• Include multiple IP addresses in Google Analytics

  I sometimes access my own website from my home/work/girlfriend IP addresses. I'd like to create a filter that includes any of these and nothing else. I thought a custom include filter with a very basic regex should do the trick. The regex I use is 62\.58\.32\.193|77\.172\.143\.12$|213\.125\.166\.98 to include 62.58.32.193 and 77.172.143.12 and 213.125.166.98 and no other IP addresses. I obviously tested it before using it. However, pageviews seem to be stuck at zero even though I did generate internal traffic. Does anybody understand what I'm doing wrong?

I've recently put a fairly complex "filter" into place which searches my content for mentions of fish species profiles and turns them into an active link. As such, I'm using /?p=1703 or whatever the ID is. What I'd like to know is: how much will this affect my SEO rating/ranking? Will it be detrimental if I don't rewrite the function?   What's the best way to create a neon glow line effect in Flash AS3? Say similar to what's going on in the game gravitron360 on the xbox 360? Would it be a good idea to create movieclips with plain lines drawn in them and then apply a glow filter to them? or perhaps just apply the glow filter to the entire movieclip layer the movieclips are on? or just draw them manually and create a glow effect by converting the lines to fills and then softening edges? (wouldn't blend as well but would be the fastest CPU wise?) Thanks for any help

• Fastest way to move records from a oracle DB into MS sql server after processing

  Hi.. Ok this is the scenario...I have a table in Oracle that acts like a queue... A VB.net program reads the queue and calls a stored proc in MS SQL Server that processes and then inserts the message into another SQL server table and then deletes the record from the oracle table. We use a datareader to read the records from Oracle and then call the stored proc for each of the records. The program seems to be a little slow. The stored procedure itself isnt slow. The SP by itself when called in a loop can process about 2000 records in 20 seconds. BUt when called from the .Net program, the execution time is about 5 records per second. I have seen that most of the time consumed is in calling the stored procedure and waiting for it to return. Is there a better way of doing this? Each session starts at 0. ADD adds an amount, while SET sets it. I want a function to return the end value of a session, e.g. SELECT session_val(1); --returns 45 SELECT session_val(2); --returns 55 Is it possible to write such a function/query? I don't know how to do any iteration-like things with SQL, or if it's possible at all.

• Linq To SQL: Retain list order when using .Contains

  I'm using Lucene.net to build a MyListOfIds As List(Of Integer) which I then pass on to my Linq service. I then search the database as follows Return _EventRepository.Read().Where(Function(e) MyListOfIds.Contains(e.ID)).ToList Now I know that Lucene is already ordering MyListOfIds based on the weight it gave each term. What sucks is that Linq is losing that order in it's SQL search. My Question: How can I retain that sort order when building my Lambda expression? I tried using LINQPad to see how the query is being built, but because I had to declare a variable LINQPad didn't show me the resultant SQL :-( Here's what I tried in LINQPad Dim i As New List(Of Integer) i.Add(1) i.Add(100) i.Add(15) i.Add(3) i.Add(123) Dim r = (From e In Events Where i.Contains(e.ID) Select e) note: my example is in VB.NET, but I don't mind if responses are in C#

  What happens if you call dispatcherOperation.Wait() on an operation that has already completed? Also, the docs say that it returns a DispatcherOperationStatus, but wouldn't that always be Completed since it (supposedly) doesn't return until it's done? Then add a new element. Bob then appears at position 1 instead of at the end, therefore it seems to remember removed entries and re-uses that memory space? Is this documented anywhere because I can't see it on MSDN and has caused me a day of grief because I assumed it would just keep adding to the end.

• GCM: onMessage() from GCMIntentService is never called [migrated]

  I am implementing GCM (Google Cloud Messaging- PUSH Notifications) in my application. I have followed all the steps given in GCM tutorial from developer.android.com My application's build target is pointing to Goolge API 8 (Android 2.2 version). I am able to get the register ID from GCM successfully, and I am passing this ID to my application server. So the registration step is performed successfully. Now when my application server sends a PUSH message to my device, the server gets the message as SUCCESS=1 FAILURE=0, etc., i.e. Server is sending message successfully, but my device never receives the message. After searching alot about this, I came to know that GCM pushes messages on port number 5228, 5229 or 5230. Initially, my device and laptop was restricted for some websites, but then I was granted all the permissions to access all websites, so I guess these port numbers are open for my device. So my question is: I never receive any PUSH message from GCM. My onMessage() from GCMIntenService class is never called. What could be the reason?   On one project, the standard build involved building the database from scratch producing a build log that was about 100,000 lines long.  Manually paging throught this log took hours and it was very easy to miss any errors. The solution was to write a filter that read the log file and output a summary file with each output line pepended with the line number in the original file. Sucessive iterations eliminated more noise lines. Diagnostic displays required escaping. The final output was just a few hundred lines long and the errors were easy to spot. The filter program took less time to to write than one manual pass reading the log file.  The utility digested the log file in about 1 second. Now database build errors could be identified quickly instead of after hours of manual examination or lengthy system testing. A few minutes consideration of the task led to a tremendous improvement in quality.

• Fastest way to move records from an Oracle database into SQL Server

  Ok this is the scenario... I have a table in Oracle that acts like a queue... A VB.net program reads the queue and calls a stored proc in SQL Server that processes and then inserts the message into another SQL Server table and then deletes the record from the oracle table. We use a DataReader to read the records from Oracle and then call the stored proc for each of the records. The program seems to be a little slow. The stored procedure itself isn't slow. The SP by itself when called in a loop can process about 2000 records in 20 seconds. But when called from the .Net program, the execution time is about 5 records per second. I have seen that most of the time consumed is in calling the stored procedure and waiting for it to return. Is there a better way of doing this?   What I'm looking for is to set up a CMS website with a tag cloud/search system where when you click a tag it shows as a search filter, and you get a new tag cloud which only shows tags from the articles that have the primary tag. This should let the user easily include or exclude tags from the search. Also i would like to let the user filter on publication date by using a slider...
