I receive the following exception when attempting to load an XML file... XmlDocument xmlDoc = new XmlDocument(); xmlDoc.LoadXml(record); Reference to undeclared entity 'eacute'. I was able to track down the proper ent file here. How do I tell XmlDocument to use this ent file when loading my XML file?

• Loading remote assembly from the webservice with reflection

  I am using Assembly.LoadFrom within a web service to load assemblies from a web site. but the problem is it is in the virutal directory and the server.mappath parses the url like \share\mydll.dll and loadform method failed. Is there anyway to reference dll from the remote location? I've tried passing the url (http:\localhost\downloadable\mydll.dll) and again it got "Could not load file or assembly 'http:\localhost\downloadable\mydll.dll' or one of its dependencies. HTTP download of assemblies has been disabled for this appdomain. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131048)"

• Is it possible to utilize internal methods on controllers to reduce duplication?

  in a partial view I have the following: <%Html.RenderAction(MVC.User.GetComments(Model.UserGroupName)); %> can I render a Controller's PartialViewResult in a View without going through routing so I can pass arguments directly from the model so that the arguments I'm passing to the controller never get sent to the user or seen by the user? Currently the method I'm showing at the top throws an exception because no overload is public. I've got it marked as internal so that a user can not access it, only the rendering engine was my intent.

  My Python Interpreter (v2.6.5) raises the above error in the following codepart: fd = open("some_filename", "r") fd.seek(-2, os.SEEK_END) #same happens if you exchange the second arg. w/ 2 data=fd.read(2); last call is fd.seek() Traceback (most recent call last): File "bot.py", line 250, in <module> fd.seek(iterator, os.SEEK_END); IOError: [Errno 22] Invalid argument The strange thing with this is that the exception occurs just when executing my entire code, not if only the specific part with the file opening. At the runtime of this part of code, the opened file definitely exists, disk is not full, the variable "iterator" contains a correct value like in the first codeblock. What could be my mistake? Casting an Object to a generic type (say, K) does not throw a ClassCastException even if the object is not an instance of K. • Iterator blocks in Clojure?

  I am using clojure.contrib.sql to fetch some records from an SQLite database. (defn read-all-foo [] (with-connection *db* (with-query-results res ["select * from foo"] (into [] res)))) Now, I don't really want to realize the whole sequence before returning from the function (i.e. I want to keep it lazy), but if I return res directly or wrap it some kind of lazy wrapper (for example I want to make a certain map transformation on result sequence), SQL-related bindings will be reset and connection will be closed after I return, so realizing the sequence will throw an exception. How can I enclose the whole function in a closure and return a kind of iterator block (like yield in C# or Python)? Or is there another way to return a lazy sequence from this function?

I can't determine where the UndeclaredThrowableException is coming from. • Returning a JSON view in combination with a boolean

  What i would like to accomplish is that a partiel view contains a form. This form is posted using JQuery $.post. After a successfull post javascript picks up the result and uses JQuery's html() method to fill a container with the result. However now I don't want to return the Partial View, but a JSON object containing that partial view and some other object (Success - bool in this case).   We need to render an ActionResult to a string to add pages to our internal search engine index. We settled on this solution to render to string. I've run into a problem with the ExecuteResult call used to process the View. Code Snippet: var oldController = controllerContext.RouteData.Values["controller"]; controllerContext.RouteData.Values["controller"] = typeof(TController).Name.Replace("Controller", ""); viewResult.ExecuteResult(controllerContext); // this line breaks I receive the following error: "Object reference not set to instance of object" error. I've confirmed viewResult is not null, so the exception has to be thrown internally in ExecuteResult. What could we be missing?

Can someone tell me where is the mistake? In advance : the entity reaches the point of update with all the properties correctly set. EF just fails to update the FK in the Database (no exception though)

  Hello, I'am looking for a way to have a webview content selectable in the very same way as the stock browser does. user long presses the text the whole word is selected two pins appear at the word's boundary allowing the user to stretch/shrink the selection. I should note that Dolphin HD shows exactly the same text select functionality as the default browser (same icons, animation, etc), so it really should be possible. But I can't figure out how.   I'm trying to write a custom MarkupExtension that allows me to use my own mechanisms for defining a binding, however when I attempt to return a MultiBinding from my MarkupExtension I get the above exception. I have: <TextBlock Text="{my:CustomMarkup ...}" /> CustomMarkup returns a MultiBinding, but apparently Text doesn't like being set to a MultiBinding. How come it works when I say: <TextBlock> <TextBlock.Text> <MultiBinding ... /> </TextBlock.Text> </TextBlock> But it doesn't work the way I'm doing it?

  After asking this question, it looks like I need to use Ruby's PTY Module, of which there is no documentation. I have written this code to try to push content to Google App Engine because the python command sometimes asks me for my username and password. • Activator.CreateInstance fails in Windows Service

  I have an issue with a Windows Service which throws a NullReference exception whenever I try to use var myType = Activator.CreateInstance(typeof(MyType)) There is no problem whenever I run the exact same code in a console window - and after debugging the obvious "which user is running this code" I doubt that it is a mere fact of changing the user running the service as I've tried to run the service using the computer's Administrator account as well as LocalSystem. I'm suspecting a Windows Update fiddling with default user rights but that's a bit of a desperate guess I feel. Remember: The type and assembly exist and works fine - otherwise I wouldn't be able to run the code in a console window. It is only when running in the context of a Windows Service I get an error. The question is: Can I in any way impersonate i.e. LocalSystem in a unittest by creating a GenericPrincipal (how would that GenericPrincipal look)?

  I wrote a base class to help build my controllers more quickly and to remove duplication. It provides some helper methods, default actions and some meta programming to make these things easier to build. One of those methods in the base class is like this: def dynamicList(Class clazz) { def model = new LinkedHashMap() model[getMapString(clazz) + "s"] = list(clazz) model[getMapString(clazz) + "sTotal"] = count(clazz) model } The action that calls it, also in the base class, is this: def list = { dynamicList(clazz) } Unfortunately, when I go to list action in the controller subclass that inherits the base class when my application is deployed, I get this exception: groovy.lang.MissingMethodException: No signature of method: groovy.lang.MissingMethodException.dynamicList() is applicable for argument types: (java.lang.Class) values: [class project .user.User] at project.user.UserController$_closure1.doCall(UserController.groovy:18) at project.user.UserController$_closure1.doCall(UserController.groovy) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) How can I hit grails over the head and just tell it do what I want it to do? I would really like to be able to attempt to call my web service / db, catch any faults such as a communication failure and then retry the same operation in 1 hours time (after I have logged the exception).
