  • How to integrate vBulletin auth with my site?

    - by Exel
Hello, I need to use vBulletin auth system on the rest of my site. Does vB has any APIs for that? Im expecting to find something like that: if($vBulletin->isAuthenticated()) { // user authenticated } In case of vB does not have such API, is there any other ways to check if user is authenticated?

  • Comparing file contents in F#

    - by Bartosz Milewski
I wrote a quick and dirty function to compare file contents (BTW, I have already tested that they are of equal size): let eqFiles f1 f2 = let bytes1 = Seq.ofArray (File.ReadAllBytes f1) let bytes2 = Seq.ofArray (File.ReadAllBytes f2) let res = Seq.compareWith (fun x y -> (int x) - (int y)) bytes1 bytes2 res = 0 I'm not happy with reading the whole contents into an array. I'd rather have a lazy sequence of bytes, but I can't find the right API in F#.

  • Changing the working directory for a process remotely

    - by Michael
I've got an application that has a bug right now, but we're unable to update the end-user to get the fix out. What a possible workaround would be is to change the working directory to the application's install directory, but from what I can tell, there's no way to do that outside of the program itself. Is there some sort of Windows API call that can change other processes' working directories, or is that not available due to security issues? I figure it's not possible.

  • How can I list the properties of an object programmatically in VB6?

    - by Gregory Higley
A friend of mine is working on a legacy VB6 project. I haven't touched that language in ten years, so I'm pretty rusty. Anyway, is there any kind of reflection API for VB6? Specifically, he needs a way to iterate the properties (and types) of a user-created Class. (In other words, not an external COM object, but an internal "Class Module" as it's called.) How can this be done?

  • Tomcat error with Hibernate 3.51 / Java EE 6

    - by DD
I just upgraded to hibernate 3.51 and I get an error now saying: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: javax.persistence.OneToMany.orphanRemoval () Z. This only happens with Tomcat not with Jetty. I've checked and I don't have any conflict and this method definitely exists. I have hibernate-jpa-2.0-api-1.0.0.Final.jar on the class path, and dont have any conflicting classes. Any suggestions?

  • How to indicate map language?

    - by Matt
Just like you type "maps.google.com.tw" or "maps.google.co.kr" or "maps.google.co.jp", you can see their own language shown on every country. Is there any property that I can use in Google maps api to dynamically set google maps using specific language to display?

  • Calling Python from Ruby

    - by Yktula
Would it be possible to integrate Python and Ruby with some degree of transparency? I've looked at http://www.goto.info.waseda.ac.jp/~fukusima/ruby/python/doc/ , but it seems rather outdated. Perhaps this is not an appropriate approach, but would it be possible to generate a Ruby interface for Python's C API?

  • Launch Scala REPL programatically?

    - by David Crawshaw
I would like to launch a Scala Swing application from the command line, then after the application is started, drop into the Scala REPL to use as a control interface. Ideally I would also like to pre-bind some variable names. Even better would be using a Java2D terminal emulator for the REPL, but I couldn't find anything appropriate. Does the Scala REPL have a public API?

  • technologies beside scaling web applications in a distributed nature

    - by wik
Hello, I am interested in theory to scale web applications in a distributed nature, i.e. when there is some platform/stack can be extended by others applications running on different servers, etc. I am researching this field and feels the lack of the right keywords :) Interesting concepts found so far: opensocial through API, like shopify does (shopify it's a hosted ecommerce solution) semantic web not quite sure about this one Am I on the right way or am I lost anything? :) Thanks.

  • Frameworks for JavaScript UI Widgets?

    - by ChrisInCambo
I'm trying to put together a list of JavaScript UI widget frameworks for consideration in a project. Ideally it would be a library that has a range of ready made ui widgets, no dependencies on dom/js extention/manipulation frameworks like JQuery or Prototype, minimal additional cruft, such as Ajax API's and DOM selectors etc. Here's what I have so far: qooxdoo, ScriptClient ExtJs Could anyone suggest any other that are worth a look? Please do not suggest, JQuery, Prototype, Mootools, Dojo etc, their primary focus is not to provide ui widgets.

  • process tree

    - by Robert
I'm looking for an easy way to find the process tree (as shown by tools like Process Explorer), in C# or other .Net language. It would also be useful to find the command-line arguments of another process (the StartInfo on System.Diagnostics.Process seems invalid for process other than the current process). I think these things can only be done by invoking the win32 api, but I'd be happy to be proved wrong. Thanks! Robert

  • How do I create lines while dragging a menu item on a WinForm? C#

    - by Bryan
I want to mimic the functionality of Google Chrome/FireFox for example, when rearranging your bookmarks, when you are dragging the menu item, it creates a line at the proposed drop point. I've already implemented the Drag/Drop functionality to rearrange the menu, but I would like to add these separator lines as an additional feature. Is there a way to do this within the .NET Framework (3.5) or shall I have to resort to Win32 api calls? Just wanted to ask before I went down that path.

    - by Petey B
Is it possible to talk to Microsoft's Crypto API from a client side application in a browser? What should I know? Where should I start? I am looking to make a dummy application where a user can write a message and sign it with his private key, all through his browser using CAPI. Thanks

  • Is there an easy way to read an XML file in Java?

    - by user303135
I'm fairly new to Java and am writing an app that needs an XML config file. The problem I have is that there doesn't seem to be any easy way to do this, which seems a bit strange. I've looked SAX and DOM and both seem quite complicated. Are there any other good API's out there? What's the best way to do this in Java? Thanks...

  • Deploy Connectivity Platform Folder/Files

    - by Dave
I'm using the Microsoft.SmartDevice.Connectivity features, but I do not know how to get the CoreCon Folder and files under "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\corecon\1.0\1033" deployed as part of an install project. The "new DatastoreManager(1033)" fails becouse users of my app do not have that folder and device xml files. Any Ideas of how to install or deploy those files? I assume I have those as part of an API I've installed, but can not pinpoint the source. Thanks

  • Rails Google Maps integration Javascript problem

    - by JZ
I'm working on Rails 3.0.0.beta2, following Advanced Rails Recipes "Recipe #32, Mark locations on a Google Map" and I hit a road block: I do not see a google map. My @adds view uses @adds.to_json to connect the google maps api with my model. My database contains "latitude" "longitude", as floating points. And the entire project can be accessed at github. Can you see where I'm not connecting the to_json output with the javascript correctly? Can you see other glairing errors in my javascript? Thanks in advance! My application.js file: function initialize() { if (GBrowserIsCompatible() && typeof adds != 'undefined') { var map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map")); map.setCenter(new GLatLng(37.4419, -122.1419), 13); map.addControl(new GLargeMapControl()); function createMarker(latlng, add) { var marker = new GMarker(latlng); var html="<strong>"+add.first_name+"</strong><br />"+add.address; GEvent.addListener(marker,"click", function() { map.openInfoWindowHtml(latlng, html); }); return marker; } var bounds = new GLatLngBounds; for (var i = 0; i < adds.length; i++) { var latlng=new GLatLng(adds[i].latitude,adds[i].longitude) bounds.extend(latlng); map.addOverlay(createMarker(latlng, adds[i])); } map.setCenter(bounds.getCenter(),map.getBoundsZoomLevel(bounds)); } } window.onload=initialize; window.onunload=GUnload; Layouts/adds.html.erb: <script src="http://maps.google.com/maps?file=api&amp;v=2&amp;sensor=true_or_false&amp;key=ABQIAAAAeH4ThRuftWNHlwYdvcK1QBTJQa0g3IQ9GZqIMmInSLzwtGDKaBQvZChl_y5OHf0juslJRNx7TbxK3Q" type="text/javascript"></script> <% if @adds -%> <script type="text/javascript"> var maps = <%= @adds.to_json %>; </script> <% end -%>
