• Chaining IQueryables together

  I have a RIA Services based app that is using Entity Framework on the server side (possibly not relevant). In my real app, I can do something like this. EntityQuery<Status> query = statusContext.GetStatusesQuery().Where(s => s.Description.Contains("Foo")); Where statusContext is the client side subclass of DomainContext that RIA Services was kind enough to generate for me. The end result is an EntityQuery<Status> object who's Query property is an object that implements IQueryable and represents my where clause. The WebDomainClient is able to take this EntityQuery and not just give me back all of my Statuses but also filtered with my where clause. I am trying to implement this in a mock DomainClient. This MockDomainClient accepts an IQueryably<Entity> which it returns when asked for. But what if the user makes the query and includes the ad hoc additional query? How can I merge the two together? • Connection Refused running multiple environments on Selenium Grid 1.04 via Ubuntu 9.04

  Hello, I'm writing a selenium grid test suite which is going to be run on a series of different machines. I wrote most of it on my macbook but have recently transfered it over to my work machine, which is running ubuntu 9.04. That's actually my first experience with a linux machine, so I may be missing something very simple (I have disabled the firewall though). I haven't been able to get the multienvironment thing working at all, and I've been trying and manual reviewing for a while. Any recommendations and help would be greatly, greatly appreciated!   There is a table A containing common unversioned data for entities. There are also tables B,C,D with versioned data of particular entity type. All of these tables are referencing table A. The task is to add a mapping of a property of entity's type, for example, stored in table B, which would reference table A, and specify a rule how entity should be fetch from table B based on identifier from table A. (For example, to fetch latest version of an entity). It it possible with NHibernate?

  The other day in a local .NET group I attend the following question came up: "Is it a valid interview question to ask about Linked Lists when hiring someone for a .NET development position?" Not having a computer sciense degree and being a self taught developer my response was that I did not feel it was appropriate as I in 5 years of developer with .NET had never been exposed to linked lists and did not hear any compeling reason for a use for one. However the person commented that it is a very common interview question so I decided when I left that I would do some reasearch on linked lists and see what I might be missing. I have read a number of posts on stack overflow and various google searches and decided the best way to learn about them was to write my own .NET classes to see how they worked from the inside out. What is typical behaviour when adding new records? For example if I have 4 nodes and I am currently positioned in the second node and perform Add() should it be added after or before the current node? Or should it be added to the end of the list? Some of the designs I have seen explaining things seem to expose outside of the LinkedList class the Node object. In my design you simply add, get, remove values and know nothing about any node object. Should the Head and Tail be placeholder objects that are only used to define the head/tail of the list? I require my Linked List be instantiated with a value which creates the first node of the list which is essentially the head and tail of the list. Would you change that ? What should the rules be when it comes to removing nodes. Should someone be able to remove all nodes? • use jquery to toggle disabled state with a radio button

  I want to toggle two radio buttons and select fields based on which radio button is selected. I have the jQuery working, but want to know if there is a way to make it more efficient. Seems like quite a few lines for the simple goal I am trying to achieve. Here are the requirements: when the page loads, #aircraftType should be checked and #aircraftModelSelect should be grayed out (right now, the "checked" is being ignored by Firefox). If the user clicks either #aircraftType or #aircraftModel, the opposite select field should become disabled (if #aircraftModel is checked, #aircraftTypeSelect should be disabled, and vise versa). Any help on optimizing this code is appreciated. • XSLT generating attributes if source-Element is in parameterfile

  Hi, i got an xml-file with some elements. For some of these is an aqvivalent in a parameter xml-file along with some other elements. I want to add these other elements from parm-file as parameter to output file if element-names are matching. (the Attributes should only be generated if an element "InvoiceHeader" exists in the source-xml. I wanted the foreach ($_POST as &$value) and foreach ($_GET as &$value) loops to loop through the received info from the user submission and strip/remove all malicious input. I am calling a function called clean on the input first to achieve the objective as stated above. This function will process each of the input, whether individual field values or even arrays and allow only tags and remove everything else. The rest of it is obvious. Once this happens, the new/cleaned values will be processed by the fn_register() function and based on the values returned after the validation, we get the corresponding errors or NULL values (as applicable). So here's my questions: 1. This pretty much makes me feel secure as I am forcing the user to correct malicious data and won't process the final data unless the errors are corrected. Am I correct? Does the method that I follow guarantee the speed (as I am using lots of functions and their corresponding calls)? The fields of a form differ and the minimum number of fields I may have at any given point of time in any form may be 3 and can go upto as high as 100 (or even more, I am not sure as the website is still being developed). Will having 100's of fields and their validation in the above way, reduce the speed of application (say upto half a million users are accessing the website at the same time?). What can I do to improve the speed and reduce function calls (if possible)? 3, Can I do something to improve the current ways of validation? I am holding off object oriented approach and using FILTERS in PHP for the later. So please, I request you all to suggest me way to improve/tweak the current ways and suggest me if the script is vulnerable or safe enough to be used in a Live production environment. If not, what I can do to be able to use it live? Thank you all in advance.

• ASP.NET Dynamic Data field value disappears in the browser.

Now, whenever I open a List or Details view of one of these entities, the cell phone number displays for a moment then disappears. Anyone have any ideas as to the cause of this mysterious behavior?

• Having problems creating an array from XML data in Acrobat Javascript, please help if you can

  I have a manually created array that already works example below: var PartsData = { 179: { ref:"", partNum: "201-2007-C00-00", descript: "System Monitor Card (Tracewell Only)", cage: "39764", qty: "1", SMR: "XBOZZ", UOC: "A" }}; Now this array above is is just one value in the array and it works fine. Now I want to make the array work for me in using these values. if I have the following below it will work. Where part.item(i).indent.value equals the value of the indent node, etc. newArr = { 179: { ref: part.item(i).referenceDesg.value, partNum: part.item(i).indent.value, descript: part.item(i).cage.value, cage: part.item(i).qtyPerAssy.value, qty: part.item(i).smr.value, SMR: part.item(i).uoc.value, UOC: part.item(i).blank.value}}; As soon as I try to make the 179 value, which is in the breakDownIndexNo node, dynamic by using the direct part.item(i).breakDownIndexNo.value it will not compile. Acrobat is using javascript so I'm not sure why I can not get this to parse. I have tried to create a variable out of the breakDownIndexNo node and typed it to both a String and an Integer. this will let it create the array but it will not let me output from the array. newArr[indexNum].partNum gives me "no properties" where newArr[179].partNum if I were to manually set the index number to 179 will print out the value of part.item(i).indent.value. If any of you have an idea or an answer please let me know.
