  • MySQL Locking table from Stored FUNCTION

    I have a function in a MySQL Database that determines some sync parameters for a mobile device. The function determines the last date/time the user synchronized with the database. During my sync operation I call this server side function twice. As soon as I call it the second time - the entire Sync_Records table is locked. I cannot write to it from any other connection anywhere (note, after first call, the table is not locked). I changed the function to a Procedure - and all is fine - no locking after the second call. The entire sync operation (including both calls to the function/procedure) is within a transaction. This is an InnoDb table. The function/procedure simply does two select statements. They are storing results in local variables and then returning the date time variable. I don't understand why the tables are locked. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hello all, I'm looking to purchase a jquery book. I'm a strong C# developer whose had experience with dojo. Now, I'm building my own site and am looking to learn a new platform in the process. So, I've chosen jquery. With dojo, I know how to make my own widgets. I want to learn about ways to plug into jquery to make reusable controls. Also, I plan to make heavy use of json with ajax. Other things to consider: I would call my javascript expertise as intermediate. I'd like to find a book that is as up to date with the jquery platform as possible as I know that in a few months it will likely be out of date. What book or books would you reccomend?

    I need a script that can run and pull information from any drive on a Windows operating system (Windows Server 2003), listing all files and folders which contain the following fields: The server is quite big and is within our domain. The required information is: Full file path (e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\testPage.doc) File type (e.g. word document, spreadsheet, database etc) Size When Created When last modified When last accessed Also the script will need to convert that data to a CSV file, which later on I can modify and process in Excel. I can imagine that this data will be huge but I still need it. I am logged in as an administrator on the server and the script will need to also process protected files. As in previous posts I have read that the script will stop if such files are processed. I need to make sure that not a single file is skipped. Please note I have asked this question before but still have not got a working script.   • Struts2 Hibernate Login with User table and group table

    My problem is, i have a table User and Table Group (this table use to authorization for user - it mean when user belong to a group like admin, they can login into admincp and other user belong to group member, they just only read and write and can not login into admincp) each user maybe belong to many groups and each group has been contain many users and they have relationship are many to many I use hibernate for persistence storage. and struts 2 to handle business logic. When i want to implement login action from Struts2 how can i get value of group member belong to ? to compare with value i want to know?     I have a database full of simple note data, with columns for title, due date, priority, and details. There is also a _id column PRIMARY KEY int. Say I have a note in the table already with some data filled and the rest null. I also have a set of data that will fill all those fields. Is there a way that I can only write data to the fields that are NULL? I can't overwrite existing data, but I'd like to add data to NULL columns. I know the rowId of the target row. If my target row had rowId of 5, I could do something like this: UPDATE SET duedate='some date', priority='2', details='some text' WHERE _id=5 But that would overwrite all the data in that row, and I don't want to lose any data that might be there. How can I change this statement to avoid writing to non-null fields?

  • facebook meta tag description not updating

    3 days ago I updated description within the meta tag of facebook, but change does not reflect when sharing link on facebook. Instead old description still appears. According to Facebook, it scrapes your page every 24 hours to ensure the description (and other share data) are up to date. However, one can manually refresh it by entering the post URL into the Facebook URL Linter I did manually refresh it as well as now waited for 3 days. When i see debugging output from linter, it shows the correct up-to-date description, but old description still shown when sharing a link. How to reproduce: This is our website: https://www.tradeinsports.se/#tis1 (It's in swedish so bear with me please). If you go to above link and click on any of the two available products, and then share on facebook, you can see the difference in description from the one which appears in linter debugging output. Any help would be appreciated.

So I googled it looking for some example code In just about all the results I see, they use double as the return for such a function, even when explicitly using floor to convert it to an integer. Unix timestamps are always integers. The code only seems to process the first file in the directory then it gives me this: opening file: dd00000112_28_2010142011-1.html employee ID: 9871 employee Date: 12/31/2010 Warning: readdir(): 3 is not a valid Directory resource in /var/www/html/pay.mistequaygroup.com/payroll.php on line 29 The '3' in the error really confuses me, and google is not helping much. Could it be the 3rd iteration of the loop? The only files in the directory reddir() is scanning are the .html files waiting to be processed. Any ideas? Also, how does my code look? I'm fairly new to doing any real programming and I don't get too much input around work.

    I have a transaction log file in CSV format that I want use to run statistics. The log has the following fields: date: Time/date stamp salesperson: The username of the person who closed the sale promo: sum total of items in the sale that were promotions. amount: grand total of the sale I'd like to get the following statistics: salesperson: The username of the salesperson being analyzed. minAmount: The smallest grand total of this salesperson's transaction. avgAmount: The mean grand total.. maxAmount: The largest grand total.. minPromo: The smallest promo amount by the salesperson. avgPromo: The mean promo amount... I'm tempted to build a database structure, import this file, write SQL, and pull out the stats. I don't need anything more from this data than these stats. Is there an easier way? I'm hoping some bash script could make this easy.

  • How SQLite on Android handles long stings?

    Hi! I'm wondering how Android's implementation of SQLite handles long Strings. Reading from online documentation on sqlite, it said that strings in sqlite are limited to 1 million characters. My strings are definitely smaller. I'm creating a simple RSS application, and after parsing a html document, and extracting text, I'm having problem saving it to a database. I have 2 tables in database, feeds and articles. RSS feeds are correctly saved and retrieved from feeds table, but when saving to the articles table, logcat is saying that it cannot save extracted text to it's column. I don't know if other columns are making problems too, no mention of them in logcat. I'm wondering, since text is from an article on web, are signs like (",',;) creating problems? Is Android automaticaly escaping them, or I have to do that.   • How can I have multiple navigation paths with Django, like a simplifies wizard path and a full path?

    Lets say I have an application with a structure such as: System set date set name set something Other set death ray target calibrate and I want to have "back" and "next" buttons on a page. The catch is, if you're going in via the "wizard", I want the nav path to be something like "set name" - "set death ray target" - "set name". If you go via the Advanced options menu, I want to just iterate options... "set date" - "set name" - "set something" - "set death ray target" - calibrate. So far, I'm thinking I have to use different URIs, but that's that. Any ideia how this could be done? Thanks.
