  • How to change the way that timer schedules in TimerTask?

    - by Judking
Here is the code snippet: Timer t = new Timer(); TimerTask task = new TimerTask() { @Override public void run() { //change the timer rate of scheduleAtFixedRate here } }; //every 10 sec t.scheduleAtFixedRate(task, new Date(), 10000); Could anyone tell me how to change the rate of timer to t.scheduleAtFixedRate(task, new Date(), 30000) in method run from TimerTask instance? Thanks a lot!

  • Unusual Template Behavior with XSL

    - by bobber205
    Experiencing some very odd behavior with, what should be, a very simple use of XSL and XSLT. Here's a code sample. <xsl:template match="check"> <div class="check"> <xsl:apply-templates mode="check"> <xsl:with-param name="checkName">testVariable</xsl:with-param> </xsl:apple-templates> </div> </xsl:template> The template called above <xsl:template match="option" mode="check"> <xsl:param name="checkName" /> <div class="option"> <input type="checkbox"> </input> <label> testText </label> </div> </xsl:template> Pretty simple right? It should, for each instance of a instance in the XML create a checkbox in a with a hard coded label. However, what I'm getting is <div class="check"></div> <div class="option>Checkbox stuff here</div> <div class="option>Checkbox stuff here</div> <div class="option>Checkbox stuff here</div> <div class="option>Checkbox stuff here</div> <div class="check"></div> <div class="option>Checkbox stuff here</div> <div class="option>Checkbox stuff here</div> <div class="option>Checkbox stuff here</div> <div class="option>Checkbox stuff here</div> Here's some sample XML <check><option key="1"/><option key="0"/><option key="0"/><option key="0"/><option key="0"/></check> Anyone know what's going on? :D

  • Replace a control on the screen

    - by Rob Bonner
Hello all, I have an instance of a FlowCoverView (a great library that emulates cover flow on the iPhone). And it works great, with the exception of an update. When I update my table behind the scenes, I have no way of telling this control (that is defined in IB) that it has been updated, and to reload. (much like you can with a table using reloadData) To the question, is there a way to replace a control that is on the screen with another control to force the reload?

  • Reflection: different ways to retrieve property value

    - by jules
I'm retrieving an IEnumerable list of properties via following code: BindingFlags bindingFlag = BindingFlags.Instance | BindingFlags.Public; var dataProperties = typeof(myParentObject).GetProperties(bindingFlag); Then I'm iterating through the list and retrieving the value for each property. I've come across two different approaches to doing this, and just wondered what the difference is between them: 1) object propertyValue = property.GetGetMethod().Invoke(myObject, null); 2) object propertValue = property.GetValue(myObject, null)

  • C# - Does foreach() iterate by reference?

    - by sharkin
Consider this: List<MyClass> obj_list = get_the_list(); foreach( MyClass obj in obj_list ) { obj.property = 42; } Is 'obj' a reference to the corresponding object within the list so that when I change the property the change will persist in the object instance once constructed somewhere?

  • What happens to thread as onDestroy is called when device is rotated

    - by Lakshmie
I would like to know as to what will happen to the thread which has been created by an activity and the device is rotated. I have observed that the onDestroy method is called when this happens. Will the thread be killed too? If the thread is not killed, how can I reassociate the thread with the activity as a new instance of the activity is created on rotation. Thanks, Lakshmie

  • static NSStrings in Objective-C

    - by MikeyWard
I frequently see a code snippet like this in class instance methods: static NSString *myString = @"This is a string."; I can't seem to figure out why this works. Is this simply the objc equivalent of a #define that's limited to the method's scope? I (think) I understand the static nature of the variable, but more specifically about NSStrings, why isn't it being alloc'd, init'd? Thanks~

  • Given an array of arguments, how do I send those arguments to a particular function in Ruby?

    - by Steven Xu
Forgive the beginner question, but say I have an array: a = [1,2,3] And a function somewhere; let's say it's an instance function: class Ilike def turtles(*args) puts args.inspect end end How do I invoke Ilike.turtles with a as if I were calling (Ilike.new).turtles(1,2,3). I'm familiar with send, but this doesn't seem to translate an array into an argument list. A parallel of what I'm looking for is the Javascript apply, which is equivalent to call but converts the array into an argument list.

  • creating proxy object in groovy

    - by IttayD
Hi, I am looking for how to write a method that accepts some value and returns a proxy to that value where the underlying value can be retrieved with an accessor: def p = toProxy(1) assert p == 1 assert p * 2 == 2 assert p.underlying == 1 def p2 = toProxy(objWithMethodFoo) p2.foo() p2.underlying.foo() I want to do this per object instance (not for all objects of some class) and without the need to use special 'use' constructs.

  • Java, user input to the command line when using Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command);

    - by user1557354
I dont think this is possible, but I have been using: Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command); to run commands on the command line, but now I have come accross a situation where the command I am running part way through will ask for some user input, for example a username. This can not be resolved by a argument to the command that is being exec, is there any way I can pass the username to the same command line instance and continue? Thanks in advance.

  • How to get MS Word templates directory for another user?

    - by Steve
I'm using the following code to get the path where Word stores its templates: WordTemplatePath:=WordApp.Options.DefaultFilePath[$00000002]; The problem is that this returns the path for the actual, logged-in user. Is there a way to get the path for another user of the same Windows instance? I need it so my installer program can install the templates used by my program for other users as well.

  • Mod_rewrite on all website images

    - by Esteve Camps
I'm designing an image repository. I want to uncouple the filename from the image html link. For instance: image in filesystem is called images/items/12543.jpg HTML is <img src="images/car.jpg" /> Does anyone strongly discourages me to rewrite all image requests using PHP so when retrieving images/car.jpg, Apache really replies content from images/items/12543.jpg? I don't know if I may get performance problems.

  • How to disconnect an existing ruby sequel connection to a database?

    - by MG
I mean the one which was previously established as DB = Sequel.sqlite('my_blog.db') or DB = Sequel.connect('postgres://user:password@localhost/my_db') or DB = Sequel.postgres('my_db', :user => 'user', :password => 'password', :host => 'localhost') or etcetera. The Sequel::Database class has no public instance method called "disconnect" or so though it has "connect" one. Maybe somebody already faced that problem. I would appreciate any idea.
