    Hi, If I have a file myfile.py, which imports Class1 from file.py and file.py contains imports to different classes in file2.py, file3.py, file4.py. In my myfile.py, can I access these classes or do I need to again import file2.py, file3.py etc... My question is whether python automatically add all the imports included in the file I imported, and can I use them automatically. Thank you. Bala

    Hi, Could someone tell me how to get the parent directory of a path in Python in a cross platform way. E.g. C:\Program Files --- C:\ and C:\ --- C:\ If the directory doesn't have a parent directory, it returns the directory itself. The question might seem simple but I couldn't dig it up through Google.     Hi im trying to detect a marker in a webcam video feed and overlay it with a 3d object - pretty much exactly like this: http://www.morethantechnical.com/2009/06/28/augmented-reality-with-nyartoolkit-opencv-opengl/ i know artoolkit is the best module for this, but i was hoping to just use opencv in python since i dont know nearly enough c/c++ to be able to use artoolkit. im hoping someone will be able to get me on the right track towards detecting the marker and determining its location and orientation etc since i have no idea how best to go about this or what functions i should be using thanks mitch

    Hi, I can't find a correct way to get the environment variable for the appdata path in python. The problem is that my user name includes special characters (the german ae and ue). I made a workaround wit PyQt for Vista and Windows 7 but it doesn't work for XP Systems. Does anybody know the correct encoding of these environment variables or another solution for this problem?     Hi, I have access to a grid (running condor) that would (potentially) allow to very substantially reduce how long by nltk based nlp tasks take. unfortunately, i dont have root access on the cluster so cannot install new packages, only run whatever is available on the linux boxes. python is of course available, but nltk isnt - i was wondering however, if there might be a way around this somehow ? is there a way i can somehow still distribute the task in a self-contained 'package' of some sort?     I need to draw polygon using mouse and mark a particular area on google maps. The purpose is to mark an area on google maps and then showing hotels and attractions on that area. The user will mark the hotels on google map while creating them so the db will have their latitude and longitudes. How can I draw the polygon and fill it with a color as background to mark the area in Google Maps? I have read the API Manual “how to draw polygons?” basically you would need to mark multiple points and then combine them into a polygon. But I will need to do this using mouse drag, just like drawing a shape. Kindly help me out how to achieve this. Thanks in advance.

    Hi, I have some trouble testing my Android application which includes the google maps API. The ooficial API example worked just fine but if I copy the code into my own project it keeps saying: "The application has stopped unexpectedly". I looked up the key in the keystore several times and registered it with google. Even tried reinstalling the SDK. Does anybody know what the problem is?
