  • Why can’t GridView extract child control’s values directly?

    - by SourceC
Hello using Bind in a GridView control template enables the control to extract values from child controls in the template and pass them to the data source control. The data source control in turn performs the appropriate command for the database. For this reason, the Bind function is used inside the EditItemTemplate or InsertItemTemplate of a data-bound control. Why is Bind() needed to extract values and pass them to GridView. Why isn’t GridView able to extract child control’s values directly? thanx

  • Ignoring svn folders in WinMerge

    - by Martin
I'm trying to recursively compare two subversion working copy folders using WinMerge. Unfortunately, WinMerge displays lots of differencing files inside of the subversion control folders (.svn or _svn). Is it possible to somehow exclude the subversion folders from the comparision? Or is there another (free) diff-tool which is able to do this?

Hi, I want to develop a web application using HTML, CSS and Javascript one thing that is really annoying is that any link or button etc when clicked inside the Android browser gets highlighted with a green border. To demonstrate what I mean I have included a link to a page that contains a basic game written in CSS http://marbles2.com/app/ Is there any way that you are aware of to disable the click green border? Cheers Paul

  • Why does Celery work in Python shell, but not in my Django views? (import problem)

    - by TIMEX
I installed Celery (latest stable version.) I have a directory called /home/myuser/fable/jobs. Inside this directory, I have a file called tasks.py: from celery.decorators import task from celery.task import Task class Submitter(Task): def run(self, post, **kwargs): return "Yes, it works!!!!!!" Inside this directory, I also have a file called celeryconfig.py: BROKER_HOST = "localhost" BROKER_PORT = 5672 BROKER_USER = "abc" BROKER_PASSWORD = "xyz" BROKER_VHOST = "fablemq" CELERY_RESULT_BACKEND = "amqp" CELERY_IMPORTS = ("tasks", ) In my /etc/profile, I have these set as my PYTHONPATH: PYTHONPATH=/home/myuser/fable:/home/myuser/fable/jobs So I run my Celery worker using the console ($ celeryd --loglevel=INFO), and I try it out. I open the Python console and import the tasks. Then, I run the Submitter. >>> import fable.jobs.tasks as tasks >>> s = tasks.Submitter() >>> s.delay("abc") <AsyncResult: d70d9732-fb07-4cca-82be-d7912124a987> Everything works, as you can see in my console [2011-01-09 17:30:05,766: INFO/MainProcess] Task tasks.Submitter[d70d9732-fb07-4cca-82be-d7912124a987] succeeded in 0.0398268699646s: But when I go into my Django's views.py and run the exact 3 lines of code as above, I get this: [2011-01-09 17:25:20,298: ERROR/MainProcess] Unknown task ignored: "Task of kind 'fable.jobs.tasks.Submitter' is not registered, please make sure it's imported.": {'retries': 0, 'task': 'fable.jobs.tasks.Submitter', 'args': ('abc',), 'expires': None, 'eta': None, 'kwargs': {}, 'id': 'eb5c65b4-f352-45c6-96f1-05d3a5329d53'} Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/myuser/mysite-env/lib/python2.6/site-packages/celery/worker/listener.py", line 321, in receive_message eventer=self.event_dispatcher) File "/home/myuser/mysite-env/lib/python2.6/site-packages/celery/worker/job.py", line 299, in from_message eta=eta, expires=expires) File "/home/myuser/mysite-env/lib/python2.6/site-packages/celery/worker/job.py", line 243, in __init__ self.task = tasks[self.task_name] File "/home/myuser/mysite-env/lib/python2.6/site-packages/celery/registry.py", line 63, in __getitem__ raise self.NotRegistered(str(exc)) NotRegistered: "Task of kind 'fable.jobs.tasks.Submitter' is not registered, please make sure it's imported." • Using ASIHTTPRequest to download a file with Cocoa/MacRuby

    - by arbales
I'm still trying to get a handle on Cocoa (both in Obj-C and MacRuby), and I'd really appreciate seeing how to download a file with ASIHTTPRequest (or without it) and MacRuby. Ideally, I'd like to be able show the progress inside a progress bar too. Must use a cocoa method for downloading, since open-uri in MacRuby is borken. Thanks for your help.

  • QTableWidget: How can I get tighter lines with less vertical spacing padding?

    - by Dirk Eddelbuettel
The QTableWdiget is fabulous for simple grid displays. Changing colors, fonts, etc is straightforward. However, I did not manage to give the grid a 'tighter' look with less vertical whitespace. I see that the Qt documentation talks (eg here) about margin border padding around widgets, but when I set these I only get changes around the entire grid widget rather than inside. How can I set this (with a style sheet, or hard-coded options) directly to make the QTableWidget display tighter?

  • Naming conventions for private members of .NET types

    - by Joan Venge
Normally when I have a private field inside a class or a struct, I use camelCasing, so it would be obvious that it's indeed private when you see the name of it, but in some of my colleagues' C# code, I see that they use m_ mostly or sometimes _, like there is some sort of convention. Aren't .NET naming conventions prevent you from using underscores for member names? And when you mention the MS naming conventions or what not, they tell you it's the best way, but don't explain the reasoning behind it.

  • jQuery Datatables and ColumnFilterWidget integration issue

    - by user3520135
    I am trying to Place the ColumnFilterWidget plugin in the Header of the Datatables Table. Here are the changes i made in it : /** * Menu-based filter widgets based on distinct column values for a table. * * @class ColumnFilterWidgets * @constructor * @param {object} oDataTableSettings Settings for the target table. */ var ColumnFilterWidgets = function( oDataTableSettings ) { var me = this; var sExcludeList = ''; // me.$WidgetContainer = $( '<div class="column-filter-widgets"></div>' ); me.$WidgetContainer = $( '<tr class="head"></tr>' ); me.$MenuContainer = me.$WidgetContainer; me.$TermContainer = null; me.aoWidgets = []; me.sSeparator = ''; if ( 'oColumnFilterWidgets' in oDataTableSettings.oInit ) { if ( 'aiExclude' in oDataTableSettings.oInit.oColumnFilterWidgets ) { sExcludeList = '|' + oDataTableSettings.oInit.oColumnFilterWidgets.aiExclude.join( '|' ) + '|'; } if ( 'bGroupTerms' in oDataTableSettings.oInit.oColumnFilterWidgets && oDataTableSettings.oInit.oColumnFilterWidgets.bGroupTerms ) { me.$MenuContainer = $( '<div class="column-filter-widget-menus"></div>' ); me.$TermContainer = $( '<div class="column-filter-widget-selected-terms"></div>' ).hide(); } } // Add a widget for each visible and filtered column $.each( oDataTableSettings.aoColumns, function ( i, oColumn ) { var $columnTh = $( oColumn.nTh ); var $WidgetElem = $( '<th><div class="column-filter-widget"></div></th>' ); if ( oColumn.bVisible && sExcludeList.indexOf( '|' + i + '|' ) < 0 ) { me.aoWidgets.push( new ColumnFilterWidget( $WidgetElem, oDataTableSettings, i, me ) ); } me.$MenuContainer.append( $WidgetElem ); } ); if ( me.$TermContainer ) { me.$WidgetContainer.append( me.$MenuContainer ); me.$WidgetContainer.append( me.$TermContainer ); } oDataTableSettings.aoDrawCallback.push( { name: 'ColumnFilterWidgets', fn: function() { $.each( me.aoWidgets, function( i, oWidget ) { oWidget.fnDraw(); } ); } } ); return me; }; I added a extra <tr class='head'> inside the Datatable, and later on i am trying to append the Filters to that with attached to them,But instead of that it is creating new TR tag and then appending the filters in it. I even changed my dom of data tables to : dom: '<"clear">Cf<"clear">ltWrip', So the table elements should be there so that it can insert filters inside the head.

  • How do I add older versions of code into a Subversion repository as tagged versions

    - by TheoJones
When we finally started using source control, old versions of code were added into the SVN in their own discrete folders, so I ended up with root \libv4 \libv4.2 \lib4.3 \lib5 What I would like to get to is having these older versions of the code as tagged versions inside the repository, like this: root \lib \tags \v4 \v4.2 \v4.3 \v5.0 \trunk how would I go about doing this? I'm using Tortoise SVN on the client side, and visualSVN server at the back.

  • Flex Repeater: Delay repeater until rest of view has loaded

    - by ChrisInCambo
Hi, I have a flex repeater for an accordion inside a TitleWindow that is quite slow, I've already set recycleChildren to true, which has helped, but it's still slow on the first load and causes the animation to stutter when I open the TitleWindow. The repeater is just one part of what's visible in the TitleWindow, what I would like to do is have the repeater load after the rest of the content in the TitleWindow so the animation of the TitleWindow being opened doesn't stutter (the main problem). Can anyone suggest what the best way to achieve that might be? Thanks, Chris

  • How to paste text from one app to another using Cocoa?

    - by Navi Sidhu
I have read about NSPasteBoard in the Apple documentation, and how it allows for applications to write into the PasteBoard and allow other applications to read that text and use it. Could someone tell me how to paste text from am application (that sits in the status bar) into a NSTextField that is inside a different application. What I am trying to do is something similar what Snippet and SnippetsApp do. If I am completely stupid and missed the obvious in Apple Docs, could you please point me to the right path :) Thanks!

  • Passing a ManagedObjectContext to a second view

    - by amo
I'm writing my first iPhone/Cocoa app. It has two table views inside a navigation view. When you touch a row in the first table view, you are taken to the second table view. I would like the second view to display records from the CoreData entities related to the row you touched in the first view. I have the CoreData data showing up fine in the first table view. You can touch a row and go to the second table view. I'm able to pass info from the selected object from the first to the second view. But I cannot get the second view to do its own CoreData fetching. For the life of me I cannot get the managedObjectContext object to pass to the second view controller. I don't want to do the lookups in the first view and pass a dictionary because I want to be able to use a search field to refine results in the second view, as well as insert new entries to the CoreData data from there. Here's the function that transitions from the first to the second view. - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { // Navigation logic may go here -- for example, create and push another view controller. NSManagedObject *selectedObject = [[self fetchedResultsController] objectAtIndexPath:indexPath]; SecondViewController *secondViewController = [[SecondViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"SecondView" bundle:nil]; secondViewController.tName = [[selectedObject valueForKey:@"name"] description]; secondViewController.managedObjectContext = [self managedObjectContext]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:secondViewController animated:YES]; [secondViewController release]; } And this is the function inside SecondViewController that crashes: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; self.title = tName; NSError *error; if (![[self fetchedResultsController] performFetch:&error]) { // <-- crashes here // Handle the error... } } - (NSFetchedResultsController *)fetchedResultsController { if (fetchedResultsController != nil) { return fetchedResultsController; } /* Set up the fetched results controller. */ // Create the fetch request for the entity. NSFetchRequest *fetchRequest = [[NSFetchRequest alloc] init]; // Edit the entity name as appropriate. // **** crashes on the next line because managedObjectContext == 0x0 NSEntityDescription *entity = [NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"SecondEntity" inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]; [fetchRequest setEntity:entity]; // <snip> ... more code here from Apple template, never gets executed because of the crashing return fetchedResultsController; } Any ideas on what I am doing wrong here? managedObjectContext is a retained property. UPDATE: I inserted a NSLog([[managedObjectContext registeredObjects] description]); in viewDidLoad and it appears managedObjectContext is being passed just fine. Still crashing, though. Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: '+entityForName: could not locate an NSManagedObjectModel for entity name 'SecondEntity''
