    I have a table of tags ID tag --- ------ 1 tagt 2 tagb 3 tagz 4 tagn In my items table, I'm using those tags in serialized format, comma delimited ID field1 tags ---- ------ ----- 1 value1 tagt,tagb 2 value2 tagb 3 value3 tagb,tagn 4 value4 When I need to find items that have this tag, I plan to deserialize the tags. But I'm not actually sure how to do it, and if it's better to have a third table for associations instead between the tags and the items.

    I would like to split a string using multiple chars to split upon. For example, consider spin text format: This is a {long|ugly|example} string I would want to parse this string and split it on the "{", "|", and "}" chars myString.Split('|','{','}') Now I have tokens to play with, but what I would like is to retain the info about which char was used to split each piece of the array that is returned. Any existing code that can do something like this?

So I need to do two things. How can I create a new log file each day? The log file will be have the name in a format like MMDDYYYY.txt How can I create it just after midnight in case it is running into all hours of the night?

    I am a newbie in Python. I want to substract interval time from my log file, but the problem is I cannot convert millisecond string of log file into datetime format. For example, I have 15:55:05.12345 and I want to remove 5.12345 seconds from this string, and shwow result of 15.55.00.00000 in Python. How can I do that? Currently, I am using python 2.5.   • Using C# with Crystal Reports, How Can I Create 4-Up Subreports?

    The simplest example that I can provide for what I want to do is this: I need to create a Report, whose only requirement is that I have (4) of the same subreport on the page (imagine 4 portrait-oriented post cards on a page), each quadrant using a separate row from my datatable, yet all 4 are identical in terms of fields. If there are more than 4, it needs to carry over to a new page with the same format. I'm using C# and the built-in Crystal Reports Basic for the task.

  • VWD 2008 Express : where can i set absolute positioning as a default?

    So when I used Visual Web Developer 2005 Express edition, in the ribbon there was a menu option for "Layout", which you could go through and select positioning and set absolute to default. I am using Visual Web Developer 2008 Express now, and I see that you can select format from the menu bar, and set position absolute, for each individual control that you add to the design surface, but is there a place I can just set absolute as the default, like in 2005? Not every user can have every balance i.e. outer joins required.   • Using an ampersand in scanf()

    When I compile scanf("%s", &var);, gcc sends back a warning: warning: format ‘%s’ expects type ‘char *’, but argument 2 has type ‘char (*)[20]’ however when I compile scanf("%s", var);, no warning is applied. Both pieces of code work and the book I am reading specifically says to use the ampersand, but even it doesn't in some of the examples. My question is, should I continue to use the ampersand, even when the book doesn't specify?

    I have legacy system where all date fields are maintained in YMD format. Example: 20101123 this is date: 11/23/2010 I'm looking for most optimal way to convert from number to date field. Here is what I came up with: declare @ymd int set @ymd = 20101122 select @ymd, convert(datetime, cast(@ymd as varchar(100)), 112) This is pretty good solution but I'm wandering if someone has better way doing it

    I'm having trouble figuring out the syntax for a JScript .NET dictionary object. I have tried private var myDictionary: Dictionary<string><string>; but the compiler complains that it's missing a semicolon and that the Dictionary object is not declared. I know JScript does have a native dictionary-like object format, but I'm not sure if there are disadvantages to using it instead of the .NET-specific construct. I.e., what if someone wants to extend my script using another .NET language?
