  Hey, I'm trying to get the GUID of a given sharepoint URL. I don't mind using the API or the webservices or Sharepoint's database. if i were to write a function, it's signature would be: //get a GUID from path. string GetGuidFromPath(string path){} I had a lead: SPContentMapProvider but it doesn't seem to get the right info.   I do have thousands of urls in my database. what I want to do is display all urls in multiple pages say number of URLS per page is 100 and alphabetically then when ever a user search for a URL info it should get updated on relevant page. for example if it is google.com then it should get updated on "G" page and no duplicate entry. how can I do this with PHP and MySQL??

I can't seem to find a good tutorial or documentation on a Blob anywhere. GAE only shows how to deal with images, but I want to read from the stored text file.

• Blackberry with Eclipse - How can I get rid of multiple Debug Servers?

  Each time I choose 'run' it creates a DebugServer (in the debug view). Almost all the context menu options are disabled, including 'Terminate' option. Is there a way to get rid of these without restarting Eclipse (every dozen runs or so)? Thanks, Chris.

• version information stripped from .dll files when copied to prod.

  We have several .net dlls that are being stripped of version information when they are copied to our production environment. The Servers in prod are windows 2008 and we are using robocopy to move the files. It does not always strip the info, but when it does, it errors out the entire site. Any thoughts would be very helpful.

  On a SMP machine we must use spin_lock_irqsave and not spin_lock_irq from interrupt context. Why would we want to save the flags (which contains the IF)? Is there another interrupt routine that could interrupt us? The flags are per CPU?

  I want to render (for internal debugging/info) the last modified date of an assembly, so I know when was a certain website deployed. Is it possible to get it though reflection? I get the version like this, I'm looking for something similar: Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetName().Version.ToString(); ie: I don't want to open the physical file, get its properties, or something like that, as I'll be rendering it in the master page, and don't want that kind of overhead.

  I was attempting to install an exe that requires a serial number before the install, which the vendor has not provided to us yet. This got my wheels turning about whether there is any information that can be gained from viewing an exe using a hex editor/VI/etc? Using VI to view an exe, I can see some sections of plain text, but it is difficult to determine what it refers to without any context around it. Is it possible to determine any information by reading an exe? Thanks

• Does rails do a rollback if I use begin...rescue?

  I'd like to add a begin...rescue block to one of my controllers create method, in order to log better info and construct the correct error message to return to the client. Does the rescue in any way 'interrupt' the rollback process? I'm assuming rails automatically does a rollback. When does it happen? Has it already happened by the time I get in the rescue clause? I'm using mySQL on Dreamhost and I think they use innoDB.

  Does anybody know a tool, preferably for the Explorer context menu, to recursively change the encoding of files in a project from / to UTF-8 and other encodings? Freeware or not too expensive would be great. Edit: Thanks for the answers, +1 for all of them as they are all fine but I am a lazy bastard sometimes, and would really like to be able to just right click a folder and say "convert all .php files to UTF-8". :) Further suggestions are appreciated.

I see a smaller value when querying class size from main() and another when I query class size from an extended class.

  Is it appropriate to create jQuery plugins which are specific to a single page? I've been creating generic plugins that are not tied to any context and contain no business logic, but some people I've talked to suggest that almost all javascript, including business logic and logic specific to a single page, should be inside of jQuery plugins. Is it appropriate to have a validateformXYZ plugin which validates a specific HTML form? I'm buying into jQuery 100% but am not sure if this is a misuse or not.
