  • Linking error while using Qt static built libraries

    I hope this is not a duplicate. Recently I'm developing a native C++ application using Qt 4.8.3 and VS2008. Since clients run the application on their naked machines, they need to install VC++ 2008 Redistribution package. So I decided to make it statically linked. I changed my project settings (C/C++ Code Generation Runtime Library) to /MTd. Also I compiled Qt again, this time using following commands for a static building; originally found on this blog Static Qt with static CRT (VS 2008) 1- replaced -MD with -MT in lines QMAKE_CFLAGS_RELEASE and QMAKE_CFLAGS_DEBUG in %QDIR%\mkspecs\win32-msvc2008\qmake.conf 2- nmake confclean 3- configure -static -platform win32-msvc2008 -no-webkit 4- nmake sub-src I compiled Qt successfully. But when I tried again to compile my application, it gave me some strange errors. 1>Linking... 1>qtmaind.lib(qtmain_win.obj) : error LNK2005: "public: bool __thiscall QBasicAtomicInt::deref(void)" (?deref@QBasicAtomicInt@@QAE_NXZ) already defined in QtCored4.lib(QtCored4.dll) 1>qtmaind.lib(qtmain_win.obj) : error LNK2005: "public: bool __thiscall QBasicAtomicInt::operator!=(int)const " (??9QBasicAtomicInt@@QBE_NH@Z) already defined in QtCored4.lib(QtCored4.dll) 1>qtmaind.lib(qtmain_win.obj) : error LNK2005: "public: __thiscall QString::~QString(void)" (??1QString@@QAE@XZ) already defined in QtCored4.lib(QtCored4.dll) I changed some lib files but with each change, situation got worse; for example I tried to use QtCored.lib instead of QtCored4.lib because it is newly created after compilation. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?)". I don't know why. Previous I used VisualStudio 2010 but my trial has expired. Is there any hope to run this on SharpDevelop?

  • Choosing a VS project type (C++)

    Hi all, I do not use C++ much (I try to stick to the easier stuff like Java and VB.NET), but the lately I have not had a choice. When I am picking a project type in VS for some C++ source I download, what project type should I pick? I had just been sticking with Win32 Console Applications, but I just downloaded some code (below) that will not work right even when it compiles with out errors. I have tried to use a CLR Console Application and an empty project too, and have changed many variables along the way, but I cannot get this code to work. I noticed that this code does not have "int main()" at its beginning, does that have something to do with it?   • Test multiple domains using ASP.NET development server

    I am developing a single web application that will dynamically change its content depending on which domain name is used to reach the site. Multiple domains will point to the same application. I wish to use the following code (or something close) to detect the domain name and perform the customizations: string theDomainName = Request.Url.Host; switch (theDomainName) { case "www.clientone.com": // do stuff break; case "www.clienttwo.com": // do other stuff break; } I would like to test the functionality of the above using the ASP.NET development server. I created mappings in the local HOSTS file to map www.clientone.com to 127.0.0.1, and www.clienttwo.com to 127.0.0.1. I then browse to the application with the browser using www.clinetone.com (etc). When I try to test this code using the ASP.net development server the URL always says localhost. It does NOT capture the host entered in the browser, only localhost. Is there a way to test the URL detection functionality using the development server? Thanks.

The change event does not get fired when formulas change (i.e. a slider control causes a SheetCalculate event and not a SheetChange event) Is there a way to see what formulas were updated? Or is there an easier way to sync two workbooks programmatically in real time?

  • permutations gone wrong

    I have written code to implement an algorithm I found on string permutations. What I have is an arraylist of words ( up to 200) and I need to permutate the list in levels of 5. Basically group the string words in fives and permutated them. What I have takes the first 5 words generates the permutations and ignores the rest of the arraylist? Any ideas appreciated.     In TFS 2008, I am trying to modify a build script (TFSBuild.proj). I get the following warning: The element 'PropertyGroup' in namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003' has invalid child element 'TeamProject' in namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003'. Which is correct, The element PropertyGroup does indeed have a child called TeamProject. I’m making an assumption that this is caused because of the following line: <Project DefaultTargets="DesktopBuild" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003" ToolsVersion="3.5"> The Xml Namespace doesn’t appear to exist as far as I can tell, although it looks like a standard one. Please can anyone tell me if this is a standard XML namespace, how or where I can view its contents and whether the warning that I am seeing may be caused by it?

Knowing i can rewrite file.ext to file.ext.lnk i thought it was a great idea. Then i tried it, my server (VS 2010rc) serves the shortcut rather then the file. Not what i wanted... How do i serve the file the shortcut is pointing to? NOTE: I am planing to use windows 2008 as my server so a solution should work on that as well. The OS i am running is windows 7.

    I need to build an AJAX application against our MS SQL Server database for my company. the app has to have user permissions and reporting and is pretty complex. I am really under the gun in terms of time. The company that I work for needs the app for an important project launch. A colleague/friend of mine in a different company recommended that I look at a product from Alpha Software called Alpha Five v10 with Codeless AJAX. He has told me that he has used it extensively and that it saves him a "serious boat load of time" and he says that he has not run into limitations because you can also write your own JavaScript or you wire in jQuery.     After installing VS 2010 trial I am getting this error "Generic Host Process For Win32 Services Encountered A Problem and needs to close. When this message pops my computer just stuck and I can not even restart it normally. I have found one fix on net but after that fix I can not access my LAN. This fix change these values in registry. HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\netbt\parameters TransportBindName HKLM\Software\Microsoft\OLE EnableDCOM If I revert these registry changes then I again start getting 'Generic Host Process For Win32 Services' I have uninstall VS 2010 but this problem persist. This problem is not because of any virus. Any help to fix this or I have to re install Windows. Thanks.

    I have a problem practically identical to this question, but I'm looking for a different solution. Instead of turning it off globally, I'd like to just disable it for a single line. I know I have seen many examples where various techniques are used to suppress different warnings, and I am looking for one that I can put in my CSS to suppress this one. Examples of ways to suppress warnings and such #pragma warning disable 659 or [SuppressMessage("Microsoft.Usage", "CA2214:DoNotCallOverridableMethodsInConstructors", Justification = "I have a good reason.")]. The CSS I want it to be quiet about has some CSS3 stuff in it which is why it's understandably complaining: .round { border-radius: 5px; -webkit-border-radius: 5px; -moz-border-radius: 5px; } So any idea how to make my Error 1 Validation (CSS 2.1): 'border-radius' is not a known CSS property name error go away? I'd rather not lose all of my CSS validations but I do want it to ignore this one "problem".

    I need to build an AJAX application against our MS SQL Server database for my company. the app has to have user permissions and reporting and is pretty complex. I am really under the gun in terms of time. The company that I work for needs the app for an important project launch. A colleague/friend of mine in a different company recommended that I look at a product from Alpha Software called Alpha Five v10 with Codeless AJAX. He has told me that he has used it extensively and that it saves him a "serious boat load of time" and he says that he has not run into limitations because you can also write your own JavaScript or you wire in JQERY.
