  • NSPredicate always gives back the same data

    - by Stef Geelen
    I am trying to work with NSPredicates. But it always give me back the same array. Here you can see my predicate. NSFetchRequest *request = [[NSFetchRequest alloc] init]; NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"whichAlbum.album_id == %d", AlbumId]; [request setEntity:[NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Picture" inManagedObjectContext:self.genkDatabase.managedObjectContext]]; [request setPredicate:predicate]; Also when I try it hardcoded. It gives back the same array. NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"whichAlbum.album_id == 5"]; Here you can see my database model. And here you can see how I put data in my database for entity Picture. + (Picture *)pictureWithGenkInfo:(NSDictionary *)genkInfo inManagedObjectContext:(NSManagedObjectContext *)context withAlbumId:(int)albumId withPictureId:(int)pictureId; { Picture *picture = nil; picture = [NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"Picture" inManagedObjectContext:context]; picture.url = [genkInfo objectForKey:PICTURES_URL]; picture.pic_album_id = [NSNumber numberWithInt:albumId]; picture.picture_id = [NSNumber numberWithInt:pictureId]; return picture; } Anybody can help me ? Kind regards

  • UIWebView load remote html page with local images and javascript files

    - by BlueNile
    Im creating application that will display remote page on the UIWebView using local images and javascript/css files for faster loading. I want to avoid using cache because for this to work it must first load all the content. I was searching online for possible solution. Here is what I have: NSURLRequest *urlrequest = [ [NSURLRequest alloc] initWithURL: [NSURL URLWithString:urlString] ]; NSData *returnData = [ NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:urlrequest returningResponse: nil error: nil ]; NSString *HTMLData = [[NSString alloc] initWithData:returnData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; NSString *resourcePath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath]; resourcePath = [resourcePath stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"/" withString:@"//"]; resourcePath = [resourcePath stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@" " withString:@"%20"]; [webView loadHTMLString:HTMLData baseURL: [NSURL URLWithString: [NSString stringWithFormat:@"file:/%@//",resourcePath] ]]; urlString is defined and I moved files to the app bundle. Code works as I can see the remote page but no images nor javascript files are present.

  • NSRegularExpression for stripping HTML Tag

    - by Prazi
    I am developing a ebook reader app. I have the .ePUB file for the entire ebook where in each topic of the ebook is a html file. I want to implement the search functionality in the app. I am using NSRegularExpression class for searching. Please consider the following html code: <temp> I am temp in tempo with temptation </temp> Say for example in the above html code I just want to search for the word temp. Now in above code temp is appearing 5 times - <temp> </temp> temp tempo temptation. I am looking for a regular expression where I can only extract the whole word "temp". I don't want to consider the word temp in the html tags <temp> </temp>. I also don't want the word tempo and temptation to be considered. Thanks in advance

  • How could I pass the float number by value in obj-c?

    - by user313439
    - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application{ // Override point for customization after application launch [window makeKeyAndVisible]; [self printFloat:1.3f]; } - (void)printFloat:(float)f { NSLog(@"%f",f); } I passed the "1.3f" to printFloat, but it was the wrong value (in this case, -2.000000) after "f" received. And there is a warning that "AppDelegate may not respond to -printFloat:" Where did I get it wrong? Thanks.

  • Please explain class methods

    - by user1209902
    I'm finding it difficult to understand when it is necessary to create class methods. From what I've read, they are important for creating new objects, but I do not see how. The following class create a simple shape black rectangle. Can anyone show me how to incorporate a class method to do something that I could not do with an instance method? Shape.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface Shape : UIView; - (id) initWithX: (int)xVal andY: (int)yVal; @end Shape.m #import "Shape.h" @implementation Shape - (id) initWithX:(int )xVal andY:(int)yVal { self = [super init]; UIView *shape = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(xVal, yVal, 10, 10)]; shape.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor]; [self addSubview:shape]; return self; } @end

  • how to dynamically recolor a CGGradientRef

    - by saintmac
    I have three CGGradientRef's that I need to be able to dynamically recolor. When I Initialise the CGGradientRef's the first time I get the expected result, but every time I attempt to change the colors nothing happens. Why? gradient is an instance variable ins a subclass of CALayer: @interface GradientLayer : CALayer { CGGradientRef gradient; //other stuff } @end Code: if (gradient != NULL) { CGGradientRelease(gradient); gradient = NULL; } RGBA color[360]; //set up array CGColorSpaceRef rgb = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB(); gradient = CGGradientCreateWithColorComponents ( rgb, color, NULL, sizeof (color) / sizeof (color[0]) ); CGColorSpaceRelease(rgb); [self setNeedsDisplay];

  • Saving core data in a thread, how to ensure its done writing before quitting?

    - by Shizam
    So I'm saving small images to core data which take a really short amount of time to save, like .2 seconds but I'm doing it while the user is flipping through a scroll view so in order to improve responsiveness I'm moving the saving to a thread. This works great, everything gets saved and the app is responsive. However, there is one thing in the core-data + multithreading doco that worries me: "In Cocoa, only the main thread is not-detached. If you need to save on other threads, you must write additional code such that the main thread prevents the application from quitting until all the save operation is complete." Ok, how do you do that? It only needs to last ~ .2 seconds and its rarely going to happen since the chance of the app quitting as something is saving is very low. How do I run something on the main thread that'll prevent the app from quitting AND not block the gui? Thanks

  • Change Interval Of CADisplayLink

    - by user3679109
    I have replaced an NSTimer with a CADisplayLink. I have it working properly but it is running too slowly. How could I go about speeding this up? This is the code that I'm using: ViewController.h (In {} with @interface: CADisplayLink *displayLink; ViewController.m (viewDidLoad): displayLink = [CADisplayLink displayLinkWithTarget:self selector:@selector(onTimer)]; [displayLink addToRunLoop:[NSRunLoop currentRunLoop] forMode:NSRunLoopCommonModes]; onTimer is the method that it is calling. So my question is how do I speed up how often this is being called? Thanks

  • Parameter becoming zero somewhere

    - by Nick
    Hey guys, Something really weird is happening: when I call foo(100*1.0f), somewhere along the line that becomes 0. To verify I put a breakpoint on foo(), and it indeed is zero and it indeed gets called with 100*1.0f. The code is in Obj-C++. Here is the calling function in XCode's GDB frontend, as you can see, score*scoreMultiplier is 100. And here is the called function in XCode's GDB frontend, here _score is 0.

  • Does a Category applied to NSString also apply to NSCFString via the "toll-free bridge"?

    - by half_brick
    We're integrating a library into an iPhone app which appears to use the google toolbox for iPhone internally. The google toolbox adds a method gtm_stringBySanitizingAndEscapingForXML to NSString. The problem is, whenever we attempt to make a call to this library we get [NSCFString gtm_stringBySanitizingAndEscapingForXML]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x272478 So it appears the library is calling that method on a NSCFString, to which the category does not apply. So... is it the case that the category will not apply across the toll-free bridge to CoreFoundation classes? If that's the case then we at least know why it's blowing up. Figuring out how to fix it is a different matter.

  • SQLITE crash when no data present in table

    - by johnblack45
    Hey, Im having a problem with my app that causes it to crash when no data is present in the table when using a table view. I have tested my code and it works fine as long as there is data present but i need it to work when there is no data present. -(void)initialiseTableData { NSMutableArray *array = [[NSMutableArray alloc]init]; sqlite3 *db = [iCaddyAppDelegate getNewDBConnection]; sqlite3_stmt *statement; const char *sql = "select courseId, courseName, totalPar, totalyardage, holePars, holeYardages, holeStrokeIndexs from Course"; if(sqlite3_prepare_v2(db, sql, -1, &statement, NULL)!= SQLITE_OK) { NSAssert1(0,@"Error preparing statement",sqlite3_errmsg(db)); sqlite3_close(db); } else { while (sqlite3_step(statement) == SQLITE_ROW) { Course *temp = [[Course alloc]init]; temp.courseId = sqlite3_column_int(statement,0); temp.courseName = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%s",(char*)sqlite3_column_text(statement,1)]; temp.totalPar =sqlite3_column_int(statement,2); temp.totalYardage =sqlite3_column_int(statement,3); NSString tempHolePars = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%s",(char)sqlite3_column_text(statement,4)]; NSString tempHoleYardages = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%s",(char)sqlite3_column_text(statement,5)]; NSString tempHoleStrokeIndexes = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%s",(char)sqlite3_column_text(statement,6)]; NSArray *temp1 = [tempHolePars componentsSeparatedByString:@":"]; NSArray *temp2 = [tempHoleYardages componentsSeparatedByString:@":"]; NSArray *temp3 = [tempHoleStrokeIndexes componentsSeparatedByString:@":"]; for(int i = 0; i<=17; i++) { NSString *temp1String = [temp1 objectAtIndex:i]; [temp.holePars insertObject:temp1String atIndex:i]; NSString *temp2String = [temp2 objectAtIndex:i]; [temp.holeYardages insertObject:temp2String atIndex:i]; NSString *temp3String = [temp3 objectAtIndex:i]; [temp.holeStrokeIndexes insertObject:temp3String atIndex:i]; } [array addObject:temp]; } self.list = array; [self.table reloadData]; } }

  • WebView not responding when called from a method

    - by AragornSG
    I have an app with tabbar and webview. I'm trying to make the app come back to default url each time user taps the bar. Right now I'm intercepting taps and launching a method, however it's not affecting my webview. The same syntax for calling webview from awakeFromNib works, so I don't have a clue what's up. I suspect it's something to do with how I call the method, but I don't know what. Here is the code: #import "SecondViewController.h" @implementation SecondViewController - (void)awakeFromNib { NSString *loadURL = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"http://pageurl"]; // [secondView loadRequest:[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:loadURL]]]; SecondViewController *ptr = [[SecondViewController alloc] init]; [ptr goToPage]; } - (void) goToPage { NSLog(@"go to page"); NSString *newURL = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"http://pageurl"]; [secondView loadRequest:[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:newURL]]]; } Thanks fot your help!

  • Implementations details of drag and drop of file path in cocoa.

    - by foo
    Hi, I'm trying to get a part of my window to react to drag and drop. In this case to copy the file path to the file being dropped on the view. I have looked over some documentation but I still have some problems to see exactly where I should implement my methods for drag and drop. I have seen some examples but almost all of them assumes that I want to drop an image on the view. I'm pretty new to cocoa and Xcode so, I have some problems with seeing the exact relation between interface builder and the generated code. I have created a subclass to NSView, called drop zone like this: #import <Cocoa/Cocoa.h> @interface dropZone : NSView { } @end I then use an NSRect to color it grey like this: #import "dropZone.h" @implementation dropZone - (void)drawRect:(NSRect)rect { NSRect bounds = [self bounds]; [[NSColor grayColor] set]; [NSBezierPath fillRect:bounds]; } @end I then drag this class to my window in interface builder. But I will need to implement the registerForDraggingTypes method, but where? I have also seen a convenience method in the Apple docs for file paths like this: dragFile:fromRect:slideBack:event: that might work.

  • Error with custom Class definition in protocol

    - by Greg
    I'm trying to set up a custom delegate protocol and am getting a strange error that I don't understand. I wonder if someone could point out what I'm doing wrong here (I'm still new to Ob-C and protocol use)... The situation is that I've built my own URLLoader class to manage loading and parsing data from the internet. I'm now trying to set up a protocol for delegates to implement that will respond to the URLLoader's events. So, below is my protocol... #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "URLLoader.h" /** * Protocol for delegates that will respond to a load. */ @protocol URLLoadResponder <NSObject> - (void)loadDidComplete:(URLLoader *)loader; - (void)loadDidFail:(URLLoader *)loader withError:(NSString *)error; @end However, I'm getting the following error for both method signatures: Expected ')' before 'URLLoader' I feel like I must be overlooking something small and silly. Any help folks could offer would be greatly appreciated! Whoops ... it was pointed out that I should include URLLoader.h. Here it is: #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> #import "URLLoadResponder.h" /** * URLLoader inferface. */ @interface URLLoader : NSObject { NSString *name; NSString *loadedData; NSMutableData *responseData; NSObject *delegate; BOOL _isLoaded; } @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *name; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *loadedData; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSObject *delegate; - (void)loadFromURL:(NSString *)url; - (void)addCompleteListener:(id)observer selector:(SEL)sel; - (void)removeCompleteListener:(id)observer; - (void)parseLoadedData:(NSString *)data; - (void)complete; - (void)close; - (BOOL)isLoaded; + (NSURL *)makeUrlWithString:(NSString *)url; + (URLLoader *)initWithName:(NSString *)name; @end

  • Issue when rotating a UIScrollView

    - by leachianus.gecko
    I am having issues trying to get the pageControl sample code to work with rotation. I managed to get it to rotate but it does not visually load correctly until I start to scroll (then it works fine). Any Idea on how I can fix this problem? Here is a link to the project if you want to see it in action. This code is based off the PageControl example apple has provided. here is the code: #import "ScrollingViewController.h" #import "MyViewController.h" @interface ScrollingViewController (PrivateMethods) - (void)loadScrollViewWithPage:(int)page; @end @implementation ScrollingViewController @synthesize scrollView; @synthesize viewControllers; - (void)viewDidLoad { amount = 5; [super viewDidLoad]; [self setupPage]; } - (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning { [super didReceiveMemoryWarning]; } - (void)viewDidUnload { [scrollView release]; } - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; } - (void)setupPage { NSMutableArray *controllers = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; for (unsigned i = 0; i < amount; i++) { [controllers addObject:[NSNull null]]; } self.viewControllers = controllers; [controllers release]; // a page is the width of the scroll view scrollView.pagingEnabled = YES; scrollView.contentSize = CGSizeMake(scrollView.frame.size.width * amount, 200); scrollView.showsHorizontalScrollIndicator = NO; scrollView.showsVerticalScrollIndicator = NO; scrollView.scrollsToTop = NO; scrollView.delegate = self; [self loadScrollViewWithPage:0]; [self loadScrollViewWithPage:1]; } #pragma mark - #pragma mark UIScrollViewDelegate stuff - (void)scrollViewDidScroll:(UIScrollView *)_scrollView { if (pageControlIsChangingPage) { return; } /* * We switch page at 50% across */ CGFloat pageWidth = _scrollView.frame.size.width; int dog = floor((_scrollView.contentOffset.x - pageWidth / 2) / pageWidth) + 1; // pageControl.currentPage = page; [self loadScrollViewWithPage:dog - 1]; [self loadScrollViewWithPage:dog]; [self loadScrollViewWithPage:dog + 1]; } - (void)loadScrollViewWithPage:(int)page { if (page < 0) return; if (page >= amount) return; MyViewController *controller = [viewControllers objectAtIndex:page]; if ((NSNull *)controller == [NSNull null]) { controller = [[MyViewController alloc] initWithPageNumber:page]; [viewControllers replaceObjectAtIndex:page withObject:controller]; [controller release]; } if (nil == controller.view.superview) { CGRect frame = scrollView.frame; frame.origin.x = frame.size.width * page; frame.origin.y = 0; controller.view.frame = frame; [scrollView addSubview:controller.view]; } } - (void)didRotateFromInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)fromInterfaceOrientation { [self setupPage]; } - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { // Return YES for supported orientations return YES; } @end
