How does one implement lists such as a list of months in the year, or a list of years in DDD? Where does the logic go, inside value objects, a service, is it part of the domain layer?
I'm trying to resolve a reflection warning in Clojure that seems to result from the lack of type inference on function return values that are normal Java objects.
Trivial example code that demonstrates the issue:
(set! *warn-on-reflection* true)
(defn foo [#^Integer x] (+ 3 x))
(.equals (foo 2) (foo 2))
=> Reflection warning, NO_SOURCE_PATH:10 - call to equals can't be resolved.
true
What is the best way to solve this? Can this be done with type hints?
I am just trying to better understand the directX pipeline. Just curious if depth buffers are mandatory in order to get things work. Or is it just a buffer you need if you want objects to appear behind one another.
I will be creating flatfiles and based on the data in the batch, it might be necessary to split the data into an undetermined number of files.
I can make the connection string dynamic with an expression, but that is only evaluated when the package starts. I'd like to change that expression to include a '-a' or '-b' in the filename.
Alternately, if I have to create new connection manager objects at run time on demand, how do I go about that?
I have a small Java Swing application that I want to rewrite in WPF .NET.
The application uses a JTable with an AbstractTableModel and a custom TableCellRenderer. I use my custom cell renderer to display the objects in two rows.
What is the corresponding WPF .NET component to JTable?
Im using the .NET framework 1.1 and Im hoping someone could help me implement a dynamic array of objects?
A watered-down example of the object I wish use is below.
Class CarObj
{
public string CarName;
public string CarYear;
}
Should I use an ArrayList or do you think it would be better to make a CarList class to implement an IList interface? Is there a performance benefit for one over another?
I have a screen with two RadioButtonField objects. By default, the first RadioButtonField shows a rectangle around it to show its selected, and the rectangle moves if you change the selection to the other RadioButtonField or other buttons and textboxes on the page. What I would like to know is...is there a way to hide this border that shows the selection/border?
I know that objects are treated pretty much like singletons in scala. However, I have been unable to find an elegant way to specify default behavior on initial instantiation. I can accomplish this by just putting code into the body of the object declaration but this seems overly hacky. Using an apply doesn't really work because it can be called multiple times and doesn't really make sense for this use case.
Any ideas on how to do this?
I am busy working on a java app to run on blackberries but on some devices i am testing on, the code does not seem to be working and im having a hard time pinpointing where the problem lies.
My question is: Could the problem with some phones working and not working have t odo with the type of network they are running on such GSM vs CDMA and would the code that stops working on some devices be in one of the following areas:
1) Listeners - such as MessageListener and Phone Listener
2) UI Objects - simple test labels and buttons
3) Connection to a web service using ksoap2
Do you find Zend_Registry useful?
For which tasks it should be used? For which not?
Global state for variables is not a good practice.
Main objects may have global state injected via $front->setParam('paramName', $object),
so what's the purpose of Zend_Registry?.
Hi,
i have a large dictionary I'd like to save. I have pickled it using cPickle.dumps and saved the result into a TextField. When trying to retrieve it (cPicle.loads) i get the following error:
loads() argument 1 must be string, not unicode
Does anybody have any experience in serializing python objects and storing them in a DB using Django? Thanks in advance.
Hi all,
Am currently working on a site that uses a lot of cfwindow objects and I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to dynamically resize the window so that all the content fits in without the need for scroll bars.
I have tried using the overflow=visible configuration but it doesnt seem to make a difference.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
I want to use unity (2.0) to resolve my dependencies in a way so that i can configure policy injection (policies, matching rules and call handlers) in the .config file.
Or an other way to put it; i want my resolved objects to be "policy enabled", so that i can add and change to policies in config without have to recompile.
Any ideas on how to do that?
public static T IsNull<T>(object value, T defaultValue)
{
turn ((Object.Equals(value,null)) | (Object.Equals(value,DBNull.Value)) ?
defaultValue : (T)value);
}
public static T IsNull<T>(object value) where T :new()
{
T defaultvalue = new T();
return IsNull(value, defaultvalue);
}
Have tested, and can use against data objects, classes and variables.
Just want to know if there is better way to go about this.
Hi,
I have a ListBox which is bound to a list of objects. When the system initializes, the binding is done just fine, When i update the value in one of the fields on the ListBox, the item in the background updates as well, but when i update the value in the background it is not reflected in the ListBox.
Does anyone know why this is?
Hi,
I am looking for how to write a method that accepts some value and returns a proxy to that value where the underlying value can be retrieved with an accessor:
def p = toProxy(1)
assert p == 1
assert p * 2 == 2
assert p.underlying == 1
def p2 = toProxy(objWithMethodFoo)
p2.foo()
p2.underlying.foo()
I want to do this per object instance (not for all objects of some class) and without the need to use special 'use' constructs.
Hi,
I have a method with a nested foreach collection (iterate a set of objects and then look inside each object). I saw in a book a good pattern to make this much more elegant but cannot remember/find the code example. How else could I make this more tidy?
The code is just a typical nested foreach statement so I have not provided a code sample.
Thanks
I wanna sth like Spring framework to use in client side. Actually I am going to abstract ui from data sources that may be added to system while it is up. An XML will be injected to system and ui will be generated automatically. Client side use would be able to search on new data source while objects are created in client side.
Thanks
How can i loop thru a stl::List and store the value of one of the objects for use later in the function?
Particle *closestParticle;
for(list<Particle>::iterator p1 = mParticles.begin(); p1 != mParticles.end(); ++p1 )
{
// Extra stuff removed
closestParticle = p1; // fails
}
I would like to start learning Java, but there are so many resources out there... I am having a hard time deciding which path to take. I saw a neat book, Objects First with Java, and I tested out Bluej and some tutorials. Anyone use this and have comments?
When using Zend Studio to write views for a MVC framework, is there any way of having those variables autocomplete, perhaps using PHPdoc?
For example, I set a variable in a view called $cart which is an instance of my ShoppingCart class. When I type "$cart-", I'd like the IDE to pop up with all of the objects properties.
Say I have one class ClassBig with 100 methods inside, and a second with only 10 methods ClassSmall
When I have objects at runtime
ClassBig big = new ClassBig();
ClassSmall small = new ClassSmall();
Does the larger class take up more memory space?
If both classes contained an identical method, does the larger class take longer to execute it?
I asked to my friend about this question, he said that it is used for destroying the object created during the exception handling. But in c# GC is there for destroying such kinds of unused objects, then what is the actual use of finally block. Tell me with a scenario related to that.
Hello!
To empty database table, I use this SQL Query:
TRUNCATE TABLE `books`
How to I Truncate table using Django models and orm?
I've tried this, but it doesn't work:
Book.objects.truncate()
I have never spent much time debugging multithreaded .NET apps (or others), and have quite a simple one to solve very quickly. Ideally I would imagined and would lurve to be able to intercept thread creation and use by worker objects, so that nothing unexpected happens while I'm on a breakpoint in my thread. Is that realistic?
What else is there in VS 2010?
