• jQuery in Opera User JS Doesn't Work

  Hello ::- ). I'm playing with some Opera User JS. I included "1jquery.min.js" in my User JS folder (1 in front because Opera loads them alphabetically). Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be working. window.onload = OnWindowLoad; $(document).ready(function() { alert ($('#area_19')); }); function OnWindowLoad () { alert ($('#area_19')); alert(document.getElementById("area_19")); } What's interesting about this code is that the first two alerts come back in NULL, but the last one does find the object! So the element definitely exists in the page, but my jQuery seems unable to get it. What's even stranger is that the jQuery "ready" function works, indicating that I do have jQuery capability. I'm quite puzzled about all this ::- /. Hopefully somebody can give me a clue ::- ).

  Whenever I add paddingRight to a column in the flex grid, it adds the padding to the header as well. Is anyone familiar with how I can add paddingRight just to the column and not to the header? • DependencyProperty binding not happening on initial load

  I'm trying to do something simple -- make a DependencyProperty and then bind to it. However, the getter doesn't appear to fire when I start up the app. (I'm guessing the solution will make me smack my head and go "Doh!", but still. :) ) Any ideas? • Algorithm to merge adjacent rectangles into polygon

  I guess that my problem is related to "convex hull", but no the same. All shapes in the drawing are rectangles with same width and height. Many are adjacent to each other. I want to combine those adjacent rectangles into polygons. Unlike "convex hull", the resuled polygons could be "hollow" inside. Is there any open source algorithm available?

• Does it take time to deallocate memory?

  I have a C++ program which, during execution, will allocate about 3-8Gb of memory to store a hash table (I use tr1/unordered_map) and various other data structures. However, at the end of execution, there will be a long pause before returning to shell. For example, at the very end of my main function I have std::cout << "End of execution" << endl; But the execution of my program will go something like $ ./program do stuff... End of execution [long pause of maybe 2 min] $ -- returns to shell Is this expected behavior or am I doing something wrong? I'm guessing that the program is deallocating the memory at the end. But, commercial applications which use large amounts of memory (such as photoshop) do not exhibit this pause when you close the application. Please advise :)

  It's not the largest integer type anymore now that there's "long long". It's not a fixed-width type: It's 32 bits on some platforms and 64 on others. It's not necessarily the same size as a pointer (for example, on 64-bit Windows) So, does "long" have any meaning anymore? Is there ever a reason to declare a long instead of a ptrdiff_t or int64_t?

• Block element text overflow problem in IE7

  I'm making a "sort elements" web game using jQuery, HTML & CSS. While everything works fine in FF, IE8, Opera, Chrome, I'm having problem with IE7 wrapping words inside block elements. • Changing API level Android Studio

  I want to change the minimum SDK version in Android Studio from API 12 to API 14. I have tried changing it in the manifest file, i.e., <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="14" android:targetSdkVersion="18" /> and rebuilding the project, but I still get the Android Studio IDE throwing up some errors. I presume I have to set the min SDK in 'project properties' or something similar so the IDE recognises the change, but I can't find where this is done in Android Studio. Pointers greatly appreciated. The only problem I am having is that I would like to use properties inside the constraints. • Flash - Ease out scrolling moviclip, scrolled by sensor on each side

  I am hoping someone can shed some light on this issue for me... I have a movieclip that is scrolled by means of a 'sensor' on each side of the stage. The clip scrolls fine in both directions, however here is my problem: When the users mouse leaves the stage, the movie clip stops dead in it's tracks, and this does not provide a noce smooth effect. Looking at the code below, is there any way I could tell the animation to ease out when the users mouse leaves the stage rather than simply stop suddenly? When I run a search for IS BOOLEAN matches for +doc in the index, I get the first row returned as a result. When I search for +new, I get no results. Can someone explain why? Thanks.
