• Randomely loosing wireless connexion with Cubuntu 12.04

  I am presently experiencing random disconnections from my wireless network. It looks like it is more and more frequent (however I have not seen any clear pattern). This is killing me... Everything at my home was fine: Wireless identified and connected. As soon as I went to my girlfriend's house the trouble started. I couldn't connect to wireless (authentication... times out and asks for authentication) I started doing internet searching, tried a few solutions posted on line using terminal commands. No solutions. I decided to upgraded to 12.10-13.04 and that left me with a worse problem: I can no longer see ANY networks what so ever. Wireless card is ON, with out a doubt. Wired connection works. • WCF: Manually configuring Binding and Endpoint causes SerciveChannel Faulted State

  Hi there, I've created a ComVisible assembly to be used in a classic-asp application. The assembly should act as a wcf client and connect to a wcf service host (inside a windows service) on the same machine using named pipes. The wcf service host works fine with other clients, so the problem must be within this assembly. In order to get things work I added a service reference to the ComVisible assembly and proxy classes and the corresponding app.config settings were generated for me. Everything fine so far except that the app config would not be recognized when doing an CreateObject with my assembly in the asp code.   I can create an IISWebVirtualDir or IISWebVirtualDirSetting with WMI, but I've found no way to turn the virtual directory into an IIS Application. The virtual directory wants an AppFriendlyName and a Path. That's easy because they're part of the ...Setting object. But in order to turn the virtual directory into an App, you need to set AppIsolated=2 and AppRoot=[its root]. I cannot do this with WMI. I'd rather not mix ADSI and WMI, so if anyone can coach me through to amking this happen in WMI I'd be very happy. But I can't figure out how I can configure it so that when a session expires that the request is not redirect to an other page (expired-url) or displays a 'session expires' message. I don't want any redirect or messages, I want that a anonymous session is started just like when a user without a session enters the website. • Using IIS Application Request Routing (ARR) for ASP.NET MVC

  I use a simple ASP.NET MVC web (the template you use when you create a new site) and the web works as expected in my live environment. I now try to use IIS Application Request Routing version 2. I have a rule that send all reuqests to a different server that match a rule. The settings are a bit like this: http://blogs.iis.net/wonyoo/archive/2008/07/09/application-request-routing-arr-as-a-reverse-proxy.aspx My rule is just a bit different it is /shop(.*). Only requests that contain shop are send to a different server. I have to use rewrite, not redirect (The same as in the Picture) This works as long as the web the original requests go to is no ASP.NET MVC web. I tried to use a plain htm file in the webfolder and it worked. If put a compiled ASP.NET application into the webfolder it worked. But as soon as I put an ASP.NET MVC web into the folder, request arr served by this application. My understanding is that the ARR should kick in before the web application gets the chance to handle the request. Did anybody use ARR sucessfully as a reverse proxy for a ASP.NET MVC web? EDIT Here is the resulting web config when the rewrite roule is entered. • Gzip http compression problem on iis7

  My web hosting provider is running IIS7 and I am having loads of trouble to get gzip compression to work properly. Host admins say compression is installed. I can confirm compression using some online checking services but not with others. PageSpeed Firefox add-on also says the site is uncompressed. I am personally sitting behind a Squid proxy but web.config settings should take care of proxy issue. Below is the relevant web.config snippet. Most of it is borrowed from various sites. • ASP.NET / Active Directory - Supporting auto login for domain users

  I am developing a simple ASP.NET website that will run on the intranet on a WS2008(IIS7) box and respond to users running XP/IE8. Everything is domain connected and I am trying to automatically login the users much like SharePoint does. On my dev machine (XP), when running the site through VS, everything works. I can pickup on the user perfectly. I am using the following settings: <authentication mode="Windows"/> <identity impersonate="true"/> <anonymousIdentification enabled="false"/> <authorization> <allow users="*"/> <deny users="?"/> </authorization> However, when I publish to the WS2008 box, it doesn't work. Clearly I am missing a setting in IIS7 to support this. I have the following set for Authentication on the site: Anon Auth - Enabled ASP.NET Impersonation - Enabled Basic Auth - Disabled Forms Auth - Disabled Windows Auth - Disabled What am I missing? • ASP.NET MVC 2 matches correct area route but generates URL to the first registered area instead.

  I'm working on a S#arpArchitecture 1.5 project, which uses ASP.NET MVC 2. I've been trying to get areas to work properly but I ran into a problem: The ASP.NET MVC 2 routing engine matches the correct route to my area but then it generates an URL that belongs to the first registered area instead. Here's my request URL: /Framework/Authentication/LogOn?ReturnUrl=%2fDefault.aspx I'm using the Route Tester from Phil Haack and it shows: Matched Route: Framework/{controller}/{action}/{id} Generated URL: /Data/Authentication/LogOn?ReturnUrl=%2FDefault.aspx using the route "Data/{controller}/{action}/{id}" That's clearly wrong, the URL should point to the Framework area, not the Data area. I am trying to get the following things working together: MVC2 FluentValidation Entity Framework 4.0 (POCO) Castle Windsor I've pretty much gotten everything working. I have Castle Windsor implemented and working with the Controllers being served up by the WindsorControllerFactory that is part of MVCContrib. I also have Castle serving up the FluentValidation validators as is described by this article: http://www.jeremyskinner.co.uk/2010/02/22/using-fluentvalidation-with-an-ioc-container/ My problem comes in when I try to use Html.EditorForModel or EditorFor on a view. When I try to do that I get this error message: No component for supporting the service FluentValidation.IValidator`1[[System.Data.Entity.DynamicProxies.State_71C51A42554BA6C3CF05105DA05435AD209602C217FC4C34CA52ACEA2B06B99B, EntityFrameworkDynamicProxies-BrindleyInsurance.BusinessObjects, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null]] was found This is due to using the POCO generation on Entity Framework 4.0. At runtime, the generated classes get wrapped with a Dynamic Proxy so tracking and lazy loading can happen. Apparently, when using EditorForModel or EditorFor, it tries to ask Windsor to create a validator for the dynamic proxy type instead of the underlying real type. Does anyone know what I can do to solve this issue?

  Does anyone know if there is a valid roleManager I can apply to ASPDotNetStorefront to get the site working? We have a website that has an ASP.Net storefront served in a virtual folder off the root. ourwebsite.com ourwebsite.com/shop Everything has been workign fine until we put the groundwork in place for forms authentication in the website recently. This caused an error on the production server when you tried to get into the shop... Unable to cast object of type 'System.Web.Security.RolePrincipal' to type 'AspDotNetStorefrontCore.AspDotNetStorefrontPrincipal'. Looking at the shop's web.config I noticed there was no RoleManager node, so I tried to fix the problem by removing it in the shop's web.config <roleManager enabled="false"> </roleManager> This prevented the error occurring, but also prevented the shopping basket from working.   I am starting to work with ninject interceptors to wrap some of my async code with various behaviors and am having some trouble getting everything working. Here is an interceptor I am working with: public class MyInterceptor : IInterceptor { public async void Intercept(IInvocation invocation) { try { invocation.Proceed(); //check that method indeed returns Task await (Task) invocation.ReturnValue; RecordSuccess(); } catch (Exception) { RecordError(); invocation.ReturnValue = _defaultValue; throw; } } This appears to run properly in most normal cases. I am not sure if this will do what I expect. Although it appears to return control flow to the caller asynchronously, I am still a bit worried about the possibility that the proxy is unintentionally blocking a thread or something. That aside, I cannot get the exception handling working. For this test case: [Test] public void ExceptionThrown() { try { var interceptor = new MyInterceptor(DefaultValue); var invocation = new Mock<IInvocation>(); invocation.Setup(x => x.Proceed()).Throws<InvalidOperationException>(); interceptor.Intercept(invocation.Object); } catch (Exception e) { } } I can see in the interceptor that the catch block is hit, but the catch block in my test is never hit from the rethrow. I am more confused because there is no proxy or anything here, just pretty simple mocks and objects. I also tried something like Task.Run(() => interceptor.Intercept(invocation.Object)).Wait(); in my test, and still no change. The test passes happily, but the nUnit output does have the exception message. I imagine I am messing something up, and I don't quite understand what is going on as much as I think I do. Is there a better way to intercept an async method? What am I doing wrong with regards to exception handling?

  I'm trying to port an existing WCF client application to run on Linux under Mono. Right now I'm testing everything out, figuring out what works on Mono and what doesn't. The client makes a super simple call over basicHttpBinding. It works great, until I enable SSL (that is, specify BasicHttpSecurityMode.Transport in the binding). Running on .NET in Windows, it works great Running on Mono on Ubuntu 9.10 / Mono 2.6 I get the following error: Exception in async operation: System.Net.WebException: Error getting response stream (Write: The authentication or decryption has failed.): SendFailure --- System.IO.IOException: The authentication or decryption has failed. --- Mono.Security.Protocol.Tls.TlsException: Invalid certificate received from server. Error code: 0xffffffff800b010a I've read the Mono security FAQ here: http://www.mono-project.com/FAQ:_Security; however the SSL certificate on the server is from a root CA (a purchased certificate) - issued by Equifax Secure Certificate Authority. I ran the TlsTest tool on the Ubuntu install against the .svc URL and there are no problems/errors. Also I can hit the service fine in Firefox (no security warnings). What am I missing? I appended my public ssh key (my local machine's public key local/Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa.pub) to authorized_keys in remote_server/home/Alice/.ssh/authorized_keys, changed the permissions on Alice/.ssh/ to 700 and Alice/.ssh/authorized_keys to 600, and both the file and folder are owned my Alice. Then added I Alice to sshd_config (AllowUsers Alice). This works and I can login into Alice: ssh -v [email protected] ... debug1: Offering public key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa debug1: Server accepts key: pkalg ssh-rsa blen 277 debug1: Authentication succeeded (publickey). debug1: channel 0: new [client-session] debug1: Entering interactive session. Last login: Mon Mar 15 09:51:01 2010 from 123.456.789.00 I then copied the authorized_keys file remote_server/home/Alice/.ssh/authorized_keys to remote_server/home/Bob/.shh/authorized_keys and changed the permissions and ownership and added Bob to AllowUsers in sshd_config (AllowUsers Alice Bob).   I've come across a question where a user is having difficulties accessing an image through a script (using cURL/file_get_contents()): How to save an image from url using PHP? The image link seems to return a 403 error when using file_get_contents() to request it. But in cURL, a more detailed error is returned: You were denied access to the system. Turn off the engine or Surf Proxy, Fake IP if you really want to access. Proxy or not accepted from any Web tools Intrusion Prevention System. Binh Minh Online Data Services @ 2008 - 2012 I also failed to access the same image after fiddling around with a cURL request myself. I tried changing the user-agent to my exact browsers user-agent which can successfully access the image. I've also tried the script on my personal local server, which (obviously) uses the same IP address as my browser... So as far as I know, user-agents and IP addresses are out of the situation. How else can someone detect a script performing a request? BTW, this is not for anything crazy. I'm just curious xD
