 5.6px;">
i need to find out what changes the left positioning so it's shifted closer to the center of the stage, like this:
<li class="roundabout-moveable-item" style="position: absolute; left: 5px; top: 205px; width: 319.982px; height: 149.513px; opacity: 0.7; z-index: 146; font-size: 5.6px;">
i tried playing with the positioning functions of the plugin but all that did was shift everything in tandem left or right.
any help is greatly appreciated. this site is going to be awesome once i figure out all this jquery stuff!
here is a link to my .js file: http://avalon.eaw.com/scripts/jquery.roundabout2.js i've got an overflow:hidden on the to help guide the positioning of those no-focused items.
Hi,
I need to validate a date in a web forms application. For this I use a CompareValidator with
Operator="DataTypeCheck" Type="Date"
The problem is that this Validator doesn't work properly on Firefox with 2 digit years. ( javascript error: m[2] is undefined)
With a 4 digits year it's working properly.
This problem is described also here:
https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/355573/comparevalidator-client-side-bug-two-digit-year-in-mozilla-based-browsers-throws-js-exception
Does anyone know a nice workaround for this?
Thanks

This is not working in IE but it does in FF and Chrome
Then I changed the code to :
document.getElementById("gifts").setAttribute("className", "gkvSprite selected");
Then it worked in IE stopped working in FF and Chrome.
Could someone please help me out here?

I'm loading jQuery from google on my site (http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3/jquery.min.js) which is minned and gzip'd. In firefox, the jquery file shows as a 19k request, but Safari shows it as a 56k request. I'm assuming then that Safari is not accepting it as a gzip'd file. What's the deal? It's coming from google and I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be gzip'd
I just installed Google's Page Speed plugin to Firebug, and everything looks good except for caching. I have set headers to cache my JS and CSS files, but it says the images aren't being cached. How can I make sure the images get cached for 30 days? These are static images, so I can't just add the headers with PHP like I did with the other files.
I guess these are all questions that everyone must just know, because I'm not seeing this in the documentation :-D
I understand that the public folder is the folder that the world has access to.
I know it is the case with the css folder, but in migrating a traditional php website over, will my /images folder, /js folder /mp3s, etc Will those all just also be public folders that will be accessed via the layout or view.phtml pages?
Thanks!
I am using snow leopard and this is what I get in my terminal. By default I am using bash.

Hi,
I want to know if there is any existing implementation of 'endless scroll' in Flex ? I searched online but I could only find implementation in Javascript.
What could be the pros/cons of having an 'endless scroll' component in Flex, which would be more efficient JS or Flex.
Thanks
I'm working on an application that relies on data that the browser sends within the HTTP headers (and there's no way around this). This also happens to be my first time working with something node.js based, so it's very likely I'm completely missing something simple!
Basically what I want to be able to do is call a method on the server from the client, and in that method read the HTTP headers that the client sent.
