  • How can I avoid huge communication classes in WCF?

    - by mafutrct
My understanding is that all contract-implementing code has to be in a single class, that can become very large, obviously. How do I avoid this? I really prefer to have a few small classes doing one part of the communication with clients than a single behemoth class. The only idea I could think of is using multiple interfaces implemented by a single class split up by partial, but I don't this this is really solving the issue.

  • What should be DefaultLocation property of VS2010 setup to install application in C:\Users\[username

    - by Michael
I have to install windows service using Visual Studio. Target location for the install is handled by “DefaultLocation” property in Visual Studio setup project. I had used [AppDataFolder] tag to install the application. As the result, it has been installed in “C:\Users[username]\AppData*Roaming*” folder. I can not figure out how to modify “DefaultLocation” property in such a way that application will be installed in C:\Users[username]\AppData*Local* folder. Any idea how to accomplish that?

  • Cancel the calculation if input-mismatch was found

    - by Lert Pianapitham
Hallo everybody, i have programmed a sub procedure, that will be called in the main procedure (called by event of mainForm), to valid the inputs before the main calculation. now i'm searching for a method, how can i cancel the calculation and refocus the mainForm if some inputs mismatch. i think, it's unnecessary to use the Try-Catch statment to trap the error from calculation because i know what is its source and it should be prevented due to the code preformance. Has someone an idea to due with this? best regards Lert Pianapitham

  • Creating a C# DLL and using it from unmanaged C++

    - by John
I have a native (unmanaged) C++ application (using wxWidgets for what it's worth). I'm considering a separate tool application to be written in C# which would contain winform-based dialogs. putting some of those dialogs in a separate DLL would be useful as I'd hope to be able to use them from my C++ app. But I have no idea how much messing about is needed to accomplish this, is it particularly easy?

  • jQuery: How to write a function on click, hold and move?

    - by Syom
I started learning jQuery just yesterday, and I like it very much. And now I decided to write a script where I can change the margin-left of an image when I click on it, hold the clicking and move the mouse. Depending on mouse coordinates I must change the image's margin-left. Could you give me an idea how I can do it? Thanks.

  • Android segmented downloading

    - by xRev
I'm still new to Android, so, I'm still not so familiar with its libraries and APIs. My first major project is a download manager which supports segmented downloading. I could already download files, but, I still have no idea on how or where to start for segmented downloading. I have already browsed a lot of threads, but I really couldn't find any article or thread about segmented downloading in Android. Can anyone please help me?

  • Returning an error code in Erlang

    - by Zubair
I'm writing some Erlang code and I'm very unsure whether I should let everything fail fast. One problem I find with fail fast is that for the developer/user the exception generated is pretty meaningless. Any idea what I should return which would not give esoteric and hard to read stack traces?

    - by Kyle
I have an assignment in which I need to declare a pipe in a header file. I really have no idea how to do this. It might be a really stupid question and I might be missing something obvious. If you could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your time.

I'm running Rails 2.3.5 with the newest version of ROXML. Thanks

  • Heuristic for sliding tile problem.

    - by MustDash
The idea is to move all of the right elements into the left and the left into the right with an empty space in the middle. The elements can either jump over one or two pieces into an empty space. LLL[ ]RRR I'm trying to think of a heuristic for this task. Is the heuristic meant to aid in finding a possible solution, or actually return a number of moves as the solution? How would I express such a heuristic?

  • Where does code within Script tags go in the resulting AS class?

    - by Hanno Fietz
I was wondering what happens to the code contained in an <mx:Script> tag. If I define a function tehre, it just becomes a member function of the generated class. But I noticed that it seems OK for the compiler if I just write some (static) method calls there (specifically, I call Font.registerFont()). I feel kind of guilty for doing this, because I have no idea what's really happening and when the code gets executed.
