  • [PHP] Local/Dev/Live deployment - best workflow

    Hello, situation We our little company with 3 people, each has a localhost webserver and most projects (previous and current) are on one PC network shared disk. We have virtual server, where some of our clients' sites and our site. Our standard workflow is: Coder PC ? Programmer localhost ? dev domain (client.company.com) ? live version (client.com) It often happens, that there are two or three guys working on same projects at the same time - one is on dev version, two are on localhost. When finished, we try to synchronize the files on dev version and ideally not to mess up any files, which *knock knock * doesn't happen often. And then one of us deploys dev version on live webserver. question we are looking for a way to simplify this workflow while updating websites - ideally some sort of diff uploader or VCS probably (Git/SVN/VCS/...), but we are not completely sure where to begin or what way would be ideal, therefore I ask you, fellow stackoverflowers for your experience with website / application deployment and recommended workflow. We probably will also need to use Mac in process, so if it won't be a problem, that would be even better. Thank you

    I have solved this problem, I just need to know what to do. I get the above error because I just realised that the class is being run as class::function($values) instead of class-function($values).   • PHP - Using strcpsn() to protect against SQL injection?

    I am making a sort of form validation system and I need to check the SQL database to see if the username is already there. So, my question, is it effective to use a little if statement like this to protect against an attack? if (strcspn($string, "/\?!@#$%^&*()[]{}|:;<>,.\"\'-+=" == strlen($string)){ return true; } So essentially, if the string contains any of these characters, "/\?!@#$%^&*()[]{}|:;<>,.\"\'-+=", then the length will not equal that of the original $string. I am just wondering if this is sufficient to protect, or if there is more that I must do. Thanks.

  • PHP: csv generator creates extra field

    I'm coding a script that takes one csv file to transform it into another one. Basically, two foreach loops are used: one to iterate records and another to iterate fields. Certain fields (cno 25, 26, 44) for each record needs to be modified. The problem is that each modificatino creates an extra empty field, i.e. the code $colStr .= '"' . $col . So: i currently have an array i want to people to use the array without having to get it from the API There are no needs for efficiency etc here, this isnt for an actual site just for getting some sanitizing/formatting methods made etc is there a function like store_array() restore_arrray() ?!

    I have my blog generate a preview by taking the first 300 characters and cut off the last whole word. My problem is, when I have a list near the top of the blog it is sometimes included in the preview, however the end list tag usually never is. So how can I check the $preview variable for a starting list tag, and if it is found, check for an ending tag and if it's not there add one.     Hi, I'm new to doctrine: I have a problem with the sorting of joined records. A sample. I've got an Article model which is associated with a Source model in 1 <- n. The source model has a property called 'position' with an integer value. Now I want to fetch an article with it's sources orderes by the position. My DQL looks like this: $q = Doctrine_Query::create() ->select('a.title, s.content') ->from('Article a') ->leftJoin('a.Source s') ->where('a.id = ?') ->orderBy('s.position'); The result doesn't change if I edit the position.   • Slick PHP based image manager for managing user profile images

    Hi, I'm just throwing this out there as I'm plodding my way through creating a Member Photo album on a site i'm working on, where they can login and upload their photos to a personal gallery. I want this to be nice and lightweight, but still slick and "modern" with a modal based interface for the user. I'm surprised though that there is seemingly nothing open source out there which fits the bill - I've done a few searches on Google to no avail and can't seem to find anything. Lots of bloated photo galleries out there but nothing looks like it has been developed using more recent technologies. Is anyone aware of anything which might suit what I'm looking for? I'm fully prepared to try and code it myself but I'd be delighted if I didn't have to! Pure laziness you might say, but there's no point reinventing the wheel.

    I am trying to query a bittorrent tracker and am using unpack to get the list of IPs from the response. So, something like this: $ip = unpack("N", $peers); $ip_add = ($ip[1]>>24) . "." . (($ip[1]&0x00FF0000)>>16) . "." . (($ip[1]&0x0000FF00)>>8) . "." . ($ip[1]&0x000000FF); But, for some reason, I am getting the following IP addresses when I print $ip_add: 117.254.136.66 121.219.20.250 -43.7.52.163 Does anyone know what could be going wrong?

    I am trying to scrape a suppliers magento site in an effort to save some time because of there being around 2000 products I need to gather info for. I'm totally OK with writing a screen scraper for pretty much anything but i've encountered a major problem. Im using get_file_contentsto gather the html of the product page. The problem is: You need to be logged in, to view the product page. Its a standard magento login, so how can I get round this in my screen scraper? I don't require a full script, just advice on a method. Thanks

    I am attempting to split strings like the following: An item (Item A) which may contain 89798 numbers and letters @ $550.00 4 of Item B @ $420.00 476584 of Item C, with a larger quantity and different currency symbol @ £420.00 into: array( 0 => 1 1 => "some item which may contain 89798 numbers and letters" 2 => $550.00 ); does that make sense? I am looking for a regex pattern which will split the quantity, description, and price (including symbol). the strings will always be: qty x description @ price+symbol so i assume the regex would be something like: `(match a number and only a number) x (get description letters and numbers before the @ symbol) @ (match the currency symbol and price)` How should I approach this?

  • Associating multiple MySQL queries w/ PHP?

    I am trying to create a simple inventory request system. A user can enter multiple SKU's that will query the inventory database. My problem is I am trying to do is associate these multiple queries into a type of list. This list can later be retrieved and contains all queries that were submitted simultaneously. When the list is filled it can then be deleted. Is this possible? I am just looking to be pointed in the right direction. Thanks

  • Handling large datasets with PHP/Drupal

    Hi all, I have a report page that deals with ~700k records from a database table. I can display this on a webpage using paging to break up the results. However, my export to PDF/CSV functions rely on processing the entire data set at once and I'm hitting my 256MB memory limit at around 250k rows. I don't feel comfortable increasing the memory limit and I haven't got the ability to use MySQL's save into outfile to just serve a pre-generated CSV. However, I can't really see a way of serving up large data sets with Drupal using something like: $form = array(); $table_headers = array(); $table_rows = array(); $data = db_query("a query to get the whole dataset"); while ($row = db_fetch_object($data)) { $table_rows[] = $row->some attribute; } $form['report'] = array('#value' => theme('table', $table_headers, $table_rows); return $form; Is there a way of getting around what is essentially appending to a giant array of arrays? At the moment I don't see how I can offer any meaningful report pages with Drupal due to this. Thanks
