    I have got a textbox on a form with a method being called from the txPredio_Leave event. My problem is that is the user has focus on the textbox and then close the form by clicking the little X close icon in the top corner or by calling this.ActiveMdiChild.Close(); or by calling private void mnucerrarTodas_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { foreach (Form form in this.MdiChildren) { form.Close(); } } The txPredio leave execute the method.. then i need doesn't excute this method when the form is closing. i have think that one solution could be ask in leave event if form is closing private void txPredio_Leave(object sender, EventArgs e) { if(!form is closing)//pseudo code Check_Load_Predio(); } or other solution could be private void MainForm_FormClosing(object sender, FormClosingEventArgs e) { //code for cancel the txPredio_Leave event } Solution Here Doesn´t work for me.     I have a fresh install on a windows sevrer 2008 box. I can connect adium to the server from a remote machine and from the admin console/sessions I can see my session. My friend can aslo connect and I can see his session. I can send an admin message out and both of us can see it in the adium clients. We can't see each other though. I also get these logs in the warn window in the log viewer: Closing session due to incorrect hostname in stream header. Host: prjatk.com. Connection: org.jivesoftware.openfire.net.SocketConnection@1b1fd9c socket: Socket[addr=/109.109.248.82,port=56258,localport=5269] session: null prjatk.com is the server - however in the server settings on the admin screen I see the computer name as the hostname - is that the issue? If so how can I change that?

  • Problem closing MDI child window in Terminal Services/Remote Desktop Connection 7.0

    I have one user whose computer just got updated to the 7.0 Remote Desktop Connection. Concurrently, she has started having a problem closing the MDI child windows in an old FoxPro application running on the remote server. We have two different servers, both 2003, running the same application, one locally and one at a remote office. Only the remote office server is giving trouble. It works fine for me, even when logging into her TS account. No other users have complained. The other day the same user experienced an error message (path not found for a path showing a localization placeholder) starting the RDC, fixed by reboot. I suspect she may have had RDC running during the 7.0 upgrade.

    Firefox doesn't exit when I close the last tab, just by doing some customization in about:config. But now, my company has to work with some website that only works well on Internet Explorer. I currently use Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP SP3. So, how do I prevent Internet Explorer 8 from exiting when closing the last tab? I've searched for such a feature for a while but found nothing helpful. FYI I gave up with my "customization habit", now I'm trying to live with IE world, ... phew...

    I have a rails project run on the thin server(1.3.1) on a ubuntu server. I ssh to the server and start thin with command 'thin start -C config/thin.yml', following the thin.yml, port: 3000 log: log/thin.log timeout: 30 chdir: /home/byht/56platform/dev/tracker environment: production servers: 1 daemonize: true After thin starts successfully, I visit the project and it works well. Then, I close the terminal, I can also visit the pages that have been visited, but when I visit the pages that not been visited before closing ssh terminal, a "500" error appears on the page. I didn't find the error messages in the log file. I have tried start thin with nohup and sudo, but they are useless. I sign in the ubuntu server locally, then the problem disappears. But I need sign in the server to stat thin with ssh when I'm home.

Since my MO in buffer exploring is to use quick shortcuts to :bn and :bp, I want to close unneeded buffers from distracting my buffer surfing. But the pain is, issuing :bd and :bw results in closing the window as well, in case I have multiple ones open. How do I close (delete) a buffer and leave the windows intact? Solution inspired by @peth's answer :command! BW :bn|:bd# It is simple. Doesn't work well with only one buffer open (I get different behaviour depending on the way I open the files) but it isn't a big issue. :)

  • Changing dual-monitor settings without closing the laptop lid on OS X

    I have a Unibody MacBook hooked up to an external display. By default when I boot up, the system will go to dual-monitor mode. I want to use only the external display. The Apple supplied solution to this problem is to close the lid of the laptop which puts the machine into sleep mode and then move the mouse around to wake it up again. Because the machine is being woken up with the lid closed, when the displays are detected the system finds only the external. After the system is functional again, you can open the lid if you want and the laptop screen will be non-functional until you either tell the system to detect displays from the system preferences or you turn off the external display. Every time I want to use only the external display, I must reach my hand over to close the lid, wait for the machine to sleep, jigger the mouse, wait for the machine to wake up, and finally open the lid again because I don't want the machine to overheat. I feel that this is very stupid to have to do. Why is there no button or menu option that says "don't use this screen"? Is there any third-party software way to change the screen setup that does not involve physically closing the lid and playing a game of "are you sleeping" in order to switch such a simple software setting? We are in the 21st Century and honestly this is childish.

Also to elaborate it is happening as frequently as every minute.

    I'm am using JEditorPane to render basic HTML. But it renders self-closing tags incorrectly, specifically br tags, e.g. <br /> is bad but <br> is good. I would like to use String.replaceAll(regex, "<br>") to fix the HTML, where regex is a regular expression matching any self-closing br tag with case-insensitivity and zero to infinity number of spaces between the "r" and the "/" (e.g., <br/>, <BR/>, <br />, <Br     />, etc.). Thanks to any regular expression experts who can solve this!

    Something I liked in Visual Studio was that I could click an opening tag, say and it would do its best to highlight in bold the closing tag. Does anyone know if you can do that in textmate? I searched an looked but cannot find it. It gets hard to find the closing tag many DIVs deep. If TextMate won't do it, can anyone tell me an editor on Mac that will? Thank you for any help. Is there any advantage to using using (SqlConnection conn = new SqlConnection(conStr)) { using (SqlCommand command = new SqlCommand()) { // dostuff } } instead of using (SqlConnection conn = new SqlConnection(conStr)) { SqlCommand command = new SqlCommand(); // dostuff } Obviously it does matter run more than one command with the same connection, since closing an SqlDataReader is more efficient than closing and reopening a connection (calling conn.Close();conn.Open(); will also free up the connection). I see many people insist that failure to close the DataReader means leaving open connection resources around, but doesn't that only apply if you don't close the connection?

    I have a huge XML(400MB) containing products. Using a DOM parser is therefore excluded, so i tried to parse and process it using a pull parser. Below is a snippet from the each_product(&block) method where i iterate over the product list. They both are of type Nokogiri::XML::Node::ELEMENT_NODE and i am not able to find any other discriminator in the documentation. Any ideas on how to solve this issue?

I mean, I close the BufferedReader in the last line, but I do not close the InputStreamReader. Should I create a standalone InputStreamReader from the connection.getInputStream, and a BufferedReader from the standalone InputStreamReader, than close all the two readers? I think it will be better to place the closing methods in the finally block like this: InputStreamReader isr = null; BufferedReader br = null; try{ URLConnection connection = new URL("www.example.com").openConnection(); isr = new InputStreamReader(connection.getInputStream()); br = new BufferedReader(isr); String response = br.readLine(); }catch (Exception e) { //exception handling }finally{ br.close(); isr.close(); } But it is ugly, because the closing methods can throw exception, so I have to handle or throw it. Which solution is better? Or what would be the best solution?

My question is not about the importance/correctness of closing tags, or about which type of code is more readable than another, but rather about how the document gets parsed/executed and what impact it might have on performance.   • SharePoint Item Edit Form (editform.aspx) keeps closing webparts - MOSS 2007

    We have a custom list within MOSS 2007 which sporadically closes the edit forms web part, despite the fact that the web parts property 'allow close' is unticked. The only way to make the form work again is to edit the page in SharePoint Designer and untick the option of 'web part closed', this then allows the form to function but at a seemingly random interval it will close itself again. There is quite a large user base accessing the site/list at anyone time, also note this has happened once on another list on another site collection. Has anyone else experienced this issue before or can offer any advice?

  • Windows Live Family Safety Service keeps closing Start Menu

    Got my kids a new Toshiba Laptop for Christmas. I was setting it all up for them so it would be ready to go. Tonight I installed Windows Live Family Safety Parental Controls. In the process of testing I discovered that on all the accounts the Start Menu closes automatically within 3 seconds (or less) of opening. It seems that it happens every 3 seconds, so sometimes it is immediate, and if I open it again then it will stay open for a full 3 seconds. This of course is rather annoying, and I need to wrap it up so it is ready to go under the tree. I disabled the Windows Live Family Safety Service, and that fixed it. Enable it again and the behavior returns. Is this a feature of the service? Can I disable that feature and keep the other features?

  • SSH session closing whilst virtualenv session stays open (I think)

    I've been developing some sites using Flask recently (running on debian within a virtualenv), and when I am testing I can run it on a port, let's say post 5000. So I run the script like so: . env/bin/activate <- go into virtual environment python file.py <- run python script And I will be given this message: Running on http://0.0.0.0:5000/ So this all works great and I can access my site on this port fine. However... my rubbish ISP always does this thing where it resets something around 1am every morning. I have no idea what this is, everything runs like normal but I always get disconnected from any SSH sessions open. This leaves it running and all I can do is call: lsof -i Which will show me the process but if I kill it and then rerun it things get weird. The: Running on http://0.0.0.0:5000 message still shows but I cannot connect to it anymore. I've tried changing the port number and it seems the only thing that works is trying again later on or on another day. Now I'm assuming that something on my server resets inbetween these times and I would like to think it was maybe that virtualenv session timing out, but I cannot find out how to do this manually, does anyone know?
