  • OJB / Oracle XE sql debug-display problem

    Hello, I have a Java application, and use OJB as my ORM technology. I have an Oracle XE installation locally to develop against. The problem is when I need to debug a problem, I like looking at the SQL output. Here is an example of SQL I can view through the "Top SQL" interface in Oracle XE: select a_bunch_of_fields from KREW_DOC_TYP_T A0 WHERE ((UPPER(A0.DOC_TYP_NM) LIKE :1) AND A0.ACTV_IND = :2) AND A0.CUR_IND = :3 The problem is I would like to see the real value instead of ":1". I can't seem to find how I can configure this. I know the real values are working, because the application is responding as expected, for the most part (hence the bugs I am working on). Thanks, Jay

    Hey, In order to avoid spamming, I would like to add a waiting time to re-submit a form (i.e. the user should wait a few seconds to submit the form, except the first time that this form is submitted). To do that, I added a timestamp to my form (and a security_hash field containing the timestamp plus the settings.SECRET_KEY which ensures that the timestamp is not fiddled with). This look like: class MyForm(forms.Form): timestamp = forms.IntegerField(widget=forms.HiddenInput) security_hash = forms.CharField(min_length=40, max_length=40, widget=forms.HiddenInput) # + some other fields.. # + methods to build the hash and to clean the timestamp... # (it is based on django.contrib.comments.forms.CommentSecurityForm) def clean_timestamp(self): """Make sure the delay is over (5 seconds).""" ts = self.cleaned_data["timestamp"] if not time.time() - ts > 5: raise forms.ValidationError("Timestamp check failed") return ts # etc...     I am using ACTION_MY_PACKAGE_REPLACED to receive when my app is updated or resinstalled. My problem is that the event is never triggered (I tried Eclipse and real device).   • Preventing Netbeans JAXB generation trashing classes

    I'm developing a SOAP service using JAX-WS and JAXB under Netbeans 6.8, and getting a little frustrated with Netbeans trashing my work every time the XSD schema my JAXB bindings are based upon changes. To elaborate, the IDE automatically generates classes bound to the schema, which can then be (un)marshalled from/to XML using JAXB. To these classes I've added extra methods to (for example) convert to and from separate classes designed to be persisted to database with JPA. The problem is that whenever the schema changes and I rebuild, these classes are regenerated, and all my custom methods are deleted. I can manually replace them by copy-pasting from a backup file, but that is rather time-consuming and tedious. As I'm using an iterative design approach, the schema is changing rather frequently and I'm wasting an awful lot of time whenever it does, simply to reinstate my previous code. While the IDE automatically regenerating the JAXB-bound classes is entirely reasonable and I don't mean to imply otherwise, I was wondering if anyone had any bright ideas as to how to prevent my extra work having to be manually reinstated every time my schema changes?

  • UIImageView is resizing

    I have an issue with uiimageviews resizing at run time. On one view I have more than a dozen uiimageviews contained within a uiscrollview. The images are assigned at design time. The uiimageview's are all the same size. The mode is set to Aspect Fill for all uiimageviews. At run time the images appear correctly in the view. On a second view I have only 9 uiimageviews. These uiimageviews will display up to nine of the images selected from the first view. There are three images across and three images down. The uiimageview at design time is the same size as on the first view. The uiimageview image is assigned an image that is loaded into an array. All the uiimageviews are sized the same and they also have the mode set to Aspect Fill. The images are assigned at run time using image1.image = xxx. Where xxx is an image stored in an array. However, on this second view, the images are not all the same size. The height of the image changes dynamically. The same image displayed in a different uiimageview on the view will be different sizes. It is the height of the uiimageview that changes. In some cases the image will fill the uiimageview differently. It is like the mode changes dynamically. I've tried using different modes and nothing changes. Any ideas on what is happening?

    Hi all, I'm stuck on a MDX query, I'm trying to retrieve the following results: [Time].[2009] [Time].[2010] [Time].[Months].Members [Measures].[Sales] [Measures].[Sales] So I would like to compare the sales which were in 2009 against 2010 by month.   • MySQL JDBC date issues with database server in different timezone

    I have a database server in "Europe/London" time zone and my web server in "Europe/Brussels". Since it is summer time now my application server has a 2 hour difference. I created a test to reproduce my issue: Query q = JPA.em().createNativeQuery("SELECT UNIX_TIMESTAMP(startDateTime) FROM `Event` WHERE `id` =574"); BigInteger unix = (BigInteger) q.getSingleResult(); System.out.println(unix + "000 UNIX_TIMESTAMP to BigInteger"); Query q2 = JPA.em().createNativeQuery("SELECT startDateTime FROM `Event` WHERE `id` =574"); Timestamp o = (Timestamp) q2.getSingleResult(); System.out.println(o.getTime() + " Timestamp"); The startDateTime column is defined as 'datetime' (but same issue with 'timestamp') The output I am getting is this: 1340291591000 UNIX_TIMESTAMP to BigInteger 1340284391000 Timestamp Reading java date objects results in a shift in time zone, how do I fix this? I would expect the jdbc driver to just set the "unix time" value it gets from the server in the Date object. (a proper solution should work with any timezone combination, not only for db in GMT)

    Most software houses I have been at have this attitude about their work. Get it done quick and move on. For programmers I find that the chill time is time that can be used to either improve infrastructure, refactor some old code or learn a new language. I would like to know what your throughts about 'chill time' if its the right attitude at all, and if so what to do with it. Is this sort of chilling helpful for a programmer, what are things you do with your own chill time if you adopt this approach to work.

  • Initializing PHP class property declarations with simple expressions yields syntax error

    According to the PHP docs, one can initialize properties in classes with the following restriction: "This declaration may include an initialization, but this initialization must be a constant value--that is, it must be able to be evaluated at compile time and must not depend on run-time information in order to be evaluated." I'm trying to initialize an array and having some issues. While this works fine: public $var = array( 1 => 4, 2 => 5, ); This creates a syntax error: public $var = array( 1 => 4, 2 => (4+1), ); Even this isn't accepted: public $var = 4+1; which suggests it's not a limitation of the array() language construct. Now, the last time I checked, "4+1" equated to a constant value that not only should be accepted, but should in fact be optimized away. In any case, it's certainly able to be evaluated at compile-time. So what's going on here? Is the limitation really along the lines of "cannot be any calculated expression at all", versus any expression "able to be evaluated at compile time"? The use of "evaluated" in the doc's language suggests that simple calculations are permitted, but alas.... If this is a bug in PHP, does anyone have a bug ID? I tried to find one but didn't have any luck.

This boils down to taking a string and counting the number of times that the letter 'G' or 'C' appears. I also want to specify the range of characters to consider. I have a working function that is fairly slow, and it's causing a bottleneck in my code.   • iPhone: detect "touch-and-drag" gesture from UIBarButtonItem?

    I have an "add" button that's represented by a UIBarButtonItem. Hitting the "add" button adds an object into a list that represents a moment in time. By default, that time is "now"...but I'd like to be able to use dragging behavior to let the user specify earlier times for the object. Here's the behavior I want to implement: If the user touches on the UIBarButtonItem and lets go quickly, an object is added to the list that represents "now." If the user touches on the UIBarButtonItem and drags, a little UI pops up that shows the time that the distance of their drag represents. The further they drag, the further back in time their touch will represent. When they let go, the object representing an earlier time will get added to the list. (Though the description of the behavior is complicated, I'm convinced this will be pretty intuitive for users of the app.) I haven't implemented code for anything but the most simple touches in the past, and I'm at a loss as to the best way to try this. Does anyone have any suggestions, or could point me towards some sample code that implements something like this? Thanks very much.

  • Is there a compression method for compressing a group of very similar files, without archiving them?

    I want to compress a large nuber of files that have near identical headers, and also some data, however I do not wish to archive them, nor do I wish to zip them individually(because the copression ratio would be much higher if substitutions of similar blocks could be done using a single table). Does a compression method exist to do this already, or should I implement it myself. Note: Don't say "Disk space is cheap", because I may want to use this on an embedded system.

    Hi, i have little dilemma, i often use data-bound controls such as Gridview in conjunction with ObjectDataSource. But i have two possible options when can i bind data to Gridview. The first is that i set datasourceid of gridview in aspx file and databind occurs in a moment before PreRender event occurs or i can set datasource in Page_Load event and databinding occurs immediately, something like this: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!IsPostBack) { testGridView.DataSource = testObjectDataSource.Select(); testGridView.DataBind(); } } I think that in second approach i have more control above databinding. But how it is in real programming life? Which of the above two options is commonly used? Or is there some third option how can i bind data to data-bound control?     I am no professional PHP coder or anything, in fact I am fairly new. I can develop sites but nothing too crazy or fancy with PHP,Mysql,CSS,HTML,javascript. Up to now, all I have been doing is practice coding from books and websites. I am now looking for a 'real-life' experience. Besides going to a company and getting an interview, are there any other options in which I can get paid to code? I have posted some ads on craiglists but that's about it. And because this is my first time going to the 'real-word' and can make mistakes, am I liable if...a site I made for someone gets hacked and that person losses information?

  • Git pull error: unable to create temporary sha1 filename

    Hi everyone, I've got a small git repo setup with the only real purpose to be able to develop locally on several machines (work, home, laptop). Thus I have one branch and I commit/push once I leave a computer, pull once I sit down at the next. Has worked fine, up to now that is. Now when I pull on my 'live test' machine, I get the following: remote: Counting objects: 38, done. remote: Compressiremote: ng objects: 100% (20/20), done. remote: Total 20 (delta 17), reused 0 (delta 0) error: unable to create temporary sha1 filename .git/objects/ed: File exists fatal: failed to write object fatal: unpack-objects failed Searching around the net the only real answer I could find was the following: http://marc.info/?l=git&m=122720741928774&w=2 which basically states that this is a bogus error that's on top of the pile and thus says nothing about what really is wrong. Where do I go from here to find out what is wrong? Edit: Removed the local copy and re-cloned
