  How can I convert this Perl code to Groovy? How to bypass confirmation prompts of an external process? I am trying to convert a Perl script to Groovy. The program is loading/delete maestro (job scheduling) jobs automatically. The problem is the delete command will prompt for confirmation (Y/N) on every single job that it finds. I tried the process execute in groovy but will stop at the prompts. The Perl script is writing bunch of Ys to the stream and print it to the handler( if I understood it correctly) to avoid stopping. I am wondering how to do the same thing in Groovy ? Or any other approach to execute a command and somehow write Y on every confirmation prompt. • How to stop tcpdump remotely using expect from a new telnet session

  I am trying to stop the tcpdump command from running on a remote terminal. If I telnet to the terminal, start tcpdump, and then send a ^c, tcpdump stops with no issues. However if I telnet to the same terminal, start tcpdump, and then exit the telnet session, when I reconnect to the same telnet session I am unable to stop tcpdump via a ^c. When I do this instead of stopping tcpdump it seems that it just quits the telnet session and tcpdump continues to run on the remote terminal. I provided my script below.   Hi, everyone I am using BlazeDS for data-push feature in my Flex application project. From the official tutorial, Getting started with BlazeDS, it shows messaging example with producer/consumer from API. but how can I implement server side which doesn't need to be invoke from Flex client, but from within server-side instead. I got some idea but I don't know how to do because I'm a Flex developer, not Java developer, so I think you can help me. In Google, there's a tutorial show about I need to extend ServiceAdapter class in Java-side, which extends Invoke method. Do I need to extend other class instead of this to do what I want? How to configure the message-config.xml to get the result like I describe above?

  so I have this problem in running my Spring WS app which implements JPA ( or should implement..) I have a problem with running a WS, it looks like my Spring context can't find file persistence.xml Which i am able to believe because i did not have generated META-INF folder in my template (which is Maven project template with archetype org.springframework.ws) I have created META-INF manually. • Will running aspnet_regiis.exe -ir create any problems?

  Hi there. I've asked a question about changing the version of .Net sites in the IIS. If it affects classic asp sites etc (See Does asp.net setting affect classic asp (IIS 6 settings)) And that seems fine. So my follow-up question is, will running this command get me fired? What it does is changing the default value (and all existing?) of the .net version to 2.0. This wont affect any of the .net sites since they're allready versioned to 2.0. The classic asp pages needs to get its app pools updated so its functionoal with 2.0 but may I run into any other troubles? I've tried doing this on a test environment and no sites whet down during the installation period (from the command) but I did not have any classic asp sites or any .net sites running though (which I should test, come to think about it) but may something else break? Is this command doing anything else? We have some very large sites running and we cannot have downtime periods so I need to be 100% sure that this command is safe. Since all sites go down everytime we change a new sites .net version number we need to get this fix live asap. Any good ideas?

I am working on NetBeans 6.8 with Personal Glassfish 3.0 and I have installed on my system both the Java EE and the Java SE.   I have a case where I want to verify that a method that takes a Delegate parameter is called. I don't care about the particular Delegate parameter supplied I just want to make sure that the method is in fact called. The method looks like this: public interface IInvokerProxy{ void Invoke(Delegate method); ... } I would like to do something like this: invokerProxyMock.Verify( proxy => proxy.Invoke( It.IsAny<Delegate>)); Currently it gives me an error Argument '1': cannot convert from 'method group' to 'System.Delegate'. Does anyone know if this is possible?

  I am trying to use the unmanaged ImageMagick library in my ASP.NET application from the command line using System.Diagnostics.Process. Basically, users will upload an .eps file to the site, and then I will run the command line command to convert it into .jpg. I get the error "System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: Access is denied". The main between the two servers is that the production is 64-bit and runs Plesk to manage multiple domains. I've tried adding rights asp.net user to the ImageMagick directory. The PS Admin says that in the case of Plesk, it's the same account that I use to access the site in VS using FPE. Does anyone know what I might do in order to allow this process to run on my production server? Thanks, Mike

• Brainstorming: Weird JPA problem, possibly classpath or jar versioning problem???

  I'm seeing a weird error message and am looking for some ideas as to what the problem could be. I'm sort of new to using the JPA. I have an application where I'm using Spring's Entity Manager Factory (LocalContainerEntityManagerFactoryBean), EclipseLink as my ORM provider, connected to a MySQL DB and built with Maven. I'm not sure if any of this matters..... When I deploy this application to Glassfish, the application works as expected. The problem is, I've created a set of stand alone unit tests to run outside of Glassfish that aren't working correctly. I get the following error (I've edited the class names a little) com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity cannot be cast to com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity The object cannot be cast to a class of the same type? How can that be? • Crashes when using AVAudioPlayer on iPhone

  Hi all, I am trying to use AVAudioPlayer to play some sounds in quick succession. When I invoke the sound-playing function less frequently so that the sounds play fully before the function is invoked again, the application runs fine. But if I invoke the function quickly in rapid succession (so that sounds are played while the previous sounds are still being played), the app eventually crashes after ~20 calls to the function, with the message "EXC_BAD_ACCESS". • Sharepoint OLE DB - cannot insert records? "Field not updateable" error

  I need to write a simple C# .NET application to retrieve, update, and insert some data in a Sharepoint list. I am NOT a Sharepoint developer, and I don't have control over our Sharepoint server. I would prefer not to have to develop this in a proper sharepoint development environment simply because I don't want to have to deploy my application on the Sharepoint server -- I'd rather just access data externally. Anyway, I found out that you can access Sharepoint data using OLE DB, and I tried it successfully using some ADO.NET: var db = DatabaseFactory.CreateDatabase(); DataSet ds = new DataSet(); using (var command = db.GetSqlStringCommand("SELECT * FROM List")) { db.LoadDataSet(command, ds, "List"); } The above works. However, when I try to insert: using (var command = db.GetSqlStringCommand("INSERT INTO List ([HeaderName], [Description], [Number]) VALUES ('Blah', 'Blah', 100)")) { db.ExecuteNonQuery(command); } I get this error: Cannot update 'HeaderName'; field not updateable. I did some Googling and apparently you cannot insert data through OLE DB! Does anyone know if there are some possible workarounds? I could try using Sharepoint Web Services, but I tried that initially and was having a heck of a time authenticating. Is that my only option?

  I have a python source distribution, and it depends on some other modules that I've also made. The directory tree looks like this. I've written a setup.py file for one of those modules (pydirac225, for those of you who are following along at home), and I want to have that setup.py called from the main setup.py? Another module dependency (pysoundtouch14) has a setup.py file, but the contents of it are basically pasted into the main setup.py script. It seems more modular to allow each of these components to specify how they are set up, and allow the main setup file to invoke their setup scripts individually. Is there a standard way to deal with this issue? To recap: I have some code that depends on other modules: should the other module's setup code go in the main setup.py, or is there a way to have my code's setup.py invoke their setup.py files?

Here is the weird thing: I KNOW the user (user1) I authenticate with has administrative rights (it's the same user I use to log on the machine with), but the user of the process in procmon says NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM (which is not the user i use to authenticate). Weirdest: If i log on to the server, copy the command line value read from the procmon logging, and paste it in a command line window, it works! Reading procmon after this shows that user1 owns the dnscmd process. Why doesn't user1 become owner of the process started with system.diagnostics.process? Is the reason why the command doesn't work?

• Aplication Process never Terminates on each run

  i am seeing an application always remains live even after closing the application using my below perl script.Also for the subsequent runs it always says that "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.iperf.exe -u -s -p 5001 successful. Output was:" so everytime i have to change the file name $file used in script or i have to kill the iperf.exe process in the Task Manager. could anybody please let me know the way to get rid of it ? • .Net opening and closing database connections

  I designed the data access portion of our framework so that every time a business object needs to interact with the database it would have to open a connection, invoke the data access layer (to execute the query), and then close the connection. Then if it needed to run in a transaction it would open the connection, begin the transaction, invoke the data access layer (to execute the query) and then commit the transaction, close the transaction, and finally close the connection. I did it this way with the mindset of open late and close early... but what if I needed to call other BO's to submit data in a single transaction? Is there a better way to handle opening and closing connections as well as working with transactions? I'm a rookie in designing application architecture so I hope I'm not doing this wrongly... any help is appreciated.

  How do you use this great new API in connection with Java? Do you use just pure native process API like nativeProcess.standardInput.write() and nativeProcess.standardOutput.read() with which you cannot debug Java side neither invoke remote java method. Or you are using some library that leverages remote method invocation such as flerry lib but that also cannot debug Java side? Or maybe you are using Merapi with which you can debug but cannot remotely invoke Java method? I'm asking this because this is maybe the most important question regarding this API and its ease of use.

  I want to create an app that contains a Service S and an Activity A. The Service S is responsible for preprocessing, such as preparing the data shown on the UI of the Activity A, before the Activity A gets invoked. I want to be able to invoke the Service S from outside the package, say from another Android app's Activity class B, do the preprocessing, and then when the data is ready, invoke Activity A. My questions are: What is the best way to share data between the Service S and Activity A? How can the external activity B communicate with the Service S to determine if it has completed with all its preprocessing, and the Activity A is ready to be invoked? Thanks Chris

  Hi, I have a requirement to actually generalise the endpoints of different WCF services,create a proxy and invoke the action. We have like 4 pages and 4 services to serve those pages. For each n every page we have to call the specific service endpoint and invoke the action Example:: private IList<FunctionCodes> i_oFunctionList; ChannelFactory<IFunctionService> m_oFunctionFactory; IFunctionService m_oFunctionProxy; m_oFunctionFactory = new ChannelFactory("FunctionServiceEndPoint"); i_oFunctionList= m_oFunctionProxy.GetAllFunction(iFirstResult, iMaxPageSize, "", "", "", out iRows); BindGrid bindGrid = new BindGrid(DisplayGrid1); bindGrid.DataTable = BuildDataTable(i_oFunctionList); So the requirement is we want to move this section(binding the grid) to a user control, generalising the endpoints, create the proxy and implement.
