• Centos 6 vsftp server

  I have installed vsftpd server in my centos 6 server. I created three users.first user can access the ftp server using his system password.All the users are in chroot_list. when the second user is trying to access through ftp with his password, one error message as follows: "operation not supported " my server's selinux configuration: [henry@admin ~]$ getsebool -a | grep ftp allow_ftpd_anon_write --> off allow_ftpd_full_access --> off allow_ftpd_use_cifs --> off allow_ftpd_use_nfs --> off ftp_home_dir --> on ftpd_connect_db --> off httpd_enable_ftp_server --> off sftpd_anon_write --> off sftpd_enable_homedirs --> off sftpd_full_access --> off sftpd_write_ssh_home --> off tftp_anon_write --> off How can I troubleshoot this issue?

  Hi, Im looking for function (PHP will be the best), which returns true whether exists string matches both regexpA and regexpB. Example 1: $regexpA = '[0-9]+'; $regexpB = '[0-9]{2,3}'; hasRegularsIntersection($regexpA,$regexpB) returns TRUE because '12' matches both regexps Example 2: $regexpA = '[0-9]+'; $regexpB = '[a-z]+'; hasRegularsIntersection($regexpA,$regexpB) returns FALSE because numbers never matches literals. • Trying to connect simple VB6 ADO to SQL Server 2008

  We have a VB6 App that -for current purposes - is very basic ADO: Dim a New ADODB.Recorset, set some basic properties like Cursor Location and Lock Type, set a Connection String and a .Source like "Select * from CustomerMaster", and .OPEN - nothing fancy here! Yet, on a new SBS installation with SQL Server 2008 across 2 Servers (one for Apps, the other dedicated to SQL!), it dies/hangs/crashes if you try to run such a Query from anything but the SQL Sever box. Initially, we were using the SQLOLEDB.1 driver, which would crash/hang the entire SQL Server after about 4 such queries (built a simple 6 line App just for this purpose). Then switched to the NATIVE SQL driver, which did allow us unlimited, happy queries - until you did the first Change/Update - THEN it would corrupt the SQL Server if you exited and tried to go back in. All this 'corruption' is happening from the 'App Server' of the SBS pair, and I presume that the App Server (also installed in tandem with the SQL server this week) has the latest MDACs, etc. And running it from a 'lowly XP workstation' is (obviously) no better. ANY ideas??? -Henry

• Nimbus Tweaking Help Needed

  I was reading this new article on Synthetica and NetBeans RCP this morning, when I remembered this screenshot from Henry Arousell from Sweden: Here, Nimbus is heavily being used, highlighting 6 areas where Henry would really benefit from any help regarding how the foreground properties should be set: The color of the main menu (and its subsequent unfolded menu options) The TopComponent tab colors (as you can see from the screenshot, they've managed to change the foreground colors of the ones in the editor mode by setting the Nimbus property "TextText"). They cannot manipulate TopComponents in other modes, though. Table header foreground colors The foreground color of any provided composite component, like a JFileChooser or the ICEPdf viewer or any other panel with label components. The progress bar message color. The status bar message color, A Nimbus expert is needed to help here, though it seems to me that some of the solutions have already been identified, or are similar, in the article pointed out above.

  Hi, This question occured to me while programming a Android application, but it seems to be a general programming question more. The situation is, I am extending (subclass-ing) an class from a library, and overriding a method. how do I know if I should invoke the method of super-class? and when? (in the beginning of the overridden method or in the end?) For example, I am overriding the method "public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu)" from class "Activity" in Android platform. And I saw someone write "return super.onCreateOptionsMenu(menu)" in the end of the method, in an example. But how do I know it should be done this way? and it is correct or not? what's the difference if I begin my method with "super.onCreateOptionsMenu(menu)"? BR, Henry

• jQuery - Iframe validation - cannot get values

Now we check if it has an value - this works well with all form fields that have the class .required... but it does not work with the iframe. the iframe has a div with id #content. $('form .meet').focus(function() { $('iframe').each(function() { ** if($(this).contents().find('#content').val() == '') { ** $(this).addClass('warning'); } }) }); That means it should add the class .warning if the iframe is empty. • How do you educate your teammates without seeming condescending or superior?

  I work with three other guys; I'll call them Adam, Brian, and Chris. Adam and Brian are bright guys. Give them a problem; they will figure out a way to solve it. When it comes to OOP, though, they know very little about it and aren't particularly interested in learning. Pure procedural code is their MO. Chris, on the other hand, is an OOP guy all the way -- and a cocky, condescending one at that. He is constantly criticizing the work Adam and Brian do and talking to me as if I must share his disdain for the two of them. When I say that Adam and Brian aren't interested in learning about OOP, I suspect Chris is the primary reason. This hasn't bothered me too much for the most part, but there have been times when, looking at some code Adam or Brian wrote, it has pained me to think about how a problem could have been solved so simply using inheritance or some other OOP concept instead of the unmaintainable mess of 1,000 lines of code that ended up being written instead. And now that the company is starting a rather ambitious new project, with Adam assigned to the task of getting the core functionality in place, I fear the result. Really, I just want to help these guys out. But I know that if I come across as just another holier-than-thou developer like Chris, it's going to be massively counterproductive. I've considered: Team code reviews -- everybody reviews everybody's code. This way no one person is really in a position to look down on anyone else; besides, I know I could learn plenty from the other members on the team as well. But this would be time-consuming, and with such a small team, I have trouble picturing it gaining much traction as a team practice. Periodic e-mails to the team -- this would entail me sending out an e-mail every now and then discussing some concept that, based on my observation, at least one team member would benefit from learning about. The downside to this approach is I do think it could easily make me come across as a self-appointed expert. Keeping a blog -- I already do this, actually; but so far my blog has been more about esoteric little programming tidbits than straightforward practical advice. And anyway, I suspect it would get old pretty fast if I were constantly telling my coworkers, "Hey guys, remember to check out my new blog post!" This question doesn't need to be specifically about OOP or any particular programming paradigm or technology. I just want to know: how have you found success in teaching new concepts to your coworkers without seeming like a condescending know-it-all? It's pretty clear to me there isn't going to be a sure-fire answer, but any helpful advice (including methods that have worked as well as those that have proved ineffective or even backfired) would be greatly appreciated. If I just do an "order by name desc" for example then the the whole grouping gets ignored. So how can I order within a group.

When I next tried to use the machine, it would not return from the screensaver (blank screen), nor switch to another terminal, and I had to hard reboot it. [UPDATE] The output of smartctl is here.
