• Appengine (python) returns empty for valid queries

  I've got an app with around half a million 'records', each of which only stores three fields. I'd like to look up records by a string field with a query, but I'm running into problems. If I visit the console page, manually view a record and save it (without making changes) it shows up in a query: SELECT * FROM wordEntry WHERE wordStr = 'SomeString' If I don't do this, I get 'no results'. Does appengine need time to update? If so, how much? (I was also having trouble batch deleting and modifying data, but I was able to break the problem up into smaller chunks.)

• JBoss as a windows service. Where can i set the JAVA_OPTS?

  hi. I'm running JBoss as a windows service, but i can't seem to find where i can configure the JAVA_OPTS to make it work properly. I need to set the Xms and the Xmx. I have tried to just run JBoss manually (run.bat) and in the same file i set the JAVA_OPTS= -Xms128m -Xmx512m. And that works. Here is my install.bat where i install the JBoss as a service: set JBOSS_CLASS_PATH=%JAVA_HOME%\lib\tools.jar;%JBOSS_HOME%\bin\run.jar rem copy /Y JavaService.exe D:\PROJECT\bin\JBossService.exe JBossService.exe -install JBoss %JAVA_HOME%\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll -Djava.class.path=%JBOSS_CLASS_PATH% -start org.jboss.Main -stop org.jboss.Shutdown -method systemExit -out %PROJECT_HOME%\log\JBoss_out.log -err %PROJECT_HOME%\log\JBoss_err.log -current D:\PROJECT\bin net start JBoss When i look at the info about JBoss Application Server (http://localhost:8080/web-console/) i see this info: JVM Environment Free Memory: 9 MB Max Memory: 63 MB Total Memory: 63 MB And i MUST have more Max Memory. Does anybody know where i can set the JAVA_OPTS when running JBoss as a service?

• Twitter's Bootstrap 2.x popover callback can't focus on element

  I've modified bootstrap's popover function to include a callback which works great. But in the callback I cannot programmatically focus on the first form field. Strange, because I can manipulate other elements in the callback function as well as focus on the element at other points.   I am worried about my account expiry date. I created an account on AWS in July 2013 and submitted my credit card details on 31st Oct 2013. I went in Billing Management Console/Bills section where when I click on Date, I can see months ranging from July 2013 to Nov 2013. From AWS FAQs I gathered When does the AWS free usage tier expire? The AWS free usage tier will expire 12 months from the date you sign up. So WHEN will my account expire, July 2014 (sign up date) or Oct 2014 (credit card details submission date) ?

• Getting value from key pair value into appended property using jQuery

  How do I get the value from a key pair value into the rel property of an anchor tag? When I split the code to put the value in the correct place it doesn't work, the end of the a tag would appear on screen instead value wouldn't be applied. When I look at the resulting code in console in Firebug the rel and href swapped order so the rel is first. The 'key' should be and is in the correct location but the 'value' needs to be applied to the rel attribute.   I use MS Visual Studio and I am new to C++, so I am just wondering if there is an faster more efficient way to do multiple test cases instead of keep clicking CTRL+F5 and re-opening the console many times. • Mobile Safari Youtube opened via javascript

  We have a youtube player embedded in a plage in Mobile Safari and it works great. But we need to be able to launch the youtube player by a means other than user tapping the video itself, for various reasons. So I am trying to figure out what event to trigger in javascript to make it happen with no luck.   Hi, I entered some products data into a table using a migration. I need to expire the page and fragment cache when I update, add, delete products from this table. I created a sweeper for this. class ProductSweeper < ActionController::Caching::Sweeper observe Product def after_create expire_cache end def after_save expire_cache end def after_update expire_cache end def after_destroy expire_cache end private def expire_cache expire_page(:controller => 'ProductsController', :action => 'index') expire_fragment 'listed_products' end end Then in script/console I update the product name and saved. When I reload my app in the browser it still gives me a cache hit. Cached fragment hit: views/listed_products (0.2ms) Can someone tell me how to expire this cache. If yes, then isn't it a bad idea using linq to sql instead of normal SqlCommand ? Or is there any other way of doing it in linq to sql ? When I attach Console.Out, I see nothing(command prompt does not even open). But when I include following:- context.Log = new System.IO.StreamWriter("d:\\abcd.txt"); I get an error, that "The process can not access the file because it is being used by another process" and that process is "w3wp.exe". How can I see the sql commands being executed by DataContext then ?

• Can I get a faster output pipe than /dev/null ?

  Hi I am running a huge task [automated translation scripted with perl + database etc.] to run for about 2 weeks non-stop. While thinking how to speed it up I saw that the translator outputs everything (all translated sentences, all info on the way) to STDOUT all the time. This makes it work visibly slower when I get the output on the console. I obviously piped the output to /dev/null, but then I thought "could there be something even faster?" It's so much output that it'd really make a difference. And that's the question I'm asking You, because as far as I know there is nothing faster... (But I'm far from being a guru having used linux on a daily basis only last 3 years)

  Hi, There seemes to be a consistent problem with the following situation: Say you have a VS2008 solution, consisting of a (say console) application written in vb.net, and a class library written in c#. The application references the class library project. This, of course, complies and works well. However, when you right-click (in the vb.net application code) a function prototype/object type defined in the class library, and select "Go to definition", the object browser opens providing you with the the list of methods available for the class the class library consists of. BAD. However, if you try to do the same when both the application and cl are in c#, this works just fine and you navigate driectly to the relevant function/class.GOOD. Known issue? Solvable?

• simple EJB jar deployed in jboss with its own log4j configuration

  Hi All I have a simple EJB jar with a stateless session bean, deployed in JBOSS AS 4.2.2, unde r/server/default/deploy. The bean is registered under JNDI tree as viewed from jboss jmx console and I am able to access it through a remote java client outside JBOSS. Inside EJB jar, I have added some logging to be written to a separate log file, using apache log4j jar and log4j.xml. But I am not able to view any of the logs. Also I do not wish to use jboss-log4j.xml, since there will be many other EJBs to be deployed and wish to have separate log4j for each EJB application. Here is my one of the EJB-jar contents: EJB_DS.jar: log4j.xml classes apache log4j jar is added to /server/default/lib path.   I want to do some graphic dialogs for my script but don't know how. I hear something about GTK-Server or something like that. If someone know how to link bash with tcl/tk I also be satisfied. • Applet problem with IPlanet and Firefox (class not found)

  I have an applet which loads nicely when accessed locally (both IE and Firefox). However, when I put my webpage in a webserver (local IPlanet), it refuses to load on Firefox (but still fine on IE).   I am using Eclispe with Google plugin for AppEngine and GWT. Recently I created a test GWT module, but eventually it has been deleted from the project and I can not find any sign of it in the project now. However, whenever I run the web app locally, I get in console the following message: Loading modules com.piq.exemity.Test [ERROR] Unable to find 'com/XXXXXX/Test.gwt.xml' on your classpath; could be a typo, or maybe you forgot to include a classpath entry for source? Has anyone got any idea where it can be hiding?

I have checked out the code in MSDN and found an example in which the System.ServiceProcess.ServiceBase class is sub-classed. I did the following. created a new C# console application copied the code from the MSDN example Run I get the following error The type or namespace name 'ServiceProcess' does not exist in the namespace 'System'(are you missing an assembly reference?) As i had copied the example from MSDN, i have no idea why the code still does not work. This is my first experience writing services and i`d love some guidance. thnkx!

• System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Debug() stopped working

  I'm working on a program which uses the System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Break() method to allow the user to set a breakpoint from the command-line. This has worked fine for many weeks now. However, when I was working on fixing a unit test today, I tried to use the debug switch from the command-line, and it didn't work. Here's what I've tried: I've confirmed that the Debug() method is really being called (by putting a System.Console.WriteLine() after it) I've confirmed that the build is still in Debug I've done a clean build I've restarted Product Studio A quick Google search didn't reveal anything, and the API documentation for .Net doesn't mention anything about this function not performing correctly. So... any ideas?
