  Hey guys, new programmer here. I have an assignment for class and I'm stuck... What I need to do is a create a GUI that gives someone a basic arithmetic problem in one box, asks the person to answer it, evaluates it, and tells you if you're right or wrong... • Php is stripping one letter "g" from my rtrim function but not other chars

  I'm trying to trim some youtube URLs that I am reading in from a playlist. The first 3 work fine and all their URLs either end in caps or numbers but this one that ends in a lower case g is getting trimmed one character shorter than the rest. for ($z=0; $z <= 3; $z++) { $ythref2 = rtrim($tubeArray["feed"]["entry"][$z]["link"][0]["href"], '&feature=youtube_gdata'); The URL is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuE88oVCVjg&feature=youtube_gdata .. and it should get trimmed down to .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuE88oVCVjg but instead it is coming out as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuE88oVCVj. I think it may be the ampersand symbol but I am not sure.

  I have a third-party (Win32) DLL, written in C, that exposes the following interface: DLL_EXPORT typedef enum { DEVICE_PCI = 1, DEVICE_USB = 2 } DeviceType; DLL_EXPORT int DeviceStatus(DeviceType kind); I wish to call it from Delphi. How do I get access to the DeviceType constants in my Delphi code? Or, if I should just use the values 1 and 2 directly, what Delphi type should I use for the "DeviceType kind" parameters? Integer? Word?

  I'm, by no means, JS fluent, so forgive me if im asking for some really basic stuff, but I've not being able to find a proper answer to my question. Im writting my first Node.js (plus Extra Framework and Socket.io) app and Im having some fun setting up the server side of a FB-like messenger (surprise!!!). So, let's say I have this data structure to store online users(This is a JSON Array, but I'm not sure it is the best way to do it or should I go with Javascript Objects): [ { "site": 45, "users": [ { "idUser": 5, "idSocket": "qwe87r7w8qwe", "name": "Carlos Ray Norris" }, { "idUser": 6, "idSocket": "v8d9d0fgfs7d", "name": "John Connor" } ] }, { "site": 48, "users": [ { "idUser": 22, "idSocket": "qwe87r7w8qwe", "name": "David Bowie" }, { "idUser": 23, "idSocket": "v8d9d0fgfs7d", "name": "Barack H. Obama" } ] } ] What I want to do is to search in the array for x value given y. In this case, retrieving the idSocket knowing the idUser WITHOUT having to run through the array values. So I have basically 2 questions: first, what would be the proper way to store users online? and secondly, how to find values matching with the values I already know (find the idSocket that has a given idUser). I would like a pure JS approach(or using some of the tools given by Node, Socket.io or Express), but if that's not possible then I can look for some JQuery.

  I am in the process of designing a system where i need to keep on trying to connect to MQ server unitl i get a connection. By default if the MQ is not availlble it will thorugh exception. How can call the same method again and again until i get the connection. I know i can use recursion, is there any better way to do it . Becuase i would like to avoid infinite loops. I also want to wait the the furthere processing until i get connection. I am using .net 2.0 with C#. It is window Service application.

  If I have a notebook with three spreadsheet widgets, what is the best way to have changes to the spreadsheet update a dictionary (or maybe an sqlite file?). Do all wx grid objects come with a built in dictionary related to the SetNumberRows and SetNumberCols? I'm wondering for something like this should I be using fork()? If so, what logic can I use to ensure that the I maintain 5 children at a time?

  I wonder if such a thing is possible or even exist : In the MVC pattern, I would like to have the Model part to be persistant in memory, instead of reloading my instances at each execution. So I want only the Controller and View part to be executed. Is there any solution of server that would provide PHP objects (just like a Mysql server provides data records), and that keeps these objects in memory ? A problem would be also : how to have a constructed query to get objects ? Maybe PHP Linq ?

• Memorystream and Large Object Heap

  I have to transfer large files between computers on via unreliable connections using WCF. Because I want to be able to resume the file and I don't want to be limited in my filesize by WCF, I am chunking the files into 1MB pieces. These "chunk" are transported as stream. Which works quite nice, so far. My steps are: open filestream read chunk from file into byet[] and create memorystream transfer chunk back to 2. until the whole file is sent My problem is in step 2. I assume that when I create a memory stream from a byte array, it will end up on the LOH and ultimately cause an outofmemory exception. I could not actually create this error, maybe I am wrong in my assumption. Now, I don't want to send the byte[] in the message, as WCF will tell me the array size is too big. I can change the max allowed array size and/or the size of my chunk, but I hope there is another solution. My actual question(s): Will my current solution create objects on the LOH and will that cause me problem? Is there a better way to solve this? Btw.: On the receiving side I simple read smaller chunks from the arriving stream and write them directly into the file, so no large byte arrays involved.

Core.dll Has common interfaces Shell.exe Loads all modules in assembly folder. References Core.dll ModuleA.dll Exports Name, Version of module. References Core.dll Shell.exe has a [Export] that contains an single instance of a third party application that I need to inject into all loaded modules. In ModuleA I have a class like this: [Export(IModule)] class Module : IModule { [Import(ThirdPartyApp)] public ThirdPartyApp Instance {get;set;} } I know I'm half way there I just don't know how to put it all together, mainly with loading up test with a instance of map from Main.   I've got an application that keeps track of (for the sake of an example) what drinks are available at a given restaurant. My domain model looks like: class Restaurant { public IEnumerable<RestaurantDrink> GetRestaurantDrinks() { ... } //other various properties } class RestaurantDrink { public Restaurant Restaurant { get; set; } public Drink { get; set; } public string DrinkVariety { get; set; } //"fountain drink", "bottled", etc. //other various properties } class Drink { public string Name { get; set; } public string Manufacturer { get; set; } //other various properties } My db schema is (I hope) about what you'd expect; "RestaurantDrinks" is essentially a mapping table between Restaurants and Drinks with some extra properties (like "DrinkVariety" tacked on). Using Fluent NHibernate to set up mappings, I've set up a "HasMany" relationship from Restaurants to RestaurantDrinks that causes the latter to be deleted when its parent Restaurant is deleted. My question is, given that "Drink" does not have any property on it that explicitly references RestaurantDrinks (the relationship only exists in the underlying database), can I set up a mapping that will cause RestaurantDrinks to be deleted if their associated Drink is deleted?

• How can i see if dealloc is being called on a uikit object, or any object not created by myself

  I think i have an UIImage that has a higher retain count than it should have and i am probably leaking memory. I use this image as a thumbnail, to set a custom background to a uibutton. So the uibutton is holding a reference to it and so do i. But instead of 2, the retainCount is 3. Do i have to create a custom UIImage derived class and override dealloc if I want to place a log message there and then change the class used from UIImage to my class, or is there an easier way. • SSRS Multilookup Function for Names with Comma Separation

  I would like to put the following in a a multilookup drop-down in reporting services: "Smith, John", "Jones, Tim", "Kelly, Andy" The comma separating the first and last name prevents the multilookup from working correctly. I am also unable to use ticks (' or ") in reporting service to keep the separating comma from working like a multilookup comma that separates the fields I want to select from. Is there a way to keep the comma in the names while still allowing multilookup? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

• how to insert the correct activex object in a MFC dialog

  More exactly, the web browser control. In a WM6 dialog based MFC project. This is driving me nuts. Mr Google does not know a thing on this matter. I have tried embedding the "Microsoft Webbrowser Control" in my dialog box but at runtime I get some class not register error. I have heard that this happens because "Microsoft Webbrowser Control" is the windows desktop control, not the windows mobile one. Otherwise, I find it quite hard to believe that this control is really not registered even on the emulator (if it really wasn't registered, PIE would not start). Anybody used the webbrowser engine in a WM(6) MFC applications ? Even a CLSID would help... Thank you
