  • How to find the first declaring method for a reference method

    - by Oliver Gierke
Suppose you have a generic interface and an implementation: public interface MyInterface<T> { void foo(T param); } public class MyImplementation<T> implements MyInterface<T> { void foo(T param) { } } These two types are frework types. In the next step I want allow users to extend that interface as well as redeclare foo(T param) to maybe equip it with further annotations. public interface MyExtendedInterface extends MyInterface<Bar> { @Override void foo(Bar param); // Further declared methods } I create an AOP proxy for the extended interface and intercept especially the calls to furtherly declared methods. As foo(…) is no redeclared in MyExtendedInterface I cannot execute it by simply invoking MethodInvocation.proceed() as the instance of MyImplementation only implements MyInterface.foo(…) and not MyExtendedInterface.foo(…). So is there a way to get access to the method that declared a method initially? Regarding this example is there a way to find out that foo(Bar param) was declared in MyInterface originally and get access to the accoriding Method instance? I already tried to scan base class methods to match by name and parameter types but that doesn't work out as generics pop in and MyImplementation.getMethod("foo", Bar.class) obviously throws a NoSuchMethodException. I already know that MyExtendedInterface types MyInterface to Bar. So If I could create some kind of "typed view" on MyImplementation my math algorithm could work out actually.

  • C#: How to run NUnit from my code

    - by Flavio
Hello, I'd like to use NUnit to run unit tests in my plug-in, but it needs to be run in the context of my application. To solve this, I was trying to develop a plug-in that runs NUnit, which in turn will execute my tests in the application's context. I didn't find a specific documentation on this subject so I dug a piece of information here and there and I came out with the following piece of code (which is similar to one I found here in StackOverflow): SimpleTestRunner runner = new SimpleTestRunner(); TestPackage package = new TestPackage( "Test" ); string loc = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().Location package.Assemblies.Add( loc ); if( runner.Load(package) ) { TestResult result = runner.Run( new NullListener() ); } The result variable says "has no TestFixture" although I know for sure it is there. In fact my test file contains two test. Using another approach I found, which is summarized by the following code: TestSuiteBuilder builder = new TestSuiteBuilder(); TestSuite testSuite = builder.Build( package ); // Run tests TestResult result = testSuite.Run( new NullListener(), NUnit.Core.TestFilter.Empty ); I saw nunit data structures with only 1 test and I had the same error. For sake of completeness, I am using the latest version of nunit, which is 2.5.5.10112. Does anyone know what I'm missing? A sample code would be appreciated. thanks

  • ASP.NET - I am generating an .XLS file with a DLL, how do I grant permissions for writing to file? (

I'm generating an .XLS file with a DLL (Excel Library http://code.google.com/p/excellibrary/) I've added this DLL as a reference to my project. The code to save the .XLS to disk is running, but it's encountering a permissions issue. I've attempted to set full access for IUSRS, Network Service, and Everyone just to see if I could get it working, and none of these seems to make a difference. • First run notepad with my.cfg and only then start the service

    - by Viv Coco
Hi all, I install along with my application: 1) a service that starts and stops my application as needed 2) a conf file that contains actually the user data and that will be shown to the user to modify as needed (I give the user the chance to change it by running notepad.exe with my conf file during installing) The problem is that in my code the service I install starts before the user had the chance to modify the conf file. What I would like is: 1) first the user gets the chance to change the conf file (run notepad.exe with the conf file) 2) only afterward start the service <Component Id="MyService.exe" Guid="GUID"> <File Id="MyService.exe" Source="MyService.exe" Name="MyService.exe" KeyPath="yes" Checksum="yes" /> <ServiceInstall Id='ServiceInstall' DisplayName='MyService' Name='MyService' ErrorControl='normal' Start='auto' Type='ownProcess' Vital='yes'/> <ServiceControl Id='ServiceControl' Name='MyService' Start='install' Stop='both' Remove='uninstall'/> </Component> <Component Id="my.conf" Guid="" NeverOverwrite="yes"> <File Id="my.cfg" Source="my.cfg_template" Name="my.cfg" KeyPath="yes" /> </Component> [...] <Property Id="NOTEPAD">Notepad.exe</Property> <CustomAction Id="LaunchConfFile" Property="NOTEPAD" ExeCommand="[INSTALLDIR]my.cfg" Return="ignore" Impersonate="no" Execute="deferred"/> <!--Run only on installs--> <InstallExecuteSequence> <Custom Action='LaunchConfFile' Before='InstallFinalize'>(NOT Installed) AND (NOT UPGRADINGPRODUCTCODE)</Custom> </InstallExecuteSequence> What am I doing wrong in the above code and how could I change it in order to achieve what I need? (first run notepad with my conf file and then start the service). TIA, Viv

  • IHttpModule not being applied to virtual directory

    - by arthurdent510
I have a network folder that is mapped to my iis app as a virtual directory and I'm trying to do some authentication for files that are located there with an ihttpmodule. I've verified that the ihttpmodule is firing properly for anything else in my app, just not the files located in virtual directory. Most of what I've found is that the directory can't be listed as an application (which it isn't), and everything should work. The other solution that I found was to add the the module tag to the tag, but that didn't seem to help either. Everything that I've found talks about stopping this from happening. So my question is what could be set that is causing this to not work? Is there a certain execute permission that needs to be set? Any other iis settings that could cause this? It is an mvc app, and this is how my directory structure is laid out: server/app <- my application folder server/app/content/downloads <- downloads is the virtual directory Do I have to add the virtual directory directly under my app directory? Is that part of the problem? I don't have direct control of the server my code is running on, so testing things out is a bit of a pain... so I was looking for some more thoughts before starting to send emails off to my operations people. Thanks!

Now the way i have defined the functions are as follows:- /** * Database definations */ define ('db_type', 'MYSQL'); define ('db_host', 'localhost'); define ('db_port', '3306'); define ('db_name', 'database'); define ('db_user', 'root'); define ('db_pass', 'password'); define ('db_table_prefix', ''); /** * Database Connect */ function db_connect($host = db_host, $port = db_port, $username = db_user, $password = db_pass, $database = db_name) { if(!$db = @mysql_connect($host.':'.$port, $username, $password)) { return FALSE; } if((strlen($database) > 0) AND (!@mysql_select_db($database, $db))) { return FALSE; } // set the correct charset encoding mysql_query('SET NAMES \'utf8\''); mysql_query('SET CHARACTER_SET \'utf8\''); return $db; } /** * Database Close */ function db_close($identifier) { return mysql_close($identifier); } /** * Database Query */ function db_query($query, $identifier) { return mysql_query($query, $identifier); } Now i want to know whether it is a good way to do this or not..... Also, while database connect i am using $host = db_host Is it ok? Secondly how i can use these functions, these all code is in my FUNCTIONS.php The Database Definitions and also the Database Connect... will it do the needful for me... Using these functions how will i be able to connect to database and using the query function... how will i able to execute a query? VERY IMPORTANT: How can i make mysql to mysqli, is it can be done by just adding an 'i' to mysql....Like:- @mysql_connect @mysqli_connect

  • javascript pausing consistently. How do I find what is causing it to pause?

    - by pedalpete
I've got a fairly ajax heavy site and I'm trying to tune the performance. I have a function that runs between 20 & 200 times, depending on the user. I'm outputting the time the function takes to execute via console.time in firefox. The function takes about 4-6ms to complete. The strange thing is that on my larger test with 200 or runs through that function, it runs through the first 31, then seems to pause for almost a second before completing the last 170 or so. However, that 'pause' doesn't show up in the console.time logs, and I'm not running any other functions, and the object that gets passed to the function looks the same as all other objects that get passed in. The function is called like this for (var s in thisGroup.events){ showEvent(thisGroup.events[s]) } so, I don't see how or why it would suddenly pause near the beginning. but only pause once and then continue through. The pause ALWAYS happens on the 31st time through the function. I've taken a close look at the 'thisGroup.events[s]' that it is being run through, and it looks like this for #31 "eventId":"5106", "sid":"68", "gid":"29", "uid":"70","type":"event", "startDate":"2010-03-22","startTime":"6:00 PM","endDate":"2010-03-22","endTime":"11:00 PM","durationLength":"5", "durationTime":"5:00", "note":"", "desc":"event" The event immediately after the pause, #32 looks like this "eventId":"5111", "sid":"68", "gid":"29", "uid":"71","type":"event", "startDate":"2010-03-22","startTime":"6:00 PM","endDate":"2010-03-22","endTime":"11:00 PM","durationLength":"5", "durationTime":"5:00", "note":"", "desc":"event" another event that runs through no problem looks like this "eventId":"5113", "sid":"68", "gid":"29", "uid":"72","type":"event", "startDate":"2010-03-22","startTime":"4:30 PM","endDate":"2010-03-22","endTime":"11:00 PM","durationLength":"6.5", "durationTime":"6:30", "note":"", "desc":"event" From the console outputs, it doesn't appear as there is anything hanging or taking up time in the function itself, as the console.time for each event including #31,32 is 4ms. Another strange thing here is that the total time running the for loop across the entire object is coming out as 1014ms which is right for 200 events at 4-6ms each. Any suggestions on how to find this 'pause'? I find it very interesting that it is consistently happening between #31 & #32 only!

  • Mysql InnoDB performance optimization and indexing

    - by Davide C
Hello everybody, I have 2 databases and I need to link information between two big tables (more than 3M entries each, continuously growing). The 1st database has a table 'pages' that stores various information about web pages, and includes the URL of each one. The column 'URL' is a varchar(512) and has no index. The 2nd database has a table 'urlHops' defined as: CREATE TABLE urlHops ( dest varchar(512) NOT NULL, src varchar(512) DEFAULT NULL, timestamp timestamp NOT NULL DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, KEY dest_key (dest), KEY src_key (src) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 Now, I need basically to issue (efficiently) queries like this: select p.id,p.URL from db1.pages p, db2.urlHops u where u.src=p.URL and u.dest=? At first, I thought to add an index on pages(URL). But it's a very long column, and I already issue a lot of INSERTs and UPDATEs on the same table (way more than the number of SELECTs I would do using this index). Other possible solutions I thought are: -adding a column to pages, storing the md5 hash of the URL and indexing it; this way I could do queries using the md5 of the URL, with the advantage of an index on a smaller column. -adding another table that contains only page id and page URL, indexing both columns. But this is maybe a waste of space, having only the advantage of not slowing down the inserts and updates I execute on 'pages'. I don't want to slow down the inserts and updates, but at the same time I would be able to do the queries on the URL efficiently. Any advice? My primary concern is performance; if needed, wasting some disk space is not a problem. Thank you, regards Davide

  • How to build a web crawler to find a specific advert, which is in an iframe loaded by Javascript

    - by ZoFreX
I'm trying to find all instances of an advert on a website. The advert is in an iframe which is loaded by javascript (it doesn't appear at all if javascript is turned off). Detecting the advert itself is extremely simple, both the name of the flash file and the target of the href always contain a certain string. What would be the best "starting point" for achieving this? At the moment I'm considering an Adobe AIR app, which could crawl the site and examine the DOM to find the ad, and would run javascript and load the content of the iframe. The other option I can think of is using Firefox as the platform (using maybe GreaseMonkey or Selenium? I don't really know how to leverage Firefox like this). Does anyone know of anything suitable to build this, or have any suggestions on using Firefox to do it? Extra details: Being CPU intensive isn't really an issue, nor is anything depending on a browser being open. This doesn't need to run on a headless server, it will be running on a powerful desktop box. OS is also not an issue. It would be advantageous if the crawler loaded each page multiple times, as the advert is in rotation. While the crawler does need to execute the javascript and load the content of the iframe, it does not need to be able to display flash files.

  • InfoPath FormControl on STA worker thread

    - by Rob Ford
I have a .NET class that exposes two public methods: one to create an InfoPath form and another to Export to one of the supported formats. I’m using the Microsoft FormControl to do this. It’s hosted by a Form that does not get displayed. I get called by a Winforms app, but on an MTA worker thread instead of the UI thread. So I create an STA thread and execute on that, which works exactly once and then results in this exception: System.InvalidOperationException was unhandled Message="Unable to get the window handle for the 'FormControl' control. Windowless ActiveX controls are not supported." Source="System.Windows.Forms" StackTrace: at System.Windows.Forms.AxHost.EnsureWindowPresent() at System.Windows.Forms.AxHost.InPlaceActivate() at System.Windows.Forms.AxHost.TransitionUpTo(Int32 state) at System.Windows.Forms.AxHost.CreateHandle() at System.Windows.Forms.Control.CreateControl(Boolean fIgnoreVisible) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.CreateControl(Boolean fIgnoreVisible) at System.Windows.Forms.AxHost.EndInit() at InfoPathCreateStaThreadTest.FormControlHost.InitializeComponent() in C:\Windows\Temp\InfoPathCreateStaThreadTest\InfoPathCreateStaThreadTest\FormControlHost.Designer.cs:line 65 After some experimenting, I started to suspect this is a message pumping problem. I then came across this, which makes me more strongly suspect so: http://blogs.msdn.com/cbrumme/archive/2004/02/02/66219.aspx I tried various methods of pumping messages with no luck. I should mention that the alternative of automating the InfoPath app is not viable unless I can figure out how to hide the app. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • MS Access 2003 - Save button enabling on form open on different tabs

    - by Justin
I have a tab control on a form, and a couple different tabs have save buttons on them. Once the user saves data (via SQL statements in VBA), I set the .enabled = false so that they cannot use this button again until moving to a brand new record (which is a button click on the overall form). so when my form open i was going to reference a sub that enabled all these save buttons because the open event would mean new record. though i get an error that says it either does not exist, or is closed. any ideas? thanks EDIT: Sub Example() error handling Dim db as dao.database dim rs as dao.recordset dim sql as string SQL = "INSERT INTO tblMain (Name, Address, CITY) VALUES (" if not isnull (me.name) then sql = sql & """" & me.name & """," else sql = sql & " NULL," end if if not insull(me.adress) then sql = sql & " """ & me.address & """," else sql = sql & " NULL," end if if not isnull(me.city) then sql = sql & " """ & me.city & """," else sql = sql & " NULL," end if 'debug.print(sql) set db = currentdb db.execute (sql) MsgBox "Changes were successfully saved" me.MyTabCtl.Pages.Item("SecondPage").setfocus me.cmdSaveInfo.enabled = false and then on then the cmdSave needs to get re enabled on a new record (which by the way, this form is unbound), so it all happens when the form is re-opened. I tried this: Sub Form_Open() me.cmdSaveInfo.enabled = true End Sub and this is where I get the error stated above. So this is also not the tab that has focus when the form opens. Is that why I get this error? I cannot enable or disable a control when the tab is not showing?

  • Use Hudson Build Parameter in Grails Build Target

    - by Stephen Swensen
I have created two Hudson String Parameters in my parametrized build configuration: svnRoot, and svnBranch. I can reference these just fine when specifying my Repository URL: ${svnRoot}/${svnBranch}/subProject. But I have not been able to reference them as part of my Grails Build Target: "build-applet ${svnRoot}/${svnBranch}/appletProject username password" "war --non-interactive". build-applet invokes a Gant script in the Grails project at scripts\BuildApplet.groovy. • How do I start up an NSRunLoop, and ensure that it has an NSAutoreleasePool that gets emptied?

    - by Nick Forge
I have a "sync" task that relies on several "sub-tasks", which include asynchronous network operations, but which all require access to a single NSManagedObjectContext. Due to the threading requirements of NSManagedObjectContexts, I need every one of these sub-tasks to execute on the same thread. Due to the amount of processing being done in some of these tasks, I need them to be on a background thread. At the moment, I'm launching a new thread by doing this in my singleton SyncEngine object's -init method: [self performSelectorInBackground:@selector(initializeSyncThread) withObject:nil]; The -initializeSyncThread method looks like this: - (void)initializeSyncThread { self.syncThread = [NSThread currentThread]; self.managedObjectContext = [(MyAppDelegate *)[UIApplication sharedApplication].delegate createManagedObjectContext]; NSRunLoop *runLoop = [NSRunLoop currentRunLoop]; [runLoop run]; } Is this the correct way to start up the NSRunLoop for this thread? Is there a better way to do it? The run loop only needs to handle 'performSelector' sources, and it (and its thread) should be around for the lifetime of the process. When it comes to setting up an NSAutoreleasePool, should I do this by using Run Loop Observers to create the autorelease pool and drain it after every run-through?

  • How to install Eclipse + PHP Development Tools (PDT) + Debugger on Mac in The Year 2010

    - by aphex5
I had a lot of trouble installing Eclipse and PDT on my system. It took two days, largely because all the tutorials I could find were out of date (written in 2008, it's 2010 now) and various steps they included were no longer necessary, broken, or irrelevant. I wanted to write my process here so it could be improved upon (via wiki) as time goes on. Install Eclipse without PHP plugin ("Eclipse Classic"). This will give you a complete Eclipse, which I find preferable, as the UI is more fleshed out (e.g. you get a default list of Perspectives, which helps you understand what Perspectives are.) Install PDT SDK with the Help Install New Software menu item. You'd think you'd be done here, but if you try to run something, it'll fail complaining of not having a debugger. Install the Zend Debugger. It'll fail if you try to use the Install New Software option, as many tutorials suggest ("No repository found containing osgi.bundle.org.zend.php.debug.debugger.5.3.7.v20091116".) Instead, download it from http://www.zend.com/en/community/pdt, and manually copy the features/ and plugins/ directory into your Eclipse install (these instructions are not written anywhere). Restart Eclipse Monkey with preferences for a while -- if you followed a previous tutorial and tried to manually add your php executable to Eclipse prefs (/usr/bin/php), remove it (PHP PHP Executables). Set one of the Zend Debugger executables to the default. If you've already tried to execute a .php file, remove the existing "Run" profile you (maybe weren't aware that you) created (Run Debug Configurations...). Eclipse works! You should be able to run a .php file as a script just fine.

I went in and checked my Transaction log the other day and it was something crazy like 15GB. I ran the following code: USE mydb GO BACKUP LOG mydb WITH TRUNCATE_ONLY GO DBCC SHRINKFILE(mydb_log,8) GO Which worked fine, shrank it down to 8MB...but the DB in question is a Log Shipping Publisher, and the log is already back up to some 500MB and growing quick. Is there any way to automate this log shrinking, outside of creating a custom "Execute T-SQL Statement Task" Maintenance Plan Task, and hooking it on to my log backup task? If that's the best way then fine...but I was just thinking that SQL Server would have a better way of dealing with this. I thought it was supposed to shrink automatically whenever you took a log backup, but that's not happening (perhaps because of my log shipping, I don't know). Here's my current backup plan: Full backups every night Transaction log backups once a day, late morning (maybe hook the Log shrinking onto this...doesn't need to be shrank every day though) Or maybe I just run it once a week, after I run a full backup task? What do you all think?

  • upload picture to and send path to database

    - by opa.mido
    I am trying to upload picture and link it to my database and I used the codes below : Upload2.php <?php // Check if a file has been uploaded if(isset($_FILES['uploaded_file'])) { // Make sure the file was sent without errors if($_FILES['uploaded_file']['error'] == 0) { // Connect to the database $dbLink = new mysqli('localhost', 'root', '1234', 'fyp'); if(mysqli_connect_errno()) { die("MySQL connection failed: ". mysqli_connect_error()); } // Gather all required data $name = $dbLink->real_escape_string($_FILES['uploaded_file']['name']); $mime = $dbLink->real_escape_string($_FILES['uploaded_file']['type']); $data = $dbLink->real_escape_string(file_get_contents($_FILES ['uploaded_file']['tmp_name'])); $size = intval($_FILES['uploaded_file']['size']); // Create the SQL query $query = " INSERT INTO `pic` ( `Name`, `size`, `data`, `created` ) VALUES ( '{$name}', '{$mime}', {$size}, '{$data}', NOW() )"; // Execute the query $result = $dbLink->query($query); // Check if it was successfull if($result) { echo 'Success! Your file was successfully added!'; } else { echo 'Error! Failed to insert the file' . "<pre>{$dbLink->error}</pre>"; } } else { echo 'An error accured while the file was being uploaded. ' . 'Error code: '. intval($_FILES['uploaded_file']['error']); } // Close the mysql connection $dbLink->close(); } else { echo 'Error! A file was not sent!'; } // Echo a link back to the main page echo '<p>Click <a href="index.html">here</a> to go back</p>'; ?> I reached the last stage and its give error a file was not sent I don't know where I have missed. thank you

  • how can I solve a problem with andWhere with symfony/doctrine and odbc?

    - by JaSk
    While following the symfony tutorial (1.4.4) I'm getting an error with ODBC/mssql 2008. SQLSTATE[07002]: COUNT field incorrect: 0 [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0]COUNT field incorrect or syntax error (SQLExecute[0] at ext\pdo_odbc\odbc_stmt.c:254). Failing Query: "SELECT [j].[id] AS [j__id], [j].[category_id] AS [j__category_id], [j].[type] AS [j_type], [j].[company] AS [j_company], [j].[logo] AS [j_logo], [j].[url] AS [j_url], [j].[position] AS [j_position], [j].[location] AS [j_location], [j].[description] AS [j__description], [j].[how_to_apply] AS [j__how_to_apply], [j].[token] AS [j__token], [j].[is_public] AS [j__is_public], [j].[is_activated] AS [j__is_activated], [j].[email] AS [j__email], [j].[expires_at] AS [j__expires_at], [j].[created_at] AS [j__created_at], [j].[updated_at] AS [j__updated_at] FROM [jobeet_job] [j] WHERE ([j].[category_id] = '2' AND [j].[expires_at] ?) ORDER BY [j].[expires_at] DESC" I've narrowed the problem to a line that uses parameters public function getActiveJobs(Doctrine_Query $q = null) { if (is_null($q)) { $q = Doctrine_Query::create() -from('JobeetJob j'); } //$q->andWhere('j.expires_at > \''.date('Y-m-d H:i:s', time()).'\'');<-- this works $q->andWhere('j.expires_at > ?', date('Y-m-d H:i:s', time())); //<-- this line has problem $q->addOrderBy('j.expires_at DESC'); return $q->execute(); } can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

  • Location redirect - is tracking possible ?

    - by Gerald Ferreira
Hi there, I was wondering if someone can help me, I have the following script that redirect users to an affiliate link when they click on a banner. <?php $targets = array( 'site1' => 'http://www.site1.com/', 'site2' => 'http://www.site2.com/', 'site3' => 'http://www.site3.com/', 'site4' => 'http://www.site4.com/', ); if (isset($targets[$_GET['id']])) { header('Location: '.$targets[$_GET['id']]); exit; } ?> Is it possible to track when a user hits the banner telling me the referer site as well as the ip address of the person clicking on the banner. hmmmm something like pixel tracking? I have tried to add an iframe that does the tracking but it creates an error Hope it makes sense Thanks! This is more or less how I would have done it in asp <% var Command1 = Server.CreateObject ("ADODB.Command"); Command1.ActiveConnection = MM_cs_stats_STRING; Command1.CommandText = "INSERT INTO stats.g_stats (g_stats_ip, g_stats_referer) VALUES (?, ? ) "; Command1.Parameters.Append(Command1.CreateParameter("varg_stats_ip", 200, 1, 20, (String(Request.ServerVariables("REMOTE_ADDR")) != "undefined" && String(Request.ServerVariables("REMOTE_ADDR")) != "") ? String(Request.ServerVariables("REMOTE_ADDR")) : String(Command1__varg_stats_ip))); Command1.Parameters.Append(Command1.CreateParameter("varg_stats_referer", 200, 1, 255, (String(Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_REFERER")) != "undefined" && String(Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_REFERER")) != "") ? String(Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_REFERER")) : String(Command1__varg_stats_referer))); Command1.CommandType = 1; Command1.CommandTimeout = 0; Command1.Prepared = true; Command1.Execute(); %> I am not sure how to do it in php - unfortunately for me the hosting is only supporting php so I am more or less clueless on how to do it in php I was thinking if I can somehow call a picture I can do it with pixel tracking in anoter asp page, on another server. Hope this makes better sense

  • Can I automatically throw descriptive exceptions with parameter values and class feild information?

    - by Robert H.
I honestly don't throw exceptions often. I catch them even less, ironically. I currently work in shop where we let them bubble up to avicode. For whatever reason, however, avicode isn't configured to capture some of the critical bits I need when these exceptions come bouncing back to my attention. Specifically, I'd like to see the parameter values and the class’s field data at the time of the exception. I’d guess with the large suite of .Net services that I could create a static method to crawl up the stack, gather these bits and store them in a string that I could stick in my exception message. I really don't are how long such a method would take to execute as performance is no longer a concern when I hit one of these scenarios. If it's possible, I'm sure someone has done it. If that's the case, I'm having a hard time finding it. I think any search containing "exception" brings back too many resutls. Anyway, can this be done? If so, some examples or links would be great. Thanks in advance for your time, Robert

  • Java: Implement own message queue (threadsafe)

    - by derMax
The task is to implement my own messagequeue that is thread safe. My approach: public class MessageQueue { /** * Number of strings (messages) that can be stored in the queue. */ private int capacity; /** * The queue itself, all incoming messages are stored in here. */ private Vector<String> queue = new Vector<String>(capacity); /** * Constructor, initializes the queue. * * @param capacity The number of messages allowed in the queue. */ public MessageQueue(int capacity) { this.capacity = capacity; } /** * Adds a new message to the queue. If the queue is full, it waits until a message is released. * * @param message */ public synchronized void send(String message) { //TODO check } /** * Receives a new message and removes it from the queue. * * @return */ public synchronized String receive() { //TODO check return "0"; } } If the queue is empty and I call remove(), I want to call wait() so that another thread can use the send() method. Respectively, I have to call notifyAll() after every iteration. Question: Is that possible? I mean does it work that when I say wait() in one method of an object, that I can then execute another method of the same object? And another question: Does that seem to be clever?

  • ASP.NET MVC: How to create a usable UrlHelper instance?

    - by Marek
I am using quartz.net to schedule regular events within asp.net mvc application. The scheduled job should call a service layer script that requires a UrlHelper instance (for creating Urls based on correct routes (via urlHelper.Action(..)) contained in emails that will be sent by the service). I do not want to hardcode the links into the emails - they should be resolved using the urlhelper. The job: public class EvaluateRequestsJob : Quartz.IJob { public void Execute(JobExecutionContext context) { // where to get a usable urlHelper instance? ServiceFactory.GetRequestService(urlHelper).RunEvaluation(); } } Please note that this is not run within the MVC pipeline. There is no current request being served, the code is run by the Quartz scheduler at defined times. How do I get a UrlHelper instance usable on the indicated place? If it is not possible to construct a UrlHelper, the other option I see is to make the job "self-call" a controller action by doing a HTTP request - while executing the action I will of course have a UrlHelper instance available - but this seems a little bit hacky to me.

  • NHibernate2 query is wired when fetch the collection from the proxy. Is this correct behavior?

    - by ensecoz
This is my class: public class User { public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual string Name { get; set; } public virtual IList<UserFriend> Friends { get; protected set; } } public class UserFriend { public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual User User { get; set; } public virtual User Friend { get; set; } } This is my mapping (Fluent NHibernate): public class UserMap : ClassMap<User> { public UserMap() { Id(x => x.Id, "UserId").GeneratedBy.Identity(); HasMany<UserFriend>(x => x.Friends); } } public class UserFriendMap : ClassMap<UserFriend> { public UserFriendMap() { Id(x => x.Id, "UserFriendId").GeneratedBy.Identity(); References<User>(x => x.User).TheColumnNameIs("UserId").CanNotBeNull(); References<User>(x => x.Friend).TheColumnNameIs("FriendId").CanNotBeNull(); } } The problem is when I execute this code: User user = repository.Load(1); User friend = repository.Load(2); UserFriend userFriend = new UserFriend(); userFriend.User = user; userFriend.Friend = friend; friendRepository.Save(userFriend); var friends = user.Friends; At the last line, NHibernate generate this query for me: SELECT friends0_.UserId as UserId1_, friends0_.UserFriendId as UserFrie1_1_, friends0_.UserFriendId as UserFrie1_6_0_, friends0_.FriendId as FriendId6_0_, friends0_.UserId as UserId6_0_ FROM "UserFriend" friends0_ WHERE friends0_.UserId=@p0; @p0 = '1' QUESTION: Why the query look very wired? It should select only 3 fields (which are UserFriendId, UserId, FriendId) Am I right? or there is something going on inside NHibernate?
