    I have an application creating a bunch of divs through a loop. Each div has the class "product" so it looks like <div class="product"> !.....stuff here ....! <div class="show_on_hover">...buttons here... </div> </div> so there are about 12 of these same divs per page. I would like to hover over a specific one and show the specific "show_on_hover" div which is initially set to display:none. $('.product').hover(function() { $(.show_on_hover).show(); }, function () { $(.show_on_hover).hide(); } ); That is what I have so far but it will show ALL of the .show_on_hovers on the page so I am wondering how to get only the specific one you have moused over to show. This effect is seen on youtube when you mouseover any of the comments, and some comment tools pop up. Thanks!

    Hello all, I would like to set an attribute for a div. I have done this: $('#row-img_1').onmouseover = function (){ alert('foo'); }; $('#row-img_2').onmouseout = function (){ alert('foo2'); }; However, the above has not worked, it does not alert when mouse is over or when it moves out. I have also tried the $('#row-img_1').attr(); and I could not get this to work either. I am aware that I should be using a more effective event handling system but my divs are dynamically generated. Plus this is a small project. ;) Thanks all for any help.

    I have basically this on a page: <script type="text/javascript"> function refresh_context() { $("#ajax-context").html("Searching..."); $.get("/ajax/ldap_search.php", {cn: $("#username").val()}, function(xml) { $("#ajax-context").html($("display", xml).text()); $("#context").val($("context", xml).text()); }, 'xml'); } $(document).ready(function() { $("#username").blur(refresh_context); }); </script> <input type="text" name="username" id="username" maxlength="255" value="" /> <input type="hidden" name="context" id="context" value=""/> <div id="ajax-context"></div> What it should do (and does fine on Firefox) is when you type a username in to the #username field, it will run /ajax/ldap_search.php?cn=$username, which searches our company's ldap for the username and returns it's raw context and a formatted version of the context like this: <result> <display>Staff -&gt; Accounting -&gt; John Smith</display> <context>cn=jsmith,ou=Accounting,ou=Staff,ou=Users,o=MyOrg</context> </result> The formatted version (display) goes to the div #ajax-context and goes to the hidden input #context. (Also, the - are actually - "& g t ;" (without spaces)). However, on IE the div stays stuck on "Searching..." and the hidden input value stays blank. I've tried both .get and .post and neither work. I'm sure it's failing on the .get because if I try this, I don't even get the alert: $.get("/ajax/ldap_search.php", {cn: $("#username").val()}, function() { alert("Check"); }); Also, IE doesn't give me any script errors. Edit: Added "$(document).ready(function() {", the .blur was already in it in my code, but I forgot to include that in my post. I'm trying to write a function where any time a checkbox is selected, it generates a string with all the names concatenated. Here's what I have so far: $('.filter').click(function(event){ var filters = $('.filter').toArray(); var fstr = ""; for (f in filters) { fstr = fstr+","+f.name; } alert(fstr); }); The names keep coming up as 'undefined', though (i.e. the alert returns ,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined).   • Add in integer to returned value with jQuery

    I have a page with a div id="videoFrame" that holds the video tag. The videos have variable heights so I have a function to grab the height value and plug it into the css of the div id="videoFrame like so: var videoHeight = $('video').attr('height'); $('#videoFrame').css('height',videoHeight+'px'); This works great. But here's the part driving me crazy. I have a p tag with disclaimers at the bottom of the div id="videoFrame". So I would like to add an additional 26px to the returned height. I tried: var videoHeight = $('video').attr('height'); var frameHeight = videoHeight + 26; $('#videoFrame').css('height',frameHeight+'px'); But as you would expect it is adding 26 to the end of the returned value. i.e. if returned value is 337 output for var frameHeight is 33726. I can not for the life of me figure out how to do this. Thanks in advance for any help

  • How do I get jquery & mootools to play nice?

    I've been using Mootools 1.2.4 as my JS framework of choice. I've added Checkout by Amazon to one of my pages, and they inject jQuery 1.2.6 into the page and messes up my dollar function (among other things). I have control over Mootools, but not jQuery. I would rather not rewrite my existing code to accomodate jQuery since Checkout by Amazon was an afterthought and plug-in element. Any thoughts or suggestions are recommended. Thanks!

If I'm on that page, I don't want to post a message if the user wont to leaf it without saving it...: if(/containers/.test(document.location.href)){ window.onbeforeunload = function(){ return exit_text; }; } This works fine, except that I if i save the content in the flash plugin. In that case I don't want to show up that message. How can I detect the url within the onbeforeunload method? That way I can descide when to post the method! Thanks Markus

    Hi All, I have a text area field where i need to provide information about the word count when the user enters some text in the field. Length of the field is supposed to be 500 Characters. Initialy it must show min characters:100 | 0 of 500 // 0 of 500 must be in red color and once the user enters come character need to update the count as well. Once the user reaches the count say the min character 100, i need to display min characters:100 | 100 of 500 // 100 of 500 must be in green color. How can i do this?? is there any plugin for the same??? let me know your thoughts on this.
