  • can bound negative space be used in SVG?

    - by Anthony
If I have a map of three countries, and their borders form the outline of a sea, is their a way with SVG to give that bound area attributes and style? Another example might be three triangles which form a third triangle in the center (like the triforce). If someone wanted to make that middle empty area glow (or whatever)...

    - by Roman A. Taycher
Not having them used them all that much I'm not quite sure all that lambdas/blocks can be used for (other than map/collect/do/lightweight local function syntax). If some people could post some interesting but somewhat understandable examples (with explanation). preferred languages for examples: python, smalltalk, haskell

  • How to change or remove all traces of original author name in Excel 2010 document

    - by Adam Ryczkowski
At our company we need to deploy one Excel Workbook in that way that nobody would see it is made by us by looking at the Office metadata. What fields do we need to look for? I know, that the document has track of original writer and the last save author. But is it all? I guess there might be some hidden properties, that might give our company name. Where to look for such fields? Is there any good editor available, or will explorer's property page give enough power? I use Excel 2010

  • get values from table as key value pairs with jquery

    - by liz
    I have a table: <table class="datatable" id="hosprates"> <caption> hospitalization rates test</caption> <thead> <tr> <th scope="col">Funding Source</th> <th scope="col">Alameda County</th> <th scope="col">California</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <th scope="row">Medi-Cal</th> <td>34.3</td> <td>32.3</td> </tr> <tr> <th scope="row">Private</th> <td>32.2</td> <td>34.2</td> </tr> <tr> <th scope="row">Other</th> <td>22.7</td> <td>21.7</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> i want to retrieve column 1 and column 2 values per row as pairs that end up looking like this [funding,number],[funding,number] i did this so far, but when i alert it, it only shows [object, object]... var myfunding = $('#hosprates tbody tr').each(function(){ var funding = new Object(); funding.name = $('#hosprates tbody tr td:nth-child(1)').map(function() { return $(this).text().match(/\S+/)[0]; }).get(); funding.value= $('#hosprates tbody tr td:nth-child(2)').map(function() { return $(this).text().match(/\S+/)[0]; }).get(); }); alert (myfunding);

  • An idea for something similar to delicious bookmarking

    - by Andrew Welch
Hi, This is an idea more than a question, but I thought it would be the right community. I really like mindmapping as a way to organise information and I think it would be really cool to have a piece of software that allowed you to organise bookmarks into a dynamic mind map. If I get time I would start to create such a thing. Any thoughts or does it already exist? Thanks Andy

  • Create and populate two-dimensional array in Scala

    - by ~asteinlein
What's the recommended way of creating a pre-populated two-dimensional array in Scala? I've got the following code: val map = for { x <- (1 to size).toList } yield for { y <- (1 to size).toList } yield (x, y) How do I make an array instead of list? Replacing .toList with .toArray doesn't compile. And is there a more concise or readable way of doing this than the nested for expressions?

  • Easiest way to export longitude and latitude data stored in a SQLite database to a file so it can be

    - by LordSnoutimus
Hello, I have created an application that records a series of longitude and latitude values in a SQLite database and display them as a coloured track on a MapActivity. I now want to be able to export this data somehow (preferably to a file) so a user can upload the values to a website showing a Google Map API. My question is: what would be the quickest way to export the data (and in what file format: GPX, XML, CSV) to the SD card located on the Android device. Many thanks.

  • Disappearing Windows Explorer pinned items

    - by surfmadpig
This has happened twice now in three months: After rebooting, ALL the pinned items from my Windows Explorer taskbar jumplist are gone. Also, recent items from Windows Explorer are much fewer, only one or two if I remember correctly. After the first time I re-pinned the items I wanted, but about a month later it happened again. I re-pinned All other pinned items in other jumplists (e.g. Word) are fine and have never disappeared. Googling for the problem showed that ccleaner can affect this, but I personally do NOT use any cleaners or related progs on this machine. I also think that both times it happened it was after a windows update, although I can't recall what kind of update it was. After each time, Little Registry Editor showed invalid references in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RecentDocs , but I had NOT used it prior to the deletions. Any ideas on why this happens and how to prevent it?

  • taglib with constants functionality?

    - by jack
I need to use some constants in my JSP. Now I'd like to use this without using scriptlets. (and adding getters is not an option, it's an external jar) Using the search I've seen that some people put them in a map. However I've seen that there's a constants function in the unstandard taglib but that is a few years old and so far I haven't found a maven repository with it. So are there any other taglibs with this functionality?

  • Does OpenGL ES support environment shaders?

    - by Soviut
I want to make metallic 3d object that appears to be reflective. I want to accomplish this using an environment shader that uses either a sphere or cube map that I can assign an image or texture as the "reflection" source. Does OpenGL ES on the iPhone support this in any versions?

  • How to share malicious source code?

    - by darma
I have a client whose site (not one i developed) is infected by a trojan/malicious code. I have asked him to send me the dirty files in a zip but either gmail or unzipping is blocking them. I've tried text files and word files, and i'm suspecting many different file types will be blocked the same way, either by my mail client, anti-malware software, browser etc. (which is normal). Do you know a way he could share those lines so i can read them and do some research about the malicious source code? An image/screenshot of his text editor would be an idea but the files are long + i'd prefer to be able to copy/paste from them. Thank you!

  • Rails Pretty URL with Decimals

    - by Kevin Sylvestre
I have a rails application that allows searches using longitude and latitude. I have added a 'pretty' route with: map.connect 'stores/near/:longitude/:latitude', :controller => 'stores', :action => 'index' This works for integer latitude and longitude values (http://localhost:3000/stores/near/-88/49) but fails for decimal values (http://localhost:3000/stores/near/-88.341/49.123) giving: Routing Error No route matches "/stores/near/-88/49.0" with {:method=>:get} Any ideas how to use pretty URLs in rails with decimals?

  • How to access Windows Registry from DOS

    - by SEARAS
How to access Windows Registry from DOS? I need to access registry from DOS, while I boot from DOS bootable disk. I've searched all the internet, and found only Offline NT Password and Registry Editor, which can not be used in DOS, as I understand. Also I've found RegView (from many mirrors), which isn't working too (I've tried many instructions). Is there any easy-in-usage tool, like reg.exe, which is able to load registry hives, so that I can change registry values?? Or any working instructions ?? Note: I already have a bootable drive, which can read/write to NTFS drives. Thanks in advance!

  • Calculating rotation and translation matrices between two odometry positions for monocular linear triangulation

    - by user1298891
Recently I've been trying to implement a system to identify and triangulate the 3D position of an object in a robotic system. The general outline of the process goes as follows: Identify the object using SURF matching, from a set of "training" images to the actual live feed from the camera Move/rotate the robot a certain amount Identify the object using SURF again in this new view Now I have: a set of corresponding 2D points (same object from the two different views), two odometry locations (position + orientation), and camera intrinsics (focal length, principal point, etc.) since it's been calibrated beforehand, so I should be able to create the 2 projection matrices and triangulate using a basic linear triangulation method as in Hartley & Zissermann's book Multiple View Geometry, pg. 312. Solve the AX = 0 equation for each of the corresponding 2D points, then take the average In practice, the triangulation only works when there's almost no change in rotation; if the robot even rotates a slight bit while moving (due to e.g. wheel slippage) then the estimate is way off. This also applies for simulation. Since I can only post two hyperlinks, here's a link to a page with images from the simulation (on the map, the red square is simulated robot position and orientation, and the yellow square is estimated position of the object using linear triangulation.) So you can see that the estimate is thrown way off even by a little rotation, as in Position 2 on that page (that was 15 degrees; if I rotate it any more then the estimate is completely off the map), even in a simulated environment where a perfect calibration matrix is known. In a real environment when I actually move around with the robot, it's worse. There aren't any problems with obtaining point correspondences, nor with actually solving the AX = 0 equation once I compute the A matrix, so I figure it probably has to do with how I'm setting up the two camera projection matrices, specifically how I'm calculating the translation and rotation matrices from the position/orientation info I have relative to the world frame. How I'm doing that right now is: Rotation matrix is composed by creating a 1x3 matrix [0, (change in orientation angle), 0] and then converting that to a 3x3 one using OpenCV's Rodrigues function Translation matrix is composed by rotating the two points (start angle) degrees and then subtracting the final position from the initial position, in order to get the robot's straight and lateral movement relative to its starting orientation Which results in the first projection matrix being K [I | 0] and the second being K [R | T], with R and T calculated as described above. Is there anything I'm doing really wrong here? Or could it possibly be some other problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • can't add a custom marker to Google maps ( JS )

    - by user296516
Hi, Was wondering, how do I add a custom marker to google maps, JavaScript, integrated into my site. This code adds a regular marker: var marker = new GMarker(center); map.addOverlay(marker); but where do I insert an image tag (say, "marker.png" ) for it to appear instead of the regular google marker? Thanks!
