  • Grails: How to include an html link inside a <g:message> default attribute?

    Hi, I am starting with Grails and want to have one page with multilanguage content. I started using the tag which works fine. But here is what I want to do: I want to include the default text of the default language right in the text, to avoid switching back and forth in between files. <g:message code="homepage.feature.headline1" default="This is an english text" /> The above works. But now I a have a message which should include a link like this: <g:message code="homepage.feature.headline1" default="This is an english text with <a href='somefile.html'>a link</a>" /> This gives me an exception: org.codehaus.groovy.grails.web.pages.exceptions.GroovyPagesException: Error processing GroovyPageView: Grails tags were not closed! [[<g:message>]] in GSP How can I achieve that I can include a link there? I have tried escaping the < brackets but still no luck. I really would like to avoid splitting up this one sentence into multiple smaller sentences. Thanks Christoph

    My code works for ORs as I've listed it below but I want to use AND instead of OR and it fails. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong. Basically I have a Linq query that searches on multiple fields in an XML file. The search fields might not all have information. Each element runs the extension method, and tests the equality.   • XSD Schema for XML with multiple structures

    I am attempting to write an XML Schema to cover a number of XML conditions which I may encounter. I have the same root element (serviceRequest) with different child elements. I was trying to use the xs:extension element to define multiple versions, but it is complaining about unexpected element orderInclusionCriteria etc. Am I going about this the right way, or is there a better way to define this? The other way I thought about this was to have a single xs:choice with all the options inside it, but this seemed somewhat inelegant. These XSD files are for use within XMLBeans if that makes any difference.   • How to store a numeric value which can have other statuses in a database?

    I need to store a set of numbers in a database which are imported from a spreadsheet. Sometimes a number is just a number. But in other times, a value can be "missing", "N/A", or blank and these all represent different things. What would be a good approach to store these numbers in the database? Originally I only had to account for N/A. So I made it -1 as I imported them (this only works if the number can never be negative obviously). I could use other negative numbers for other statuses. However, that seems clunky to me. Should I store the numbers as string then apply conversion at use time? Should I create a matching table that stores different statuses of each value?

    I am building a slideshow and need to have a title appear for each picture that get cycled. I created alt attributes for them and am trying to have cycle display them for each image, but It only shows the first one. I am unsure how to get the code I have into the cycle "loop" for the gallery?   • How can I sort by a transformable attribute in an NSFetchedResultsController?

    I'm using NSValueTransformers to encrypt attributes (strings, dates, etc.) in my Core Data model, but I'm pretty sure it's interfering with the sorting in my NSFetchedResultsController. Does anyone know if there's a way to get around this? I suppose it depends on how the sort is performed; if it's always only performed directly on the database, then I'm probably out of luck. If it sorts on the objects themselves, then perhaps there's a way to activate the transformation before the sort occurs. I'm guessing it's directly on the database, though, since the sort would be key in grabbing subsets of the collection, which is the main benefit of NSFetchedResultsController anyway.

The return value is True if added, False on error. So with this you can add an item if it doesn't exist, and see if it previously existed by the return value. The java memcache api equivalent for this doesn't let you know if there was a previous value or not: put(key, value, expiration, MemcacheService.SetPolicy.ADD_ONLY_IF_NOT_PRESENT); MemcacheService.SetPolicy.ADD_ONLY_IF_NOT_PRESENT: add the value if no value with the key, do nothing if the key exists Is there a way to know if a previous value existed or not with the java api? I can't just check with the contains method beforehand, because in between the call to contains and the call to put, another JVM instance could modify the memcache.

    Hello, I have a jquery ui autocomplete widget in a form and I'd like to preselect its value from a database. My autocomplete works in the following way: the id is a number, tha label and the value are the same and are a concatenation of id + " - " + description. When a value from the autocomplete is selected, a hidden field's value is set to the value of id. Then, the hidden field value is saved to the db when the form is submitted. When the user comes back on the page for editing, I need to reload the value from the db: I set the idden field value again and then I would like to precompile the value of the autocomplete widget with the concatenation of id + " - " + description taken form the db. I think I should trigger the event of selecting a row in the autocomplete, but I don't know how to do. Do you have any ideas?     I am looking to access the actual value returned from the server.getRowData returns the value after unformat applied to the value. This results in loss of information.     I have a ff extension which creates a popup and shows dynamic data in it. basically when the popup opens a js function is run which then constructs the popup list by appending the items like this var myMenuPopup = document.getElementById("file-popup4"); newItem = document.createElement("menuitem"); newItem.setAttribute("label", namelist[m]); newItem.setAttribute("id", "item" + m); Now I need to have the click functionality too on these newly added menuitems. putting the atttribute and forming the function is easy. I can have a function to be run when they are clicked. But i need to pass namelist[i] to the function and it will act according to the namelist parameter.If i do: newItem.setAttribute("oncommand" , finalclick(namelist[m])); it runs the function everytime the popup opens runs the function without even clicking on it on the other hand if i use quotes i.i if i do newItem.setAttribute("oncommand" , "finalclick(namelist[m])"); it doesnot open even on clicking giving error : namelist is not defined.

    I'm working with Robert Payne's fork of PSMTabBarControl that works with IB 3.2 (thanks BTW Robert!): http://codaset.com/robertjpayne/psmtabbarcontrol/. The demo application works fine on 64-bit systems, but when I try to open the XIB file in Interface Builder on a 32-bit system I get: IBXMLDecoder: The value (4654500848) for key (myTrackingRectTag) is too large to fit into a 32 bit integer Building the app as 32 bit works, but then running it gives: PSMTabBarControlDemo[9073:80f] * -[NSKeyedUnarchiver decodeInt32ForKey:]: value (4654500848) for key (myTrackingRectTag) too large to fit in 32-bit integer Not sure if this is a generic IB issue that can occur when moving between 64 and 32 bit systems, or if this is a more specific issue with this code. Has anyone else run into this?

  • Why can't the 'NonSerialized' attribute be used at the class level? How to prevent serialization of

    I have a data object that is deep-cloned using a binary serialization. This data object supports property changed events, for example, PriceChanged. Let's say I attached a handler to PriceChanged. When the code attempts to serialize PriceChanged, it throws an exception that the handler isn't marked as serializable. My alternatives: I can't easily remove all handlers from the event before serialization I don't want to mark the handler as serializable because I'd have to recursively mark all the handlers dependencies as well. I don't want to mark PriceChanged as NonSerialized - there are tens of events like this that could potentially have handlers. Ideally, I'd like .NET to just stop going down the object graph at that point and make that a 'leaf'. So why can't I just mark the handler class as 'NonSerialized'? -- I finally worked around this problem by making the handler implement ISerializable and doing nothing in the serialize constructor/ GetDataObject method. But, the handler still is serialized, just with all its dependencies set to null - so I had to account for that as well. Is there a better way to prevent serialization of an entire class?

  • How to generate a compiler error based on an attribute being missing in C#?

    I create a number of add-ins for the Revit Structure API. Each tool has to habe a class which implements the interface IExternalCommand. In the latest version of Revit, for your tool to work you need to have two attributes on the class that implements that interface: [Regeneration(RegenerationOption.Manual)] [Transaction(TransactionMode.Automatic)] The values in brackets can change, but there must be something there. Often I am finding myself forgetting to put the attributes on, then when it comes to runtime it crashes. Is there any way in Visual Studio 2010 to add a compiler warning or error saying that if your class implements that interface it must have those 2 attributes? I have resharper if that helps. Can anyone point me into the right direction?
