Call an external web service from a servlet

Hi, I'm developing a servlet that gets a name of a web service and could be forward the request to an external web service, for example: "http://www.webservice.com/..." I have build a response wrapper that intercept response output but I can't forward request to an external web service, it works only if I redirect the request to a servlet that is on same server. Example: request.getRequestDispatcher("aMyServlet").forward(request, response) IT WORKS request.getRequestDispatcher("http://www.webservice.com/...").forward(request, response) IT DON'T WORKS because Tomcat search "http://www.webservice.com/..." on the server as a local resource. [perl] Efficient processing of large text

I have text file that contains over one million urls. I have to process this file in order to assign urls to groups, based on host address: { 'http://www.ex1.com' = ['http://www.ex1.com/...', 'http://www.ex1.com/...', ...], 'http://www.ex2.com' = ['http://www.ex2.com/...', 'http://www.ex2.com/...', ...] } My current basic solution takes about 600mb of RAM to do this (size of file is about 300mb). Could You provide some more efficient ways? My current solution simply reads line by line, extracts host address by regex and put url into hash.

HTML, CSS: how can I merge these divs in order to use float:left property on their children ?

hi, I've 2 sets of thumbnails and in each set I'm displaying them one nearby each other in 4 columns using float:left. I would like to "merge" the 2 sets (but I cannot change the html code) because I want the thumbnails of the second set floating right after the last thumbnail of the first set. In other terms, if in the last row there are only 2 thumbnails and the last 2 columns are empty, the thumbnails of the second set should fill the empty columns of the last row of the first set. video player for HTML 5 page not loading

I'm using VideoJS to as my video player for a project I've been working on. Basically I have a div, and I wanted to have the video player within that div, however when I load the page nothing happens, and the video is never played. In fact, the video is never loaded nor shown in the page. I basically copied the example from VideoJS' page. Hiding Url for asp.net page

I don't want users to see the weird URL they are redirected to and I was using FRAMES but I can't figure out how to add my HTML page dynamically because I need the variables and either add frames or try another way to accomplish this. NSPredicate aggregate function [SIZE] gives 'unsupported function expression' error

iOS 4: I have entities in Core Data (using SQLite, which is a requirement) of: Request Response (which has a property personId) Revision Relationships are: Request <-- Revision Request <-- Response Revision <-- Response (e.g. each request may have many responses; each request/response pair may have many revisions) I'm trying to do a predicate to get all Responses with a given personId that have zero Revisions. Using: (personId == %d) && (Request.Revision[SIZE] == 0) in my predicate string gives me a runtime exception "Unsupported function expression Request.Revision[SIZE]" The documentation seems pretty sparse on aggregate functions, only noting that they exist, but with no syntax or examples. Not sure if it's my syntax or if the SIZE function really isn't supported in iOS.

I've done research on Backbone.js, but I'm still confused as to exactly how this code pull information from the app's database. Comma separated values in a database field

I have a products table. Each row in that table corresponds to a single product and it's identified by a unique Id. Now each product can have multiple "codes" associated with that product. For example: Id | Code ---------------------- 0001 | IN,ON,ME,OH 0002 | ON,VI,AC,ZO 0003 | QA,PS,OO,ME What I'm trying to do is create a stored procedure so that I can pass in a codes like "ON,ME" and have it return every product that contains the "ON" or "ME" code. Since the codes are comma separated, I don't know how I can split those and search them. Is this possible using only TSQL? Edit: It's a mission critical table. I don't have the authority to change it.

My forms are losing session variables on shared hosting very quickly (webhost4life), and I think I want to replace them with cookies. Is this necessary? Do the Request cookies copy to the Response automatically? I'm setting no properties on the cookies and create them this way: Response.Cookies["currentForm"]["selectedProjectID"] = someGuid.ToString(); The intention is that these are temporary header cookies, not persisted on the client any longer than the browser session. I ask this since I don't often write websites.

iam using asp.net and asp.net-ajax every thing happens on browser urls are of format http://somepage#page1 http://somepage#page2 http://somepage#page3 now all these urls are in a secured folder when logged in user directly types (or use bookmark) a url like below, he is shown that page http://somepage#page2 -- (bookmarked url lying in secured folder) now when a user user who is not logged in directly type above url he gets redirected to login page but on login page in redirection url iam unable to read characters after pound (#) sign. iam just getting redirection url= "http://somepage" while i want it to be "http://somepage#page2" is there is any way i can do this

How to know when an upload is done?

I'm using Guzzle 4 (latest version) to upload file to a remote server, since it uses stream to upload the $response-getStatusCode() will be 100 which means "Continue" and the responseBody is not available at this point. Is there a way to catch the remote server response when the upload is done? Edit 1: I was able to call back to a function when the upload is done using this: https://github.com/guzzle/progress-subscriber However, I haven't found out how to get the response yet

How do I parse data received in a memorystream?

I'm new to using sockets. I have a very basic client that sends a request, and waits for a response. The response is one stream, but has two parts. The first part is prefixed with ANS and is a set of key/value pairs in this form: KEY:Value with each pair on a separate line. The second part of the response is prefixed by RCT and this is pre-formatted text that needs to be send directly to a printer. So what would be the best way to extract both parts of the response, and in the first part, get each Key:Value pair. I might not even need them all, but I have to look at each one to see what the values are then decide what to do with it. I'm currently writing the response out to a textbox just to understand what its doing, but now I need to actually do something with the data. Let's say I have a page, http://mydomain.com/mypage.html, with a "Back to page" link. This link should take the user back to the page where they came from only if the previous page URL matches one of the following: http://mydomain.com/one.html, http://mydomain.com/two.html, and http://mydomain.com/three.html. Otherwise, it would take the user back to the homepage, http://mydomain.com. I would like the "Back to page" link to also take the user back to the homepage when http://mydomain.com/mypage.html is pasted onto the browser. How can i accomplish this with Javascript. Thanks!

Hi all I have a .swf flash gallery that loads pics from a XML file the probelm is when I modify the XML the modifications do not reflect on the flash till I delete the browsing cache from the browser I tried to disable caching using code like this Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache); Response.AddHeader("Pragma","no-cache"); Response.Expires = -1; but not working is there any workaround for this ? thanks

jsjac openfire chat issue

I am trying to use openFire + jsjac for my application as chat option. I have installed openfire in my local machine and it is running fine on http://127.0.0.1:4040/ and i have downloaded jsjac version 1-3-4. 1) when I run sampleClient.html file directly [URL: C:\tomcat\webapps\jsjac\examples\simpleclient.html] I am able to connect sampleClient with openFire. Select Http Binding http Base : http://127.0.0.1:7070/http-bind/ jabber server : 127.0.0.1 username : admin password : ** 2) But when I put jsjac folder in tomcat/webapps/ directory, I access sampleClient through http://127.0.0.1:8080/jsjac/examples/sampleClient.html, at that time using above setting (which i have used in step 1) it is giving error "Service unavailable". In step 1 when though I am connected with openFire, when I send a message it displays only "message received from admin@localhost", but it does not display the actual message.. I need your advice on these problems... Thanks.
