    I am using gsub in Ruby to make a word within text bold. I am using a word boundary so as to not make letters within other words bold, but am finding that this ignores words that have a quote after them. For example: text.gsub(/#{word}\b/i, "<b>#{word}</b>") text = "I said, 'look out below'" word = below In this case the word below is not made bold. Is there any way to ignore certain characters along with a word boundary?

The remove process could not remove white spaces from the quoted string like: 'text, "FROM" \'from\\' x' "sample text 'where' \"where\\" " etc. i need to use the PHP function: preg_replace($pattern, $replacement, $string); So what will be the value of $pattern and $replacement where the value of $string is the given SQL.

    Hi guys I have an instance where I have a logo image as part of some artwork.. If a user uploads a new logo I have a form field which is larger than the default logo. I then use that form field to position the new image.   • UITablevViewCellStyle strange behaviour with detailTextLabel

    I have set my UITableViewCellStyle to be Value2, and it shows the detailTextLabel and textLabel, but instead of the detailTextLabel being the small text to the left of the cell, it is now the primary text in the cell, and the textLabel is the small text. Strange behaviour and i'm not sure why? For now i'm just swapping the values over, but I'm pretty sure its not correct. Anyone else experienced this issue? Thanks

  • Not able to see Images with wmd-editor

    I am using wmd editor to enter some text. After entering the text, I am saving it as mark down into the database. While inserting the image, if I save as markdown I am not able to see the image in my aspx page.(Because it down not save image in <img> tab in markdown). If I save the text as html then, I am able to see the image. But another problem with html is, while editing the text I am seeing all tags(such as <code1><p>pre> ) in the wmd-editor.

    A column in my table contains email addresses. I have a text string that contains the a few usernames of email addresses separated by commas. I can make text sting into an array if necessary to get my SELECT WHERE clause to work correctly. Text string search argument is 'bob,sally,steve' I want to produce a WHERE clause that only returns rows where the username portion of the email address in the table matches one of the usernames in my text string search argument. Thus a row with [email protected] would not be returned but [email protected] would be. Does anyone have a WHERE clause sample that produces this result? Thanks.

    Hi, I've created a short text (a word) in photoshop with the blending options I prefer and now it's all done I would like to paste it into my flash project. The problem is I can't get the text to be transparent in the flash, I always see the white background which is not very nice since the background on which the text will show is actually a picture. How to make this text transparent? In photoshop I started a new transparent project. Copying from a .GIF file also doesn't work... Thanks!!

    I have been wondering why when I set the encoding to UTF-8 and rendering the XML it replace the extended characters by escape characters (or character reference) like &#x2019; instead of '?     I have a set of numbers and a table in a database with the id (primary key) and text (not null) columns. I would like to create a query that returns all the numbers in the set and the associated text from the table. Unfortunately not all numbers exist in the database's id column, so this won't work: select id, text from table where id in (<set of numbers>) For the non-existing ids the best would be to return null as the text from the query. Is there a way to produce the desired output without first creating a temporary table from the set inside the database? The database engine in use is a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 SP1 but I'd be interested in any solution with any database engine.

    I'm having a problem displaying data from a function to text box within a tab. If you run the code and click "Select Tab 2 and Fill..." I get an error; "TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference." I'm guessing this is because "Tab 2" is/was not rendered yet. Now if I run the code, select "Tab 2" then select "Tab 1" and click "Select Tab 2 and Fill..." it works the way I would like.   • How can I access and modify objects inside frames with AS3 in a permanent way?

    I have a MovieClip symbol created with flash in a fla file library. There is a textfield in frame one of this movieclip's timeline . There is another frame in the movieclip timeline. There is a custon class definition for this symbol. It is a flipping card in a memory game. I access the textfield by going to frame 2 (gotoAndStop(2)) and setting the textfield's text property ( this.field.text = "hello" ). However if I go to frame 1 and then return to frame 2, the text becomes the original one in the library's symbol. I have to modify the text propery again in a showFace method I've written. Besides, I cannot pass parameters in the constructor because it is a symbol in the library and that would give errors. I find this behaviour of flash extremely weird. Is there a way I can set properties inside frames permanently? Thank you

    I am trying to center a paragraph tag with some text in it within a div, but I can't seem to center it using margin: 0 auto without having to specify a fixed width for the paragraph. I don't want to specify a fixed width, because I will have dynamic text coming into the paragraph tag and it will always be a different width based on how much text it is. Does anyone know how I can center the paragraph tag within the div without having to specify a fixed width for the paragraph or without using tables?
