• Problem with handling click event of bitmap

  i am using navigationClick method to handle click event of Bitmap images & Buttons it works fine when i dont use VerticalFieldManger .   I have a table which is built dynamically based on how much data is present, if at all. I want to be able to long press anywhere on a the table row to be able to get some options to delete or edit etc. Is this possible? Remember I need to do all this without setting any XML as its dynamically built.   I am having problems trying to use the regular expression that I used in JavaScript. On a web page, you may have: <b>Renewal Date:</b> 03 May 2010</td> I just want to be able to pull out the 03 May 2010, remembering that a webpage has more than just the above content. The way I currently perform this using JavaScript is: DateStr = /<b>Renewal Date:<\/b>(.+?)<\/td>/.exec(returnedHTMLPage); I tried to follow some tutorials on java.util.regex.Pattern and java.util.regex.Matcher with no luck.   I have two tables, related by a common key. So TableA has key AID and value Name and TableB has keys AID, BID and values Name, Value: AID Name 74 Alpha AID BID Name Value 74 4 Beta Brilliance I would like to update the TableB Value here from Brilliance to Barmy, using just the Name fields. I thought I could do it via an UPDATE containing a JOIN, but Access (I know...) is complaining with 'Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression ' and then everything from 'Barmy' here: UPDATE tB SET tB.BValue='Barmy' FROM TableB tB INNER JOIN TableA tA ON tB.AID=tA.AID WHERE tB.Name='Beta' AND tA.Name='Alpha'; What is my heinous crime? Or is it just Access not conforming?

  Hello, I am looking for a way to get words out of a sentence. I am pretty far with the following expression: \b([a-zA-Z]+?)\b but there are some occurrences that it counts a word when I want it not to. E.g a word followed by more than one period like "text..". So, in my regex I want to have the period to be at the end of a word zero or one time. Inserting .? did not do the trick, and variations on this have not yielded anything fruitful either. Hope someone can help!

  I have a method that checks certain things and returns a Boolean based on those checks. It involves a single branching If section that checks about 5 conditions in sequence. If any of those conditions return true, then the method will return true;. If none of the conditions return true, then the method will return false;. Since the code after the If section will only run if none of the conditions are true, then that code is logically identical to including an actual Else statement. So is it a better idea to actually write in the Else statement for this kind of situation?

  Hi, I'm maintaining a vb6 project(ActiveX DLL). When debugging, the app run into the following function: Public Function HasValue(ByVal vValue) As Boolean On Error GoTo Err If IsMissing(vValue) Then HasValue = False ElseIf IsNull(vValue) Or Len(vValue) = 0 Then HasValue = False ElseIf isEmpty(vValue) Then HasValue = False Else HasValue = True End If Exit Function Err: If IsArray(vValue) Or IsObject(vValue) Then HasValue = True Else HasValue = False End If End Function and it stops at the line ElseIf IsNull(vValue) Or Len(vValue) = 0 Then vValue is a custom object, contains some properties(obviously, not null). Although I didn't put any break point there, the app stopped there and alerted error dialog saying that "Run-time error '438': Object doesn't support this property or method". We had error handling code but the app didn't run to error handling code. It just stopped at the line causing the error and I had to stop the application. Do you have any idea about that?   Say I have a select statement that goes.. select * from animals That gives a a query result of all the columns in the table. Now, if the 42nd column of the table animals is is_parent, and I want to return that in my results, just after gender, so I can see it more easily. But I also want all the other columns. select is_parent, * from animals This returns ORA-00936: missing expression. The same statement will work fine in Sybase, and I know that you need to add a table alias to the animals table to get it to work ( select is_parent, a.* from animals ani), but why must Oracle need a table alias to be able to work out the select?

However the user can write some cases eg (ASTO.value>440) || (ASTO.bellowNormal) etc... The problem is that before running the script from my JAVA application using ScriptEngine i want to get the names of all the variables! Because i should know which variables are required for the script to run... I know that a regular expression would do the job but i amnt sure... • Regexp in iOS to find comments

  I am trying to find and process 'java-style' comments within a string in objective-C. I have a few regex snippets which almost work but I am stuck on one hurdle: different options seem to make the different styles work. For example, I am using this to match: NSArray* matches = [[NSRegularExpression regularExpressionWithPattern:expression options:NSRegularExpressionAnchorsMatchLines error:nil] matchesInString:string options:0 range:searchRange]; The options here allow me successfully find and process single line comments (//) but not multiline (/* */), if I change the option to NSRegularExpressionDotMatchesLineSeparators then I can make multiline work fine but I can't find the 'end' of a single line comment. I suppose really I need dot-matches-line-separators but I need a better way of finding the end of a single line comment? The regexp I have so far are: @"/\\*.*?\\*/" @"//.*$" it's clear to see if dot matches a line separator then the second one (single line) never 'finishes' but how do I fix this? I found some suggestions for single line that were more like: @"(\/\/[^"\n\r]*(?:"[^"\n\r]*"[^"\n\r]*)*[\r\n])" But that doesn't' seem to work at all! Thanks in advance for any pointers.

• VB.NET Use WebRequest to check if URI is valid

  Looking for the best way to determine if a URI exists in VB.NET without downloading the actual content. System.IO.FileExists/My.Computer.FileSystem.FileExists can be used locally to determine if a file exists, is there an equivalent for the Web? Currently I am using a HttpWebRequest to check URI existance using the ResponseStream. This populates the stream if the target does exist and throws an exception if it doesn't. The function is being expanded to also check for PDF files (typically 5MB +), images, etc and it will be a waste of time/bandwidth to actually populate the content into a stream. In the case of "Success" (the target does exist) I do not wish to download the file or page, simply to end up with a Boolean which indicates the whether something exists at the end of this URI.
