  • Dolphin Search Toolbar is missing its text field. How can I get it back?

    - by Ike
A while ago, my Search Toolbar bar went missing in dolphin. I'm referring to the Search Toolbar found under SettingsToolbars ShownSearch Toolbar. I used to sit at the very top right corner of the window. If the search toolbar is checked for view/unhide, the toolbar looks to activate something, as there is a slight shift in the interface buttons, but the text field is gone from the toolbar. I tried reconfiguring with dpkg, purging and reinstalling, etc. I left it alone as I thought it would be fixed in an update, but today I upgraded dolphin and it's still gone. This appears to be a 4.6 bug or something. Any thoughts?

  • Automation of software installation - should I ask for text or file?

    - by Denis
I am preparing a software installation in Windows environment for my application. During installation it asks for Subscriber ID which should be entered into text field. I am wondering if it is a best solution for mass installations. I know that for mass installations IT teams use systems like Microsoft System Center which allow automate deployment. But I do not know much about capabilities of such systems. Can such system automate data entry into the text fields? Will it be better to change installation process and ask not a text but a file which contains Subscriber ID? By the way, I am looking for beta testers for my software. This software let user view Microsoft Project files without having Microsoft Project installed.

  • How to make a video card use DVI output by default in text mode?

    - by Igor Zinov'yev
I have an ASUS ENGT440/DI1GD5 video card which has three outputs: DVI, D-Sub and HDMI. I am using both D-Sub and DVI, but my main monitor is connected to the DVI output. Everything works fine except for the text mode. The card somehow uses the D-Sub output in text mode when both monitors are connected (when I disconnect the D-Sub output and leave only the primary monitor connected to the DVI output, it's being used correctly). How do I make the card use only the DVI output (or both) in text mode?

  • How do I find all text with particular background color?

    - by Dave M G
I have a LibreOffice Writer document that has undergone a process of editing, and sections of the text that needed to be rewritten were highlighted in yellow. As I fixed those sections, I removed the yellow highlight. Now, I want to make sure there are no remaining areas of highlighted text that have not been fixed or possibly the highlight was not removed. It's many hundreds of pages, so a manual scan is unfeasible. Also, it might be that one space or one character got accidentally left highlighted, and I want to ensure I've accounted for them all. How can I search the document to find all instances where text has been highlighted?

  • How to highlight and collect highlighted text from webpages in Chrome?

    - by verve
Is there a way to highlight lines of text in a Chrome webpage in various colours with a keyboard only or with a mouse only? I want to highlight lines of text and I want the highlights to show up every time I visit the same site. Also, I want a backup feature so I never lose highlights. And, I want to be able to press a button in the app that will download all the highlighted text bits to a document. Freeware or paidware. Stability of the product is important (losing hours of highlights is nuts). Need it to be efficient too. Chrome.

  • Can we have some "coming soon" text in our app? Will Apple reject it? [closed]

    - by Pedro
We're getting ready to push our app live. There's some functionality that's not ready yet; it's accessory, not crucial to the user, but it does provide some interesting context. If I have a button with the name of the feature (e.g., "Panoramic Views") and a "COMING SOON" label stuck over it, will Apple reject the submission? What if instead of a button it's just a text label somewhere announcing "Panoramic Views coming soon!"? I've seen some material online saying that "coming soon" is a no-no but all I could find in Apple's guidelines themselves was 2.9, "Apps that are "beta", "demo", "trial", or "test" versions will be rejected". Which is certainly not the case! Thanks in advance, any help greatly appreciated.

  • UITabbleView Sections /cellForRowAtIndexPath method

    - by treasure
    hello, i have a sectioned tableview in a detailviewcontroller where i load some data in the first section. this is my code: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleValue2 reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; } // For the Ingredients section, if necessary create a new cell and configure it with an additional label for the amount. Give the cell a different identifier from that used for cells in other sections so that it can be dequeued separately. if (indexPath.section == PARAMETERS_SECTION) { switch(indexPath.row) { case 0: cell.textLabel.text = @"Pili"; cell.textLabel.numberOfLines = 1; cell.textLabel.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentLeft; cell.detailTextLabel.text = entity.stid; cell.detailTextLabel.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:12]; cell.detailTextLabel.numberOfLines = 2; break; case 1: cell.textLabel.text = @"Pele"; cell.textLabel.numberOfLines = 1; cell.textLabel.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentLeft; cell.detailTextLabel.text = entity.arec; cell.detailTextLabel.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:11]; cell.detailTextLabel.numberOfLines = 5; break; case 2: cell.textLabel.text = @"Pale"; cell.textLabel.numberOfLines = 1; cell.textLabel.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentLeft; cell.detailTextLabel.text = entity.wer; cell.detailTextLabel.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:11]; cell.detailTextLabel.numberOfLines = 3; break; case 3: cell.textLabel.text = @"Pole"; cell.textLabel.numberOfLines = 1; cell.textLabel.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentLeft; cell.detailTextLabel.text = entity.groid; cell.detailTextLabel.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:11]; cell.detailTextLabel.numberOfLines = 3; break; default: break; } if (indexPath.section == NOTES_SECTION) { NSString *text = nil; text = @"User Notes"; cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryDisclosureIndicator; cell.editingAccessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryNone; cell.selectionStyle = UITableViewCellSelectionStyleBlue; cell.textLabel.text = text; } if (indexPath.section == EVALUATION_SECTION) { NSString *text = nil; text = @"Evaluation"; cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryDisclosureIndicator; cell.editingAccessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryNone; cell.selectionStyle = UITableViewCellSelectionStyleBlue; cell.textLabel.text = text; } if (indexPath.section == CENTERING_SECTION) { NSString *text = nil; text = @"Centering"; cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryDisclosureIndicator; cell.editingAccessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryNone; cell.selectionStyle = UITableViewCellSelectionStyleBlue; cell.textLabel.text = text; } } return cell; } everything works ok for the first section. the rest of them seem to be "ignored" Can someone help me? thank you!

  • How do I make this scroll layout work?

    - by JuiCe
    I am currently trying to get my UI to have a Title Bar, a bottom Button bar, with a ScrollView in between. I can get bits and pieces of it to work, but once I get a different piece working, the old part goes back to not showing up. Here is a picture of my UI on the left, with what I want it to look like on the right...(sorry for the sloppiness, I edited it in MS Paint :P ) To sum it up, I want the Version and Type fields to be moved with room for the other TextViews in the XML file, and I want both buttons to appear on the bottom bar. EDIT : The buttons on the bottom should be equal in size, I'm not too talented in making boxes in MS Paint EDIT 2 : Sorry....here is my XML file <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:orientation="vertical" android:weightSum="1.0" > <LinearLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" > <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_horizontal" android:text="SN : " /> <TextView android:id="@+id/serialNumberView" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_horizontal" /> <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_horizontal" android:text="Ver : " /> <TextView android:id="@+id/versionView" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_horizontal" /> <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_horizontal" android:text="Type : " /> <TextView android:id="@+id/typeView" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_horizontal" /> </LinearLayout> <ScrollView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_weight="1" > <LinearLayout android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_weight="1"> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/floatCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Float" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/tripCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Trip" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/closeCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Close" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/blockedCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Blocked" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/hardTripCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Hard Trip" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/phaseAngleCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Phase angle wrong for closing" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/diffVoltsCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Differential volts too low" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/networkVoltsCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Network volts too low to close" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/usingDefaultsCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Using Defaults( Reprogram )" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/relaxedCloseActiveCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Relaxed Close Active" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/commBoardDetectedCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Comm Board Detected" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/antiPumpBlock" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Anti-Pump Block" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/motorCutoffCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Motor Cutoff Inhibit" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/phaseRotationCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Phase Rotation Wrong" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/usingDefaultDNPCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text= "Using Default DNP Profile" /> </LinearLayout> </ScrollView> <LinearLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_weight="1" > <Button android:id="@+id/button3" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:text="Back" /> <Button android:id="@+id/button3" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:text="Read" /> </LinearLayout> </LinearLayout>

  • Why do jQuery fadeIn() and fadeOut() seem quirky in this example?

    - by Ben McCormack
I've been playing with jQuery in an ASP.NET project and am finding some odd behavior with the .fadeIn() and fadeOut() functions. In the below example, a click on the button (ID Button1) is supposed to cause both the span of text with ID Label1 and the the button with the ID TextBox1 to do the following things: Fade Out Change the text of both the text box and the span of text to be You clicked the button Fade In Based on the browser I'm using, I get 3 different scenarios, and each element functions differently in each situation. Here's what happens when I actually click the button: TextBox1: In IE8, the text box fades out, changes text, then fades back in In IE8 Compatibility View, the text box fades out, changes text, then fades back in. However, the text in the box looks a little different than before the button was clicked. In FireFox 3.5.8, the text box doesn't fade out (but it does "pause" for the amount of time the fade would take), does change the text, then seems to "pause" again where it would be fading in. Label1: In IE8, the label doesn't fade out (but it does "pause" for the amount of time the fade would take), does change the text, then seems to "pause" again where it would be fading in. In IE8 Compatibility View, the label does fade out, change text, and fades back in, but the text looks a little different than before the button was clicked. In FireFox 3.5.8, the label doesn't fade out (but it does "pause" for the amount of time the fade would take), does change the text, then seems to "pause" again where it would be fading in. Two questions: What's going in to make each element to behave differently in different browsers? Is there a better way to get the functionality I'm looking for across multiple platforms? Here's the source code of the file: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head><title> </title> <script src="http://ajax.microsoft.com/ajax/jQuery/jquery-1.4.1-vsdoc.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#Button1").click(function(event) { $("#Label1").fadeOut("slow", function() { $(this).text("You clicked the button"); $(this).fadeIn("slow"); }); $("#TextBox1").fadeOut("slow", function() { $(this).val("You clicked the button").fadeIn("slow"); $(this).fadeIn("slow"); }); event.preventDefault(); }); $("a").click(function(event) { $("#Label1").text("You clicked the link"); $("#TextBox1").val("You clicked the link"); event.preventDefault(); }); }); </script> </head> <body> <form name="form1" method="post" action="Default.aspx" id="form1"> <div> <input type="hidden" name="__VIEWSTATE" id="__VIEWSTATE" value="/wEPDwUJNTQwMjM5ODcyZGT6OfedWuFhLrSUyp+gwkCEueddvg==" /> </div> <div> <input type="hidden" name="__EVENTVALIDATION" id="__EVENTVALIDATION" value="/wEWAwK56uWtBwLs0bLrBgKM54rGBotkyyA5RRsPBGNaPTPCe7F5ARwv" /> </div> <div> <span id="Label1" style="color:#009900;">Type Something Here:</span> &nbsp; <a href="http://www.google.com">This is a test Link</a> <input name="TextBox1" type="text" value="test" id="TextBox1" style="width:258px;" /> <br /> <br /> <input type="submit" name="Button1" value="Button" id="Button1" /> </div> </form> </body> </html>

  • jQuery table replace

    - by Happy
    We have a table: <table> <tr> <td width="10">1</td> <td>text 1</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="10">2</td> <td>text 2</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="10">3</td> <td>text 3</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="10">4</td> <td>text 4</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="10">5</td> <td>text 5</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="10">6</td> <td>text 6</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="10">7</td> <td>text 7</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="10">8</td> <td>text 8</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="10">9</td> <td>text 9</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="10">10</td> <td>text 10</td> </tr> </table> We update this table by throwing into each <tr> 3 <td>, each <td> with width="10" attribute must be deleted. It must look like: <table> <tr> <td>text 1</td> <td>text 2</td> <td>text 3</td> </tr> <tr> <td>text 4</td> <td>text 5</td> <td>text 6</td> </tr> <tr> <td>text 7</td> <td>text 8</td> <td>text 9</td> </tr> <tr> <td>text 10</td> </tr> </table> How can we do this? Thanks.

  • Why does the interpretted order seem different from what I expect?

    - by inspectorG4dget
I have a problem that I have not faced before: It seems that the order of interpretation in my program is somehow different from what I expect. I have written a small Twitter client. It takes a few seconds for my program to actually post a tweet after I click the "GO" button (which can also be activated by hitting ENTER on the keyboard). I don't want to click multiple times within this time period thinking that I hadn't clicked it the first time. Therefore, when the button is clicked, I would like the label text to display something that tells me that the button has been clicked. I have implemented this message by altering the label text before I send the tweet across. However, for some reason, the message does not display until the tweet has been attempted. But since I have a confirmation message after the tweet, I never get to see this message and my original problem goes unsolved. I would really appreciate any help. Here is the relevant code: class SimpleTextBoxForm(Form): def init(self): # set window properties self.Text = "Tweeter" self.Width = 235 self.Height = 250 #tweet away self.label = Label() self.label.Text = "Tweet Away..." self.label.Location = Point(10, 10) self.label.Height = 25 self.label.Width = 200 #get the tweet self.tweetBox = TextBox() self.tweetBox.Location = Point(10, 45) self.tweetBox.Width = 200 self.tweetBox.Height = 60 self.tweetBox.Multiline = True self.tweetBox.WordWrap = True self.tweetBox.MaxLength = 140; #ask for the login ID self.askLogin = Label() self.askLogin.Text = "Login:" self.askLogin.Location = Point(10, 120) self.askLogin.Height = 20 self.askLogin.Width = 60 self.login = TextBox() self.login.Text= "" self.login.Location = Point(80, 120) self.login.Height = 40 self.login.Width = 100 #ask for the password self.askPass = Label() self.askPass.Text = "Password:" self.askPass.Location = Point(10, 150) self.askPass.Height = 20 self.askPass.Width = 60 # display password box with character hiding self.password = TextBox() self.password.Location = Point(80, 150) self.password.PasswordChar = "x" self.password.Height = 40 self.password.Width = 100 #submit button self.button1 = Button() self.button1.Text = 'Tweet' self.button1.Location = Point(10, 180) self.button1.Click += self.update self.AcceptButton = self.button1 #pack all the elements of the form self.Controls.Add(self.label) self.Controls.Add(self.tweetBox) self.Controls.Add(self.askLogin) self.Controls.Add(self.login) self.Controls.Add(self.askPass) self.Controls.Add(self.password) self.Controls.Add(self.button1) def update(self, sender, event): if not self.password.Text: self.label.Text = "You forgot to enter your password..." else: self.tweet(self.tweetBox.Text, self.login.Text, self.password.Text) def tweet(self, msg, login, password): self.label.Text = "Attempting Tweet..." # this should be executed before sending the tweet is attempted. For each of these html files I want to delete from the top of the file until the pattern <div id="left- This is my attempt from osx's terminal: find . -name "*.html" -exec sed "s/.*?<div id=\"left-col/<div id=\"left-col/g" '{}' \; I get a lot of html output in the termainal, but no files contain the substitution or are written Thanks

  • Chain of Responsibility Pattern: is it a good practice to have interdependent handlers?

    - by wei
I have this scenario: I have a chain of query handlers, the first is to query the cache, if the cache can't answer it or the answer is stale, then hit a database, if it can't find the answer or the answer is stale again, then query a remote web service. But I am not sure if this is the right way to use this pattern, since the work flow is pretty much fixed, and the cache and database handlers depend on the next step's return result to refresh its records.

  • Is there a Silverlight equivalent to "Application.OpenForms"?

    - by lightmeetsdark
Basically, I'm trying to take information entered by the user on one page and print it out to another page via a "printer friendly" version, or report, of something. I have a MainPage.xaml that is, as the name suggests, my main page, but in a window there is the subpage AdCalculator.xaml where the user enters the information and PrintEstimate.xaml that is navigated to via a button on AdCalculator. I would like to be able to transfer the information entered in the textboxes from AdCalculator and print it out via text blocks in PrintEstimate. So in order to do that I have the following code: Views.AdCalculator AdCalc = new Views.AdCalculator(); string PrintCompanyName = AdCalc.CompanyName; string PrintContactName = AdCalc.txt_CustomerName.Text; string PrintBillingAddress1 = AdCalc.txt_BillingAddress.Text; string PrintBillingAddress2 = AdCalc.txt_BillingAddressLine2.Text; string PrintPhoneNumber = AdCalc.txt_PhoneNumber.Text; string PrintNumOfAds = AdCalc.txt_NumofAds.Text; string PrintRateOfPlay = AdCalc.Cmb_Rate.SelectedValue.ToString(); string PrintNumOfMonths = AdCalc.txt_NumofMonths.Text; string PrintTotalDue = AdCalc.txt_InvoiceSummary_TotalDue.Text; PrintEstimate PrintEstimatePage = new PrintEstimate(); PrintEstimatePage.txt_CompanyName.Text = PrintCompanyName; PrintEstimatePage.txt_CustomerName.Text = PrintContactName; PrintEstimatePage.txt_BillingAddress.Text = PrintBillingAddress1; PrintEstimatePage.txt_BillingAddressLine2.Text = PrintBillingAddress2; PrintEstimatePage.txt_PhoneNumber.Text = PrintPhoneNumber; PrintEstimatePage.txt_InvoiceSummary_NumofAds.Text = PrintNumOfAds; PrintEstimatePage.txt_InvoiceSummary_RateofPlay.Text = PrintRateOfPlay; PrintEstimatePage.txt_InvoiceSummary_NumOfMonths.Text = PrintNumOfMonths; PrintEstimatePage.txt_EstimateTotal.Text = PrintTotalDue; Only problem is, when I instantiate the new AdCalculator page, it clears the values, so nothing is actually retained as far as user-input goes. Following a lead from a colleague, I believe all I need to do is change the line Views.AdCalculator AdCalc = new Views.AdCalculator(); to Views.AdCalculator AdCalc = (AdCalculator)Application.OpenForms["AdCalculator"]; except the "Apllication.OpenForms" doesn't register. I know there are a lot of differences in the way C# code-behind is laid out for silverlight applications, so I didn't know if there was an equivalent that anyone knew about to "Application.OpenForms" that would help solve my issue or if there was any other way to go about getting my task done. Thank you very much!
