  Background: I'm trying to come up with a regex for a rewrite rule that will take anything that does not start with a particular prefix, and add that prefix to it. But urls that already have the prefix should be rejected by the regular expression (because they already have the url). Example: If the prefix is s1 a string like home will capture the home part. But a string like s1/home, will not capture anything. This way I can add the capture group onto the prefix, so that 'home' will become 's1/home'. I've tried (^s1/), but I'm missing something here, because that rejected 'home' for some reason.

  It's been a few years since I've been heavily into Java. Coming back to it I'm seeing this pattern all over the place: ratingBar.setOnRatingBarChangeListener(new OnRatingBarChangeListener() { public void onRatingChanged(RatingBar ratingBar, float rating, boolean fromUser) { // do work } }); This looks more like Functional programming to me. It's a nice pattern but how is it possible to pass a method like this? In the old days a class was a class, and once compiled there was little you could do to it. My questions are: Can anyone let me know what this pattern is called? How can I write a class that can be instantiated in this way. Are there any other useful examples of functional patterns that have made their way into Java? What do I need to Google to read more about this? Thanks.

  Im trying to do a simple game where I continually need input from players. This needs to happen during a certain time period only. Everything that is sent after that will be discarded. After the time period a new game starts. So: Start game Wait for input from all players during 10 seconds 10 secs no more input Calculate the winner and do some stuff Goto 1. I was thinking using a timer and timertask to keep track of time and maybe use a boolean variable that changes from "open" to "closed" after 10 seconds? Please give me some advise on this.

My problem is, I want to expand the list view on click of the button below instead of the group element. Also, The group element onClick needs to call another activity.   Before you say "oh no, not again" here I'm stating my case. I'm parsing part of HTML output and the only thing I'm interested in is name and value attributes of each <input/ tag. HTML is actually HTML fragment, may not be well-formed. I don't have DOM or HTML parser and I don't try to parse nested elements anyway. The problem is that I don't know the order or number of attributes so it could be <input name="foo" value="boo"/> or <input type="hidden" name=foo> or <input id=blah value='boo' src="image.png" name="foo" type="img"/>. Is there a single regular expression that would get me values of name and value attribute in predictable order? I wouldn't have asked the question if I could assume that name attribute always precedes value but unfortunately this is not the case

  What I want is to use a boolean value from applicationContext.xml (Jboss configuration file) in my javascript. Currently I use Spring to inject a value configured in applicationContext.xml into my backingbean. Then I put an output text in my jsp like this <h:outputText id="idValue" styleClass="foo" value="" rendered="#{bean.isRendered}"/> In my JavaScript I try following jQuery(function(){ bRedirect = jQuery("#foo").value != undefined; ... All this looks so terrible to me, even though it works fine. There must be a smarter way than doing what I do. Note that I am running JSF1.2 and therefore must use jQuery instead of $ and also select by unique class (foo) and not by id, which may be bad practice as well. Thank you in advance. alfons

  I have a classifieds system I'm working on. People are able to add photos to a classified, but I only display one when displaying the list of classifieds. To do that, I have a linking table between classifieds and photos that has a "is_main" boolean field. When someone deletes one of their classified photos, I want to: 1) See if there is more than that photo tied to the classified. 2) If there is, update the next photo and set that "is_main" field to TRUE.   I have a class based on database values. I'm using __set to automatically sync database values with the class properties. Set checks an array of database fields that it is allowed to update in the database. The field 'id' isn't in the list, so __set will throw an exception if you try to do $objDbRow->id = 5;. However, there is one time when I do want to set the id property of the object, and that's on instantiation. So in __constuct, I have $this->id = $id (where $id is passed to __construct). However, __set seems to be intercepting the setting here, because an exception is being thrown on construction. What's the way to get around this? I suppose I also have a boolean flag, like $instantiated, that __set() would check before it does it's field whitelist checking. But that feels inelegant.

  I'm pretty new to regular expressions, and MAN do they give me a headache. They are so intimidating! For an email campaign I'm doing, a user will click a link out of the email with a few URL parameters filled in for them, to make filling out a form easier. I want to prevent any injection hacks or whatever it's called, but need to allow the $_GET parameters to be alphanumeric, have punctuation, and have spaces. If someone has a good method for this, I'd appreciate it, but right now I have: foreach($_GET as $m=>$n) { $get[$m] = preg_replace('(^[a-z0-9 \-\_\.]+)i',' ',$n); } I would like to be able to replace all characters NOT found with this regular expression, which I believe I use ?!, but I can't get that to work either.   For a project at university I plan to build an annotation based tool to visualize/play around with data structures. Here's my idea: Students which want to try out their self-written data structures need to: mark the type of their data structures using some sort of marker annotation e.g. @List public class MyList { ... } so that I know how to represent the data structure need to provide an iterator so that I can retrieve the elements in the right order need to annotate methods for insertion and removal, e.g. @add public boolean insert(E e) { ... } so that I can "bind" that method to some button. Do similar applications exist? I googled a little bit around but didn't find anything like that.

Any solution how to fix this? Edit: My current solution is using a boolean and negate the recognizer.rotation value in handleRotate method. But I am still looking for the technical solution.

But this does work: <uc:usercontrol runat="server" id="usercontrol1"/> And in code behind page_load: usercontrol1.message = Me.protectedVariable Do I have to bind from the code-behind? Is this a page life cycle issue?

I tried what was on the php.net manual and did this: preg_match($pattern, $fread, $matches); then when I echoed $matches I got "Array" message. So I tried a foreach loop and when that didn't display anything I tried $matches[0] and that too outputted nothing. So how does one go about displaying the matches found?
