  • DIV overlap on top of submit order INPUT button not working right in IE7

    - by Lauren
    I created a test account at www.avaline.com: username: [email protected] pass:test02 I'll keep the account around so you can see what's going on with this submit button without going through the registration process (and needing to fill in a fake address, etc). If logging in doesn't work, you can create your own test account though. Make sure at least one item is in your shopping cart, hit "proceed to checkout", and check off "PayPal" as your payment method (this way the payment won't go through for testing purposes). Once you're on the "review and submit" page, in IE7 (at least), hover over the "pay with Paypal" button, and you'll see that the cursor is a hand when you hover over the text or the button border, but it's a regular arrow when you hover over the button part. If you try clicking on the arrow-cursor area, you'll get the error that you should see...but if you click on the hand-cursor area, you get redirected to the paypal page. In FF, the #hidSubm DIV covers the "Pay with Paypal" button. Why isn't it working in IE7?

  • Creating a horizontal fluid layout in css that works like a table

    - by ivordesign
    Basically what i am after is a fluid solution in css, that is similar to the table layout below.The principal behind this layout is 3x3 grid where by a user can add content into the first fluid area and it will expand the complete width of the page. But if that user decides that he wants content in the 2nd and 3rd area, all 3 td's fill up 33% of the width. Effectively what i am asking is how do i create a css based layout that can do the same as the table layout? <table width="100%"> <tr> <td id="leftZone" > fluid area here </td> <td > fluid area here </td> <td id="rightZone"> fluid area here </td> </tr> </table> <table width="100%"> <tr> <td valign="top" > fluid area here </td> <td > fluid area here </td> <td > fluid area here </td> </tr> </table> <table width="100%"> <tr> <td > fluid area here </td> <td > fluid area here </td> <td > fluid area here </td> </tr> </table>

    - by Liam
    I have two quicktime movie files embedded in one web page. I have set autoplay="false" to prevent them both from playing at the same time, but they still load at the same time. Can I prevent them from loading until the user clicks the play button? autohref="false" is supposed to do this but it does not seem to work. Apple's documentation for the EMBED element

  • Keeping footer visible and height 100% in CSS

    - by vtortola
    I'm trying to create a very simple page that contains a container, a header, a left column and a footer: <containter> <header /> <content /> <leftBar /> <footer /> </containter> I want to use the 100% of the height, as I can do with the width, but I simply dont get it work.At his moment I'm usingmin-height, but how could I use theheight:100%` ? What I like is that the footer is always visible, and you scroll the content. Current CSS body { font-family: Verdana; font-size: 0.8em; background-color:#f1f1f1; } #container { border:solid 2px Black; position:absolute; left:10%; width:80%; margin:auto; } #header { height:20px; background: #DDDDDD; } #leftBar { width: 20%; background: #669966; min-height:600px; postion:absolute; top:20px; bottom:20px; } #content { float:right; background-color: #cdcde6; position:absolute; left:20%; right:0px; bottom:20px; top:20px; padding:5px; } #footer { position:absolute; height:20px; }

  • Passing a string in Html.ActionLink in MVC 2

    - by 109221793
    I have completed the MVC Music Store application, and now am making my own modifications for practice, and also to prepare me to do similar tasks in my job. What I have done, is create a view that displays the current list of users. I have done this as I want to be able to change the passwords of users should they forget them. Here is a snippet from my view: <% foreach (MembershipUser user in Model) { %> <tr> <td><%: Html.ActionLink(user.UserName, "changeUserPassword", "StoreManager", new { username = user.UserName }) %></td> <td><%: user.LastActivityDate %></td> <td><%: user.IsLockedOut %></td> </tr> <% }%> What I want to know, is it possible to pass the username through the actionlink as I have done above. I have registered the following route in the global.asax.cs file, however I am unsure if I have done it correctly: routes.MapRoute( "AdminPassword", //Route name "{controller}/{action}/{username}", //URL with parameters new { controller = "StoreManager", action = "changeUserPassword", username = UrlParameter.Optional }); Here is my GET action: public ActionResult changeUserPassword(string username) { ViewData["username"] = username; return View(); } I have debugged through the code to find that ViewData["username"] = username doesn't populate so it looks like either I have not registered the routes properly, or I simply cannot pass the username using the actionlink like I have. I'd be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.

  • CSS Position Absolute constant top margin

    - by Brian
    This question sounds simple but I'm an expert with CSS and I'm thinking it's impossible (a RARE thing). Is it possible to use CSS to give a a page a constant top margin if that div has no background (e.g. you can see through it)? Basically, I want the background image to be visible in the top 100px of a site, so that even when scrolling down, that top-margin remains in place. You can look at some live code here: http://cl.ly/40oY Here's a little infographic of what I'm attempting to do: http://cl.ly/40xt Thanks!

  • How to get image to pulse with opacity with JQuery

    - by Alex
    I am trying to get an image to change opacity smoothly over a duration of time. Here's the code I have for it. <script type="text/javascript"> pulsem(elementid){ var element = document.getElementById(elementid) jquery(element).pulse({opacity: [0,1]}, { duration: 100, // duration of EACH individual animation times: 3, // Will go three times through the pulse array [0,1] easing: 'linear', // easing function for each individual animation complete: function() { alert("I'm done pulsing!"); } }) </script> <a href="city.htm"><img src="waterloo.png" onmouseover="javascript:pulsem("waterloo")" border="0" class="env" id="waterloo"/></a> Also, is there a way for this to happen automatically without the need of a mouseover? Thanks.

  • How to select text, but not images, in CSS

    - by thinkswan
    Simple question: I have the following markup... <a href='#'> <img src='icon.png'> This is the link </a> I want to have the text become underlined on mouseover. What is the CSS selector for selecting only the text in that <a> element and nothing else? I'd rather not wrap it in anything if I don't have to. a:hover { text-decoration: none; } a:hover <select_text_here> { text-decoration: underline; }

  • CSS Rollover button bug

    - by Nick
    Hi Everyone, I'm trying to create a drop down button and its almost working except one little bug. I have several big buttons that change background color when the user hovers over them and one of them, the language button, displays several suboptions inside itself when the user hovers over it. That all works fine except the language button doesn't change its background color when the user hovers over it. It does change its color if the cursor is just inside the button but not if it touches the 3 sub options. What i need is a technique or a rule that states that the button will change background color if user hovers over it or if the user hovers over one of its children elements. How do I achieve this? Here's the markup: <ul> <li><a href="/home/" title="Go to the Home page" class="current"><span>Home</span></a></li> <li><a href="/about-us/" title="Go to the About Us page" class="link"><span>About us</span></a></li> <li><a href="/products/" title="Go to the Products page" class="link"><span>Products</span></a></li> <li><a href="/services/" title="Go to the Services page" class="link"><span>Services</span></a></li> <li><a href="/news/" title="Go to the News page" class="link"><span>News</span></a></li> <li><a href="/dealers/" title="Go to the Dealers page" class="link"><span>Dealers</span></a></li> <li id="Rollover"><a href="" title="select language" class="link"><span>Language</span></a> <ul> <li><a href="/english/">English</a></li> <li><a href="/french/">French</a></li> <li><a href="/spanish/">Spanish</a></li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="/contact-us/" title="Go to the contacts page" class="link"><span>Contact us</span></a></li> </ul> Thanks in advance!

  • Is it really necessary to have a competely validated Mark Up and css for SEO purposes

    - by Hitesh Manchanda
    Hi , While validating my CSS on http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/ I am getting following errors: 1.Property zoom doesn't exist : 1 1. 2.Property -webkit-transition doesn't exist : all 200ms ease-in all 200ms ease-in 3.Property opacity doesn't exist in CSS level 2.1 4.Property -moz-border-radius doesn't exist 5.Property -webkit-border-radius doesn't exist Is it really required to validate the MarkUp and CSS completely for SEO or these errors which mostly are browser specific can be ignored for now. If these errors have to removed can someone please suggest the way to do so also.

  • Ignoring hover style in inside image

    - by user289249
    I want the style to apply on the "a" elements, and not the img. Here's an example: a:hover {background: #555;} I tried to do something like this: a:hover img {background: none;} though I knew it's not going to do anything. The solution I found in this question didn't work for me, because the "display: none" is moving the image when hovering.

  • Transparent PNG menu item backgrounds in IE6 with rollovers

    - by evh
    Hi I have been trying to do this for what feels like all my life I have a list menu with block display links, each link has a sliding doors png background image. I have used this javascript (http://www.ideashower.com/our_solutions/png-hover/) to implement the alphaimageloader fix for ie6 using a transparent gif. When I test it for the first time it works but if I click to a different page and then click back it doesn't work anymore - the menu completely disappears, I can get it to work again by duplicating the transparent gif and changing it's name, but again if I go to another page and then come back to it, it stops working and the menu dissappears. Is this a server caching issue or something like that. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated! Thanks

  • How to edit a link within a contentEditable div

    - by Travis
    Does anyone have any suggestions on how to edit an link in a contentEditable div? It would be ideal once the link is either clicked with mouse, or the cursor hits the link, that the a small prompt would pop up and allow the user to change the href property of the link. The prompt isn't the issue, but how is it possible to detect the link has been either clicked or that the cursor has arrived at the link? onfocus doesn't seem to work in a contentEditable div on Firefox & Safari. Any ideas?
