  • Bitwise operation on void* in C#

    - by code poet
So I am Reflector-ing some framework 2.0 code and end up with the following deconstruction fixed (void* voidRef3 = ((void*) & _someMember)) { ... } This won't compile due to 'The right hand side of a fixed statement assignment may not be a cast expression' I understand that Reflector can only approximate and generally I can see a clear path but this is a bit outside my experience. Question: what is Reflector trying to describe to me? Update: Am also seeing the following fixed (IntPtr* ptrRef3 = ((IntPtr*) & this._someMember))

  • Equivalent to Bash Alias in Powershell

    - by RightFullRudder
Hi there, a newbie powershell question: I'd like to make an alias in powershell exactly equivalent to this Bash alias: alias django-admin-jy="jython /path/to/jython-dev/dist/bin/django-admin.py" In tinkering with it so far, I've found this to be very difficult. -Powershell Aliases only work with Powershell commands + function calls -No clear way to allow for an unlimited number of args on a powershell function call -Powershell seems to block stdout

  • A simple way to implement pathfinding using bullet physics - iPhone SDK

    - by Dave
Hi, I have bullet physics set up and working on the iPhone but now I want to implement some sort of path finding with it. The problem is I have no idea where to start, the level is pretty simple just a lot of pillars that I want the 'bad guys' to navigate around to get to the player character. Do you have any suggestions or are there any tutorials you recommend for pathfinding using this on the iPhone?

  • Trying to read FormsAuthentication tickets to read in other areas of site

    - by Pasha Aryana
Hi, NOTE: I have included 3 links in here to my localhost areas but could not submit the post so I seperetaed them with a space character so it would post on stackoverflow. I currently have 2 ASP.NET MVC apps in my solution. First I run the first one by setting it to be startup project. It goes to the login page, from there once the data has been entered I execute the following code: var authTicket = new FormsAuthenticationTicket(1, login.LoginDataContract.MSISDN, DateTime. Now, DateTime.Now.AddMinutes(Convert.ToDouble("30")), true, ""); string cookieContents = FormsAuthentication.Encrypt(authTicket); var cookie = new HttpCookie(FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName, cookieContents) { Expires = authTicket.Expiration, //Path = FormsAuthentication.FormsCookiePath //Path = "http://localhost" Domain = "" }; if (System.Web.HttpContext.Current != null) { System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Response.Cookies.Add(cookie); } As you can see I have set the Domain = "", so theoretically speaking it should work on any thing under my http: //localhost. Then I have set the persist security of the cookie to true so I can access it from any where under localhost. The cookie writes fine and I get logged in and all godd for now. BTW the url for this login page is: http //localhost/MyAccount/Login Now then I stop the solution and set the other MVC apps to be the startup. Then I run it. The URL for the second site is: http: //localhost/WebActivations/ Here is the code in the other apps start controller: public class HomeController : Controller { public ActionResult Index() { ViewData["Message"] = "Welcome to ASP.NET MVC!"; // PASHA: Added code to read the authorization cookie set at // login in MyAccount *.sln for (int i = 0; i < System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Request.Cookies.Count;i++) { Response.Write(System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Request.Cookies[i].Name + " " + System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Request.Cookies[i].Value); } HttpCookie authorizationCookie = System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Request.Cookies[FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName.ToString()]; // decrypt. FormsAuthenticationTicket authorizationForm = FormsAuthentication.Decrypt(authorizationCookie.Value); ViewData["Message"] = authorizationForm.UserData[0].ToString(); return View(); } public ActionResult About() { return View(); } The problem is in this Home controller when I run the solution it cannot read the authentication cookie, you see the loop there it does not find the .ASPXAUTH cookie. But once it crashes in Firefox I have a look in the Page Info and then security and Cookies and its there and its the same cookie. What am I doing wrong?

  • Slow performance when utilizing Interop.DSOFile to search files by Custom Document Property

    - by Gradatc
I am new to the world of VB.NET and have been tasked to put together a little program to search a directory of about 2000 Excel spreadsheets and put together a list to display based on the value of a Custom Document Property within that spreadsheet file. Given that I am far from a computer programmer by education or trade, this has been an adventure. I've gotten it to work, the results are fine. The problem is, it takes well over a minute to run. It is being run over a LAN connection. When I run it locally (using a 'test' directory of about 300 files) it executes in about 4 seconds. I'm not sure even what to expect as a reasonable execution speed, so I thought I would ask here. The code is below, if anyone thinks changes there might be of use in speeding things up. Thank you in advance! Private Sub listByPt() Dim di As New IO.DirectoryInfo(dir_loc) Dim aryFiles As IO.FileInfo() = di.GetFiles("*" & ext_to_check) Dim fi As IO.FileInfo Dim dso As DSOFile.OleDocumentProperties Dim sfilename As String Dim sheetInfo As Object Dim sfileCount As String Dim ifilesDone As Integer Dim errorList As New ArrayList() Dim ErrorFile As Object Dim ErrorMessage As String 'Initialize progress bar values ifilesDone = 0 sfileCount = di.GetFiles("*" & ext_to_check).Length Me.lblHighProgress.Text = sfileCount Me.lblLowProgress.Text = 0 With Me.progressMain .Maximum = di.GetFiles("*" & ext_to_check).Length .Minimum = 0 .Value = 0 End With 'Loop through all files in the search directory For Each fi In aryFiles dso = New DSOFile.OleDocumentProperties sfilename = fi.FullName Try dso.Open(sfilename, True) 'grab the PT Initials off of the logsheet Catch excep As Runtime.InteropServices.COMException errorList.Add(sfilename) End Try Try sheetInfo = dso.CustomProperties("PTNameChecker").Value Catch ex As Runtime.InteropServices.COMException sheetInfo = "NONE" End Try 'Check to see if the initials on the log sheet 'match those we are searching for If sheetInfo = lstInitials.SelectedValue Then Dim logsheet As New LogSheet logsheet.PTInitials = sheetInfo logsheet.FileName = sfilename PTFiles.Add(logsheet) End If 'update progress bar Me.progressMain.Increment(1) ifilesDone = ifilesDone + 1 lblLowProgress.Text = ifilesDone dso.Close() Next lstResults.Items.Clear() 'loop through results in the PTFiles list 'add results to the listbox, removing the path info For Each showsheet As LogSheet In PTFiles lstResults.Items.Add(Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(showsheet.FileName)) Next 'build error message to display to user ErrorMessage = "" For Each ErrorFile In errorList ErrorMessage += ErrorFile & vbCrLf Next MsgBox("The following Log Sheets were unable to be checked" _ & vbCrLf & ErrorMessage) PTFiles.Clear() 'empty PTFiles for next use End Sub

It links to some images on the directory. on my localhost install they are showing but in the remote install the img tags aren't even appearing. I looked in the module's files and the path isn't hard-coded or anything so it's not to do with that. any ideas? the module is here: http://drupalmodules.com/module/on-the-web cheers andy

  • Render public html's for dynamic banners in Rails ?

    - by benoror
Hi, I would like to render specific HTML snippets for displaying banners, because each banner has a different nature (some images, some flash, etc). Every banner file is under app/public/banners/. I tried many ways, like: render :file => "/banners/somebanner.html" But it can't locate the file, because rails looks under app/views. Any Ideas ? Thanks! Missing template banners/somebanner.html in view path app/views

  • How to paste text from one app to another using Cocoa?

    - by Navi Sidhu
I have read about NSPasteBoard in the Apple documentation, and how it allows for applications to write into the PasteBoard and allow other applications to read that text and use it. Could someone tell me how to paste text from am application (that sits in the status bar) into a NSTextField that is inside a different application. What I am trying to do is something similar what Snippet and SnippetsApp do. If I am completely stupid and missed the obvious in Apple Docs, could you please point me to the right path :) Thanks!

  • Spring - PropertiesPlaceholderConfigurer not finding properties file

    - by sat
Not sure what could be wrong. I had an app that worked all along with this <context:property-placeholder location="classpath:my.properties"/> No problems finding the properties file and hooking things up. Now, I needed to encrypt some fields in the properties file. So I ended up writing the custom PropertiesPlaceholderConfigurer and tried to wire it up like this <bean class="com.mycompany.myapp.PropertiesPlaceholderConfigurer"> <property name="location" value="classpath:my.propeties"/> </bean> With this configuration, Spring complains that it cannot find the properties file. java.io.FileNotFoundException: class path resource [my.propeties] cannot be opened because it does not exist What in addition should be done? The custom placeholder configurer package com.mycompany.myapp; import org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer; import org.springframework.util.ObjectUtils; import java.util.Enumeration; import java.util.Properties; public class PropertiesPlaceholderConfigurer extends PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer{ @Override protected void convertProperties(Properties props) { Enumeration<?> propertyNames = props.propertyNames(); while (propertyNames.hasMoreElements()) { String propertyName = (String) propertyNames.nextElement(); String propertyValue = props.getProperty(propertyName); if(propertyName.endsWith("encrypted")){ System.out.println("Decrypting the property " + propertyName); String convertedValue = decrypt(propertyValue); System.out.println("Decrypted the property value to " + convertedValue); if (!ObjectUtils.nullSafeEquals(propertyValue, convertedValue)) { props.setProperty(propertyName, convertedValue); } } } } } Update: Forget my custom placeholder configurer, even the spring provided one has trouble if I replace with this <bean class="org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer"> <property name="location" value="classpath:my.propeties"/> </bean> What is context:property-placholder doing that the bean definition can't? • Cocoa @sum array operator too slow - alternatives?

    - by icodestuff
I've got a text field value bound to a key path that uses @sum. When the array controller is filtered, the text field updates properly, but extremely slowly, lagging the UI or outright beachballing after every key press (less so as the number of items in arrangedObjects decreases). There is no lag if I don't use @sum; I've narrowed it down to this. Is there a faster way to do the same thing?

We have our own fonts for our application. We are using Windows Vista operating system to develop the Reports using iReport. We are using iReports 3.7.1. I kept all my fonts in a folder in C:\ drive. I gave fonts path in iReport. Still I am getting 'Could not load the font' error while generating the report. The same worked fine on Windows 2000 and with iReport 2.x versions.

  • Spawn a multi-threaded Java program from a Windows command line program, spawner won't end until spa

    - by Ross Patterson
Short version: How can I prevent a spawned Java process in Windows from blocking the spawning process from ending? Long version: I'm trying to spawn a multi-threaded Java program (Selenium RC, not that it should matter) from a program launched from the Windows command line (NAnt's <exec> task, again, not that it should matter). I'm doing it using the Windows "start" command, and the spawned process is started and runs correctly. The spawning process receives control back and finishes (NAnt says "BUILD SUCCEEDED"), but doesn't actually exit to the command line. When the spawned process finally terminates (could be hours later), the command process returns and the command line prompt occurs. For example: <target name="start_rc"> <exec program="cmd" failonerror="false" workingdir="${ross.p5.dir}\Tools\selenium\selenium-server-1.0.1" verbose="true"> <arg value="/C"/> <arg value="start"/> <arg value="java"/> <arg value="-jar"/> <arg path="${ross.p5.dir}\Tools\selenium\selenium-server-1.0.1\selenium-server.jar"/> <arg value="-userExtensions"/> <arg path="${ross.p5.dir}\Tools\selenium\selenium-server-1.0.1\user-extensions.js"/> <arg value="-browserSideLog"/> <arg value="-log"/> <arg value="${ross.p5.dir}\artifacts\selenium.log"/> <arg value="-debug"/> </exec> </target> Produces: C :\Ross>nant start_rc NAnt 0.86 (Build 0.86.2898.0; beta1; 12/8/2007) Copyright (C) 2001-2007 Gerry Shaw http://nant.sourceforge.net Buildfile: file:///C:/Ross/ross.build Target framework: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Target(s) specified: start_rc start_rc: [exec] Starting 'cmd (/C start java -jar C:\p5\Tools\selenium\selenium-server-1.0.1\selenium-server.jar -userExtensions C:\p5\Tools\selenium\selenium-server-1.0.1\user-extensions.js -browserSideLog -log C:\p5\artifacts\selenium.log -debug)' in 'C:\p5\Tools\selenium\selenium-server-1.0.1' BUILD SUCCEEDED Total time: 4.1 seconds. ... and then nothing until I close the window where Java is running, then ... C:\Ross> Obviously something is preventing the nant process from terminating, but shouldn't the Windows START command prevent that?
