  • Would the instance reference parameters passed into the static methods get garbage collected?

    I know that the static objects in .Net managed world are loaded in Loader Heap which is never going to be garbage collected. What happens to the instance reference parameters passed to a static methods. Are they get garbage collected once the static function executed completely Or they are going to live forever as those instance reference variables are once passed to static method?   • Python command line - add PYTHONPATH during module run

    I want to run: python somescript.py somecommand But, when I run this I need PYTHONPATH to include a certain directory. I can't just add it to my environment variables because the directory I want to add changes based on what project I'm running. Is there a way to alter PYTHONPATH while running a script? Note: I don't even have a PYTHONPATH variable, so I don't need to worry about appending to it vs overriding it during running of this script.

    Basically I want to use the WPF Binding framework to "observe" a property in the data context, and when that value changes to call an event handler. I do not actually want to bind it to any target. Sounds simple but from what I can see Binding is too coupled (to the visual tree and various other bits) to be able to use it flexibly. Any thoughts?

    hi, I'm using the following lines to store the location of an object. var lightboxTop = $('#lightbox').css('top'); var lightboxLeft = $('#lightbox').css(' left'); I'm successively moving this object in my element, and I want to restore it previous position with the stored variables. But, I'm afraid javascript is saving the values by reference so I lose the initial positions. Am I correct ? How can I solve this ? thanks

  • Javascript returns Nan in IE, FF ok

    im very new to javascript, and writing this script to add up a shopping cart and print out subtotals and totals. it works in FF but not in IE. this function is called by onclick of one of three select options with a value of 0-25. it is in a js file called in the head. what it does is get the selected values as variables, parseint them, adds and multiplies, and changes the innerHTML of the table to reflect the subtotals, and total. You can imagine how frustrating it is to be able to write the entire rest of the site beautifully, but then fail at adding 3 numbers together. help please!

    Howdie do, This is my first time dealing with MySQLi inserts. I had always used mysql and directly ran the queries. Apparently, not as secure as MySQLi. Anywho, I'm attempting to pass two variables into the database. For some reason my prepared statement keeps erroring out. I'm not sure if it's a syntax error, but the insert just won't work.
