Hi all. Please be gentle, I'm still learning. I imagine that the solution to my problem is simple and that perhaps I have just been in front of the computer too long.
I am trying to detect the size of the viewport, and then use a different sized image for a background on an element depending on the size of the viewport.
Here is what I have so far:
$(document).ready(function(){
var pageWidth = $(window).width();
if ( pageWidth <= 1280 ) {
$('#contact').css('background-image', 'url(../images/contact_us_low.jpg)');
}
elseif ( pageWidth > 1280 ) {
$('#contact').css('background-image', 'url(../images/contact_us_high.jpg)');
}
});
Error:
missing ; before statement
[Break on this error] elseif ( pageWidth 1280 ) {\n (Line 7)
To me it seems like all of my semi-colons are in the right place. Two questions:
Am I going about solving the problem in a sensible way? To me a simple conditional should solve this background problem, as the code is merely selecting between two images based on what size it detects the viewport to be.
Can you please help point out my n00b syntax error? Sometimes it really does help to have an extra pair of eyes look at something like this, even if small.
Thank you kindly for your advice, I will continue poking and perusing the docs I have available to me.
I have an array consisting of several objects containing Strings. I am successfully able to display the array by using:
<td><p onclick="theMiddle(this)">The Middle</td>
As you see from the td tag this is part of a table. Issue is that the browser opens up a new page to display my text. I have been trying to display the array above my table in a p tag.
//JavaScript
var arrayTheMiddle = new Array (showName.theMiddle, beginingTime.theMiddle,
network.abc, duration.thirty, rating.general, description.theMiddle, showImage.theMiddle);
function theMiddle(obj){
for(i=0; i < arrayTheMiddle.length; i++)
{
document.write(arrayTheMiddle[i] + "<br>");
}
}
//HTML File
<p>Would like the array/function displayed here while the user clicks within the table below (entire table has not been listed)</p>
<td><p onclick="theMiddle(this)">The Middle</td>
Unfortunately I am constantly failing at utilizing get element by id to call my function which consists of an array. I have searched for all sorts of stuff, yet frankly I'm lost. Not even sure if my approach is correct at this point. I'm sure this is one of those simple things that are blowing over my head!
I have a single MYSQL Question and need help ASAP.
Database:
Email | Name | Tag
[email protected] |Test Person | TagOne
[email protected] |Test Person | Tag Two
Need an SQL query that will return
Email | Name | Tag
[email protected] |Test Person | TagOne, Tag Two
Any help?
Here is the code:
<style type="text/css">
html, body {font:0.9em/1.2em arial, verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;}
#todayOn {background-color:#efefef; repeat-x top left;border-bottom:1px solid #ddd;border-top:1px solid #ddd;height:52px;margin:15px 0;}
#todayOn #pageTitle {float:left;padding-left:3px;}
#todayOn #pageTitle h2 {color:#feb425;font-size:32px;margin:10px 0 0 0;padding:0;}
#todayOn #pageTitle h2 em {color:#7498c0;display:block;font-size:14px;font-style:italic;font-weight:normal;line-height:20px;padding:5px 0 0 0;}
</style>
<div id="todayOn">
<div id="pageTitle">
<h2>TODAY <em>on this page.com</em></h2>
</div>
</div>
In Firefox, IE (6+), Opera, etc. the subheader "on this page.com" displays vertically how I want it to.
In Webkit browsers like Chrome and Safari, it's pushed down a couple more pixels. What's the prob? Thanks.
I am generating a table dynamically using Django.
The same table template is used to generate a variety of tables depending on the data supplied. In one scenario a particular column contains image tags.
Since my table is editable (using jquery) the image cell also becomes editable and removes my content.
I want some special behavior on double click of such cells like say upload an image. How do I accomplish this with a jquery?
My script for making the table editable is given below.
$(function() {
$("td").dblclick(function() {
var OriginalContent = $(this).text();
$(this).addClass("cellEditing");
$(this).html("<input type='text' value='" + OriginalContent + "' />");
$(this).children().first().focus();
$(this).children().first().keypress(function(e) {
if (e.which == 13) {
var newContent = $(this).val();
$(this).parent().text(newContent);
$(this).parent().removeClass("cellEditing");
}
});
$(this).children().first().blur(function() {
$(this).parent().text(OriginalContent);
$(this).parent().removeClass("cellEditing");
});
});
});
I have this code on javascript side:
function changeSelectionStyle(id) {
if(document.getElementById(id).className != 'yes'){
document.getElementById(id).className = 'yes';
}
else{document.getElementById(id).className = '';}
}
And this on html:
<ul>
<li id="selectedAuthorities-4_1li" class="">
<input type="checkbox" id="selectedAuthorities-4_1" name="selectedAuthorities" value="ROLE_ADD_COMMENT_TO_CV" checked="checked" onload="changeSelectionStyle(this.id + 'li');" onclick="changeSelectionStyle(this.id + 'li'); checkFatherSelection(this.id);">
<a href="#" onclick="document.getElementById('selectedAuthorities-4_1').click(); return false;"> Agregar comentario <samp><b></b>Permite agregar comentario en el detalle.</samp>
</a>
</li>
</ul>
Well what I cant get work is when the checkbox is selected, on load, the JS should check it, and assign class="yes" to the li, here: <li id="selectedAuthorities-4_1li" class="">
Any suggestions? Thank you
I have the following tables/columns:
Parent:
ParentID
Child:
ChildID
ParentID
SubChild:
SubChildID
ChildID
Date
Parent has 1 to Many relationship with Child
Child has 1 to Many relationship with SubChild
For every Parent, I need to get the SubChild with the most recent Date value.
How can I do this using SQL. I've tried using MAX(Date),
but I can't seem to figure out how to join Parent and Child successfully.
The ideal result set would contain all the Parents joined with all the SubChild columns of the latest record.
Note: using MS SQL 2005+
Given a $files array I am trying to generate a list, like this:
<ul class="">
<?
for($i=0;$i < count($files); $i++) {
$text = str_replace("http://domain.com/files/uploads/", "", $files[$i]);
$file = $files[$i];
$notme = sesion()>0 && $obj['id'] != sesion();
?>
<li> <a target="_blank" href="<?=$file?>"><?=$text?></a>
<? if($notme){ ?>
<span class="add_to_files" data-file="<?=$file?>">Agregar al gestor</span>
<? } ?>
</li>
<?
}
?> </ul>
This is the output: Please note how the span html is wrong,
<ul class="">
<li> <a href="http://domain.com/files/uploads/388400967232883.jpg" target="_blank">388400967232883.jpg</a>
<span target="_blank" href="http://domain.com/files/uploads/388400967232883.jpg" url"="" data-file="<a class=" class="add_to_files">http://domain.com/files/uploads/388400967232883.jpg">Agregar al gestor</span>
</li>
</ul>
Any idea why?
hello, i have following function:
function delete_auswahl()
{
var anzahl =document.getElementById ("warenkorbfeld").length ;
for (var i =0; i<=anzahl; i++)
{
if (document.getElementById ("warenkorbfeld").options[i].selected==true)
{
if (document.getElementById ("warenkorbfeld").options[i].id == "Margherita" )
gesamtbetrag = gesamtbetrag - 4;
if (document.getElementById ("warenkorbfeld").options[i].id=="Salami" )
gesamtbetrag = gesamtbetrag - 4.50;
if (document.getElementById ("warenkorbfeld").options[i].id=="Hawaii" )
gesamtbetrag = gesamtbetrag - 5.50;
document.getElementById ("warenkorbfeld").options[i]=null;
i--;// auf der gleichen stelle bleiben, da dass nächste feld nachrückt
}
}
document.getElementById('gesamtbetrag').innerHTML=gesamtbetrag ;
}
before i added values with
function hinzu (pizza)
{
NeuerEintrag = new Option(pizza, pizza, false, false);
document.getElementById("warenkorbfeld").options[document.getElementById("warenkorbfeld").length] = NeuerEintrag ;
if (pizza=="Margherita")
{
gesamtbetrag = gesamtbetrag + 4;
}
if (pizza=="Salami")
{
gesamtbetrag = gesamtbetrag + 4.50;
}
if (pizza=="Hawaii")
{
gesamtbetrag = gesamtbetrag + 5.50;
}
document.getElementById('gesamtbetrag').innerHTML=gesamtbetrag ;
}
now, in the delete function doesn't substract the price.
despite this, all works.
what's wrong with this term?
if (document.getElementById ("warenkorbfeld").options[i].id == "Margherita" )
gesamtbetrag = gesamtbetrag - 4;
thanks in advance
How can I query a table which has a column of data type HIERARCHYID and get a list of descendants X levels deep under an employee?
Here is the current structure:
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Employees](
[NodeId] [hierarchyid] NOT NULL,
[EmployeeId] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
[FirstName] [varchar](120) NULL,
[MiddleInitial] [varchar](1) NULL,
[LastName] [varchar](120) NULL,
[DepartmentId] [int] NULL,
[Title] [varchar](120) NULL,
[PhoneNumber] [varchar](20) NULL,
[IM] [varchar](120) NULL,
[Photo] [varbinary](max) NULL,
[Bio] [varchar](400) NULL,
[Active] [bit] NULL,
[ManagerId] [int] NULL
)
Below is my example script:
<li><a <?php if ($_GET['page']=='photos' && $_GET['view']!=="projects"||!=="forsale") { echo ("href=\"#\" class=\"active\""); } else { echo ("href=\"/?page=photos\""); } ?>>Photos</a></li>
<li><a <?php if ($_GET['view']=='projects') { echo ("href=\"#\" class=\"active\""); } else { echo ("href=\"/?page=photos&view=projects\""); } ?>>Projects</a></li>
<li><a <?php if ($_GET['view']=='forsale') { echo ("href=\"#\" class=\"active\""); } else { echo ("href=\"/?page=photos&view=forsale\""); } ?>>For Sale</a></li>
I want the PHP to echo the "href="#" class="active" only when it is not on the two pages:
?page=photos&view=forsale
or
?page=photos&view=projects
Our solution is built using Release|x86; however, when our designers try to build using Blend they are forced to use Any CPU which we don't want to to add since it's going to change the behavior. I checked version 4, and it does not seem to address this issue.
Is there a way to specify Solution Configuration/Platform when using Blend? Any workarounds?
I'm having trouble getting a response from my php jquery / json / ajax. I keep combining all these different tutorials together but I still can't seem to pull it all together since no one tutorial follow what I'm trying to do.
Right now I'm trying to pass two arrays (since there's no easy way to pass associative arrays) to my jquery ajax function and just alert it out. Here's my code:
PHP
$names = array('john doe', 'jane doe');
$ids = array('123', '223');
$data['names'] = $names;
$data['ids'] = $ids;
echo json_encode($data);
Jquery
function getList(){
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: 'test.php',
data: "",
complete: function(data){
var test = jQuery.parseJSON(data);
alert(test.names[0]);
alert("here");
}
},
"json");
}
getList();
In my html file all I'm really calling is my javascript file for debugging purposes. I know i'm returning an object but I'm getting an error with null values in my names section, and i'm not sure why. What am I missing?
My PHP file returns
{"names":["john doe","jane doe"],"ids":["123","223"]}
It seems to be just ending here
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property '0' of undefined
so my sub0 is killing me.
I have a div which has a table which has a google map.
I want to place a info box within the google map external to the map, just floating on top
But I can't seem to get it right, the info div just pushes around the google map despite being on top of the map...
CSS
.google_map {
height: 270px;
width: 100%;
}
#flightMapInfo {
position: relative;
float: left;
z-index: 100;
color: #FFFFFF;
top: 30px;
left: 50px;
background:#5a85a5;
padding: 5px;
-moz-border-radius: 10px;
-webkit-border-radius: 10px;
}
div.tabContent {
border: 1px solid #c9c3ba;
padding: 0.5em;
background-color: #f1f0ee;
min-height: 300px;
}
.tableLeft {
width: 75%;
float: left;
border-right: dotted 2px black;
}
HTML
<div class="mapBlock tabContent">
<div id="flightMapInfo">WHARGL</div>
<table class="tableLeft">
<tr><td><div id="flightMap" class="google_map"></div>
</table></td></tr></div>
Chrome is wrongly reporting width and height values for images during, or just after, load time. Jquery is used in this code example:
<img id='image01' alt='picture that is 145x134' src='/images/picture.jpg' />
<script>
var img = $( 'img#image01' )
img.width() // would return 145 in Firefox and 0 in Chrome.
img.height() // would return 134 in Firefox and 0 in Chrome.
</script>
If you put the script in a onload function, the result is the same. but if you run the code a few seconds after the page has loaded, chrome returns the correct result.
<script>
function example () {
var img = $( 'img#image01' );
img.width() // returns 145 in both Firefox and Chrome.
img.height() // returns 134 in both Firefox and Chrome.
}
window.setTimeout( example, 1000 )
</script>
Also if you specify the width and height values in the img tag, the script seems to work as expected in both Firefox and Chrome.
<img id='image01' src='/images/picture.jpg' width=145 height=134 />
But as you cannot always control the html input, this is not an ideal workaround. Can jQuery be patched with a better workaround for this problem? or will I need to specify the width and height for every image in my code?
Im trying to create a simple FAQ drop down but for some reason it is not working. Would you mind taking a look?
Thanks guys!
CSS
#faqs h3 { cursor:pointer; }
#faqs h3.active { color:#d74646; }
#faqs div { height:0; overflow:hidden; position:relative; }
#faqs div p { padding:0; margin-bottom:15px; }
JavaScript:
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#faqs h3').each(function() {
var tis = $(this),
state = false,
answer = tis.next('div')
.hide()
.css('height','auto')
.slideUp();
tis.click(function() {
state = !state;
answer.slideToggle(state);
tis.toggleClass('active',state);
});
});
});
HTML
<div id="faqs">
<h3>This is question 1?</h3>
<div>
<p>This is the answer to question #1.</p>
</div>
<h3>This is question 2?</h3>
<div>
<p>This is the answer to question #2.</p>
</div>
</div>
I had a table (Some_Table) with two columns:
A B
-------------------
1 test
2 test
3 test1
4 test1
i would like to return DISTINCT values for column B and it's associated value in column A (first in distinct set), so something like this:
A B
-----------
1 test
3 test1
What is the sql?
Say I have an unordered list like so:
<ul>
<li>Some Text</li>
<li>Some Text</li>
<li>Some Text</li>
<li>Some Text</li>
</ul>
I want to use jquery so that when I click a "li", the background changes to blue. So I do this:
$('li').click(function() {
$(this).addClass('active');
});
And the "active" class has as background of blue. However, I can't figure out how to make it so that when I click another "li", the other "li" that has a background of blue stops having a background of blue. I guess what I'm trying to say is how to make only one "li" have a background of blue at a time--using jquery.
Under
(BOOL)peoplePickerNavigationController:(ABPeoplePickerNavigationController *)
peoplePicker
shouldContinueAfterSelectingPerson:(ABRecordRef)person
property:(ABPropertyID)property
identifier:(ABMultiValueIdentifier)identifier{}
is it possible to get returned the phone number or somewhat the user has clicked?
I'm currently learning Icefaces, now I'm trying to integrate a css file via h:OutputStylesheet into my code.
I have a main page and a second page. Using outputStylesheet in my main page works well (and then I can also access the css in the second page, which I guess is intended).
But when I try to integrate it in my second page it doesn't work at all.
The code for both pages is basically identical.
main page:
<h:head></h:head>
<h:body>
<!-- this line works -->
<h:outputStylesheet library="css" name="style.css" />
<!-- this line is only shown in red if the outputStylesheet
from above is there -->
<div class="red">This is red color in main page</div>
</h:body>
second page:
<h:head></h:head>
<h:body>
<!-- this line doesn't work -->
<h:outputStylesheet library="css" name="style.css" />
<!-- this line is only shown in red if the outputStylesheet
in main page is there -->
<div class="red">This is red color in second page</div>
</h:body>
I've made sure that I have h:body and h:head tags in both files. There's nothing more in the html pages except the standard doctype and xml version declarations. I've tried packing everything into h:forms, but that doesn't change anything.
Can anyone explain to me what's going on?
Two tables
1) product
--------------------
id | Name | price
1 | p1 | 10
2 | p2 | 20
3 | p3 | 30
2) product_attributes:
---------------------------------------------------
id | product_id | attribute_name | attribute_value
---------------------------------------------------
1 | 1 | size | 10
2 | 1 | colour | red
3 | 2 | size | 20
I need to join these two tables. In the where clause I need to match both the
two rows attribute values. Is it possible to get the result based on two rows
value. Here if size=10 and colour=red.
Output should be
1 | p1 | 10
It could be greatly helpful to get a query for this.
Take the following file...
ABCD,1234,http://example.com/mpe.exthttp://example/xyz.ext
EFGH,5678,http://example.com/wer.exthttp://example/ljn.ext
Note that "ext" is a constant file extension throughout the file.
I am looking for an expression to turn that file into something like this...
ABCD,1234,http://example.com/mpe.ext
ABCD,1234,http://example/xyz.ext
EFGH,5678,http://example.com/wer.ext
EFGH,5678,http://example/ljn.ext
In a nutshell I need to capture everything up to the urls. Then I need to capture each URL and put them on their own line with the leading capture.
I am working with sed to do this and I cannot figure out how to make it work correctly. Any ideas?
I am using jquery to sort through multiple paragraphs. Currently I have it set to show only paragraphs that start with a current letter. But now, I would like to consolidate further. If the text between the paragraph tags has multiple instances, I would like all but the first hidden.
This is what I have so far but, it is not working.
var letter = '<?php echo(strlen($_GET['letter']) == 1) ? $_GET['letter'] : ''; ?>'
function finish(){
jQuery('p').each(function(){
if(jQuery(this).text().substr(0,1).toUpperCase() == letter){
jQuery(this).addClass('current-series');
jQuery(this).html(letter + '<span class="hidden">'+jQuery(this).text().slice(1)+ '</span>');
}
else{ jQuery(this).hide();}
})
}
Update:
Sorry guys, I know this is kind of hard to explain. Here's a basic example:
The selected letter is B
The values returned are:
Ball
Ball
Ball
Boy
Brain
Bat
Bat
Each of these values is in a paragraph tag.
Is there a way to consolidate to this?
Ball
Boy
Brain
Bat
I'd like to develop a stand-alone desktop application targeting Windows (XP through 7) and Mac (Tiger through Snow Leopard), and if possible iPhone and Android. In order to make it all work with as much common code as possible (and because it's the only thing I'm good at), I'd like to handle the main logic with HTML and JS. Using Adobe AIR is a possibility. And I think I can do this with various application wrappers, using .NET for Windows XP, Objective C for iPhone, Java for Android and native "widget" platform support for Mac and Windows Vista & 7 (though I'd like to keep the widget in the foreground, so the Mac dashboard isn't ideal). Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start? The two sticking points are:
I'll certainly need some form of persistent storage (cookies perhaps) to keep state between sessions
I'll also probably need access to remote data files, so if I use AJAX and the hosting HTML file resides on the device, it will need to be able to do cross-domain requests. I've done this on the iPhone without any problems, but I'd be surprised if this were possible on other platforms.
For me, Android and iPhone will be the easiest to handle, and it looks like I can use Adobe AIR to handle the rest. But I wanted to know if there are any other alternatives. Does anyone have any suggesions?
