• Parameterise Service start option in WiX installer

  I have a ServiceInstall component in a WiX installer where I have a requirement to either start auto or demand depending on parameters passed into the MSI. So the Xml element in question is <ServiceInstall Vital="yes" Name="My Windows Service" Type="ownProcess" Account="[SERVICEUSERDOMAIN]\[SERVICEUSERNAME]" DisplayName="My Service" Password="[SERVICEUSERPASSWORD]" Start="demand" Interactive="no" Description="Something interesting here" Id="Service" ErrorControl="ignore"></ServiceInstall> WiX will not allow using a PArameter for the Start attribute, so Im stuck with completely suplicating the component with a condition, eg/ <Component Id="ServiceDemand" Guid="{E204A71D-B0EB-4af0-96DB-9823605050C7}" > <Condition>SERVICESTART="demand"</Condition> ... and completely duplicating the whole component, with a different setting for Start and a different Condition. Anyone know of a more elegant solution? One where I don;t have to maintain 2 COmponents whjich do exactly the same thing except the Attribute for Start?

• Ambiguous Evaluation of Lambda Expression on Array

  I would like to use a lambda that adds one to x if x is equal to zero. I have tried the following expressions: t = map(lambda x: x+1 if x==0 else x, numpy.array) t = map(lambda x: x==0 and x+1 or x, numpy.array) t = numpy.apply_along_axis(lambda x: x+1 if x==0 else x, 0, numpy.array) Each of these expressions returns the following error: ValueError: The truth value of an array with more than one element is ambiguous. Use a.any() or a.all() My understanding of map() and numpy.apply_along_axis() was that it would take some function and apply it to each value of an array. From the error it seems that the the lambda is being evaluated as x=array, not some value in array. What am I doing wrong? I know that I could write a function to accomplish this but I want to become more familiar with the functional programming aspects of python.

One way is to run count then separately and other way is dynamic array (List Array) Is there any other better way to do this? • Have I checked every consecutive subset of this list?

  I'm trying to solve problem 50 on Project Euler. Don't give me the answer or solve it for me, just try to answer this specific question. The goal is to find the longest sum of consecutive primes that adds to a prime below one million. I use wrote a sieve to find all the primes below n, and I have confirmed that it is correct. Next, I am going to check the sum of each subset of consecutive primes using the following method: I have a empty list sums. For each prime number, I add it to each element in sums and check the new sum, then I append the prime to sums. Here it is in python primes = allPrimesBelow(1000000) sums = [] for p in primes: for i in range(len(sums)): sums[i] += p check(sums[i]) sums.append(p) I want to know if I have called check() for every sum of two or more consecutive primes below one million The problem says that there is a prime, 953, that can be written as the sum of 21 consecutive primes, but I am not finding it.

• Separating an Array into a comma seperated string with quotes

  I'm manually building an SQL query where I'm using an Array in the params hash for an SQL IN statement, like: ("WHERE my_field IN('blue','green','red')"). So I need to take the contents of the array and output them into a string where each element is single quoted and comma seperated (and with no ending comma). So if the array was: my_array = ['blue','green','red'] I'd need a string that looked like: "'blue','green','red'" I'm pretty new to Ruby/Rails but came up with something that worked: if !params[:colors].nil? @categories_array = params[:colors][:categories] @categories_string ="" for x in @categories_array @categories_string += "'" + x + "'," end @categories_string.chop! #remove the last comma end So, I'm good but curious as to what a proper and more consise way of doing this would look like?   Hello I've a doubt. Lets consider that we have a div of width 200px. If i add the following the style style="padding-left:10px; padding-right:10px" to the element what happens actually? Will the total width of the div increases to 220px with 10px at the left (for left padding), original width 200px at the middle and 10px at the right (for right padding)? Or will it takes the padding space from the 200px and becomes (10px + 180px + 10px)? Does the above rendering differs for each browser (especially IE and FF)? Thank you NLV

So, why is the Twitter Bootstrap "fixed" layout NOT fixed? and how can I make it fixed?

  I am working through a book about Javascript and have encountered the following example of code designed to replace the value of the class attribute of a table header HTML element: th.className = th.className.replace(/asc/,"dsc"); th.className = th.className.replace(/dsc/,"asc"); Why is the first parameter of .replace, the current value of th.className, enclosed in forward slashes instead of quotation marks? Why not use quotation marks to enclose both parameters, not just the second one? Thank you in advance for any help given.   Greetings, Because textarea elements do not resize with jquery.touch ( http://plugins.jquery.com/project/touch ), I've put an textarea in a table where the first row allows the user to drag the table around and resize it with the textarea growing/shrinking/moving along. It works well, except that users dont seem to 'get' that they can use the bar to resize/move. I was trying to find some 'grip bar' graphics but google isnt helping me. What is the best way to show users that an element can be moved/resized ? Pointer to graphics ( generators ) would be great. Or, does any one know how to make textarea's movable/resizable ? T.

  Hi, Is there a way in flex 3 chart component to display both the date and time using horizontal DateTimeAxis? Currently the DateTimeAxis element has an attribute dataunits which allows to set the value to any of "milliseconds|seconds|minutes|hours|days|weeks|months|years" but I want to display the label as "2009/09/15 06:00:00" which includes the day and the time too. • Opening IProject properties when another (adaptable to IProject) object is selected

  I have a custom view displaying a hierarchy model of the current project. The root element is of class MyProject which is my own class, but it represents one Eclipse IProject, and it's adaptable to IProject. I have a "properties" menu option in the popup menu for that view, and I'd like to open up IProject's properties when a MyProject object is selected. PropertyDialogAction only looks for property pages registered for MyProject and doesn't give me a chance to offer an adapter -- or, at least, I don't know how to offer one. What's the proper solution for this? In the meantime, I've overridden PropertyDialogAction to handle my class in the special way I require, but that seems like quite a kludge to get this done.

• How can I access the copy buffer on the web?

  Wild question here. Is it possible to access the copy buffer on the web. What I mean is. Can I go into Photoshop. Select a piece of a photo. Copy that piece and paste it into some element. That something would be like a Java applet or Flash or Silverlight or anything. I am just wondering if it is possible and if someone could point me in a direction. Since a few google searches have only found where you can copy files and paste via a Java applet.

I would like to have more than one event serve as a trigger; that is, I would like either a click event or a contextmenu event to turn a span into an in-place edit area. Is there a graceful way to do this without forking Jeditable? --edit-- An example of code specifying the event is below. • Incremental Compilation in Eclipse. ASTNode-s and SVN versioning

  Hi there, I am building up some statistics after analyzing the source code in eclipse. But the overall process is too slow because i rebuild my model every time from scratch after each compilation. I am looking for a way to get only the changed parts of the code (as ASTNodes) and to rebuild just that part of my model. I suppose that even the changed compilation units and not the exact code elements would be enough after the user compiles and still would be a nice optimization. I am sure eclipse is capable of knowing what code elements are changed (and even to know their semantics), because when I use the subclipse plugin my changes are ordered by a code element (an import, a method, a variable declaration, etc). Well.. at least that plugin is capable of knowing that info. Thanks in advance

• Best canvas for drawing in wxPython?

  I have to draw a graph of elements composing a topological model of a physical network. There would be nodes and arches, and the latter could be unidirectional or bidirectional. I would like to capture the clicking events for the nodes and the arches (to select the element and show its properties somewhere), and the dragging events for the nodes (to move them around) and arches (to connect or disconnect elements). I've done some research and I've narrowed the alternatives down to OGL (Object Graphics Library) and FloatCanvas. I would not like to go down to the DrawingContext, but it is not discarded if necessary. Which canvas option would you choose?

• JqueryUI serialize data not working on first record

  I am using jqueryUI v1.8. I have created a modal dialog form to edit records of a table. When the edit link on the record is clicked the record data is displayed on the form and the user edits the record. When the user submits this form the data is serialized and posted via ajax to update the database. This works well with all records except the first one. Nothing is posted to server for update only for the first record. alert(serializeddata); is empty. Similarly, The first form element in every record chosen for editing does not show the actual value the first time. Once you cancel editing and close the dialog and reopen you can see the fields accurate data. How do I resolve this?

• Arranging image thumbnails

  I am using JQuery hover zoom (http://jmar.github.com/jquery-hoverZoom/) Its working fine. The thumbnails that I have is of different sizes . So I stated using the masonry plugin for arranging it. Both of them work fine when isolated but collectively the masonry plugin doesn't work as intended. Pictures start to overlap each other. What I feel is that both Masonry and the JQuery hover zoom , interact with the same div element which causes the problem, Both are adding their attributes to it. How can I fix this ? Is there some way that I arrange the rows without the masonry? So that the conflict wont occur ?
