  I am looking for method to disable Browser Cache for entire ASP.Net MVC Website I found following method, Response.Cache.SetCacheability(System.Web.HttpCacheability.NoCache); Response.Cache.SetNoStore(); and also meta tag method, ( It wont work for me , since some MVC Actions send partial html/json through ajax, without head,meta tag ) <meta http-equiv="PRAGMA" content="NO-CACHE"> But i am looking for simple method, to disable browser cache for entire website.

• Float PPM image file format?

  I've found a PPM image with the header starting with PF. The resolution number is stored in floating point (-1.000). No comments are inserted to get how it was produced. From the resolution, each pixel is composed by 12 bytes (4 bytes per component)... I suppose they are float or integer numbers. The problem is that I cannot get a clear image. Someone has already found this kind of images?

  Right so i am working with hibernate gilead and gwt to persist my data on users and files of a website. my users have a list of file locations. i am using annotations to map my classes to the database. i am getting a org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException when i try to add file locations to the list that is held in the user class. this is a method below that is overridden from a external file upload servlet class that i am using. when the file uploads it calls this method. the user1 is loaded from the database elsewhere. the exception occurs at user1.getFileLocations().add(fileLocation); • When should I use Perl's AUTOLOAD?

  In "Perl Best Practices" the very first line in the section on AUTOLOAD is: Don't use AUTOLOAD However all the cases he describes are dealing with OO or Modules. I have a stand alone script in which some command line switches control which versions of particular functions get defined. Now I know I could just take the conditionals and the evals and stick them naked at the top of my file before everything else, but I find it convenient and cleaner to put them in AUTOLOAD at the end of the file. Is this bad practice / style? If you think so why, and is there a another way to do it? As per brian's request I'm basically using this to do conditional compilation based on command line switches. • When would you prefer to declare an exception rather than handling it in Java?

  I know we can declare the exception for our method if we want it to be handled by the calling method. This will even allow us to do stuff like write to the OutputStream without wrapping the code in try/catch block if the enclosing method throws IOException. My question is: Can anyone provide an instance where this is usually done where you'd like the super class to handle the exception instead of the current method?

• iPad OpenGL ES FPS too slow!

  I'm currently working on an OpenGL ES 1.1 app for the iPad its running at full 768x1024 iPad resolution, with textures, polygons, and the works but only at about 30 fps! (not fast enough for my purposes) im pretty sure its not my code, because when i lowered the resolution, the FPS increased, eventually the normal 60 at iPod touch resoultion Is anyone else encountering this FPS slowdown? should I reduce the size then scale up? any guidance is much appreciated!

Otherwise, keep on invoking method until all exceptions are caught. - Move on to next object. I can iterate through each object, invoke the method, and catch one exception but I do not know how to continuously invoke the method on it and keep on catching exceptions :S Thanks :)

I know you can typically acquire a still image at a higher resolution than a single video frame. Currently, I am using MATLAB's image acquisition toolbox.. which apparently only supports obtaining frames in video mode(so lower resolution). Which other libraries do you recommend? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

• What to Return? Error String, Bool with Error String Out, or Void with Exception

  I spend most of my time in C# and am trying to figure out which is the best practice for handling an exception and cleanly return an error message from a called method back to the calling method. For example, here is some ActiveDirectory authentication code. Please imagine this Method as part of a Class (and not just a standalone function.) bool IsUserAuthenticated(string domain, string user, string pass, out errStr) { bool authentic = false; try { // Instantiate Directory Entry object DirectoryEntry entry = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://" + domain, user, pass); // Force connection over network to authenticate object nativeObject = entry.NativeObject; // No exception thrown? We must be good, then. authentic = true; } catch (Exception e) { errStr = e.Message().ToString(); } return authentic; } The advantages of doing it this way are a clear YES or NO that you can embed right in your If-Then-Else statement. The downside is that it also requires the person using the method to supply a string to get the Error back (if any.) I guess I could overload this method with the same parameters minus the "out errStr", but ignoring the error seems like a bad idea since there can be many reasons for such a failure... Alternatively, I could write a method that returns an Error String (instead of using "out errStr") in which a returned empty string means that the user authenticated fine. string AuthenticateUser(string domain, string user, string pass) { string errStr = ""; try { // Instantiate Directory Entry object DirectoryEntry entry = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://" + domain, user, pass); // Force connection over network to authenticate object nativeObject = entry.NativeObject; } catch (Exception e) { errStr = e.Message().ToString(); } return errStr; } But this seems like a "weak" way of doing things. The downside with this way of doing it is that the user has to put this method in a try-catch block. Thoughts? Is there another way of doing this that I'm not thinking of?

I don't want this. So my question is + Why query String hpql = "SELECT n FROM Node n "; issues un-expected trace logs like above. Why the query String hpql = "SELECT n.nodename FROM Node n " not? What is the mechanism behind? Note: Im using hibernate caching level 2. In case I don't want to see that trace logs. I mean I just get Node data only. How to do ? Thanks for your help.   I need some help deciding what to use to acquire an image from a webcam. I want to acquire a single image. I know you can typically acquire a still image at a higher resolution than a single video frame. Currently, I am using MATLAB's image acquisition toolbox.. which apparently only supports obtaining frames in video mode(so lower resolution). Which other libraries do you recommend? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

  It's my first time trying to make anything really interesting in C# and I was trying to make a simple form or game screen where the user could define a custom resolution/screen ratio etc. or to automatically detect the max screen size/ratio and output? its my first game, so I was wondering if it was possible or if there would be any major issues with such, rather than just setting it to 1366x768 (the resolution of all of my computers).   Hi, I want to use JpaInspector class that is written for Metawidget. However when I insert this class into my Java project in Netbeans 6.8, It gives an error for inspectProperty() method of JpaInspector class, "method does not override or implement a method from supertype". Does it mean that parent class of JpaInspector, that is BaseObjectInspector, does not have such a method? Or what should I do to use JpaInspector in my project? Thanks.

• track mouse movements on 800 x 600 and show on 1024 x 768

  i am tracking the mouse movements of a user using javascript and storing it along with the browser resolution. Then i can check the user mouse movement in my browser which is 1024 x 768 resolution. But if the user is using a browser in 800 x 600 then the mouse movements are recorded wrt 800 x 600. And when i see the mouse movements in 1024 x 768 the mouse movements are wrong. So how can i scale from 800 x 600 to 1024x 768?
