  • Javascript handling textarea

    Hi all, I'm a bit new to Javascript and am trying to create a delimited string from a textare. The problem is when passing in the textarea, it adds newlines for each row on the textarea. I need to have the entire textarea parsed into a string with a delimiter for each line (replacing the newline char). So for example, if you passed in a textarea with the following lines (which is also how it looks when using the alert function): abcd efgh ijkl It would look like: abcd-efgh-ijkl after parsing. function submitToForm(form) { var param_textarea = form.listofplugins.value; var test = param_textarea.replace(/\\r?\\n/, /:/) alert(test); } Thanks a lot!

  • How do I toggle CSS with jQuery?

    I have the following code: $('#bc' + $.trim($this) + ' span.dashed-circle').css({ 'border' : '5px solid #000'}); That is triggered by a click.function(). I would like that to be a toggle - so when I click the element, it changes the border to what I have above...but when it is clicked again it disappears or rather sets the border to ' '. Thoughts? Edit: I should have been explicit...but I don't want to create a CSS class. The reason being is because when I do that, it messes up the formatting of the element being styled. I am sure that it is some small quirk somewhere that would fix it, but I am not interested in wading through the entire code base to fix little positioning issues with a new class. I would much rather just edit the css attribute directly - because it doesn't interfere with the layout. Edit2: Here is the jsfiddle of the code I am trying to edit. If you notice, I have the CSS attributes last. But how do I let that be toggled ? Edit3: If anyone is interested...the UI that this will be used in is for my webapp - http://www.compversions.com

  • Keep div:hover open when changing nested select box

    This is an IE-only problem. .toolTip becomes visible when it's parent element is :hovered over. Inside of .toolTip is a select box. When the user opens the select box to make a selection, the parent element is being "un-hovered", if you will. To put it another way, when I try to select something from the dropdown, the whole thing hides itself again. I'm sure it has something to do with the way IE interprets the stylesheet, but I don't know what or where.   • European signs in img src problem

    Hey. I recently encountered a strange problem on my website. Images with æ ø and å in them (Western European signs) Won't display. The character encoding on all sites is "Iso-8859-1" I can print æ ø and å on the page without problems. If I right click the "broken image" and choose properties, it displays the filename with the european signs. (/admin/content/galleri/å.jpg) the code for img looks like this <img name='bilde' src='content/{$_SESSION["linkname"]}/{$row["img"]}' class='topmargin_ss leftmargin_ms rightmargin_s' width='80' height='80'> (Wasn't allowed to post images so the code is without starting and ending brackets) Made 4 files: z.jpg æ.jpg ø.jpg å.jpg Only z.jpg shows up, they are the exact same jpg. The images are uploaded using php code, which works, uploads to the right directory and has no problem with the european signs. Does anybody know what could be causing this?

The problem is that the wrapping will break the words from each other or even break the red circle from the link. This makes it hard to differentiate which circle belongs to which link. (In the future, each circle corresponds to a different action with respect to the link.) See below. How do I prevent this kind of wrapping from occurring?

    Is there a way to set the cursor at the end in a TEXTAREA tag? I'm using Firefox 3.6 and I don't need it to work in IE or Chrome. JavaScript is ok but it seems all the related answers in here use onfocus() event, which seems to be useless because when user clicks on anywhere within textarea, Firefox sets cursor position to there. I have a long text to display in a textarea so that it displays the last portion (making it easier to add something at the end).

So far so good, got a custom icon rolling and basic JS navigation laid out, but my problem is that it retains its state when I quit the app. Is there a simple magic Apple meta tag for this?     Hi all Can anyone recommend a good, free link checker to check all pages within a domain? Ideally a browser add-on or a web app (otherwise something that runs on OSX). Crucially it needs to follow links recursively within a domain. Links outside the domain should be followed to a depth of 1, but not checked recursively. This is for the fairly common situation where you want to check all pages on your own site, but not evaluate the links on e.g. Google's homepage. I can't find anything suitable. Am I missing something? I've tried the Firefox LinkChecker add-on and the W3C link validator - neither seem to have the 'follow recursively within a domain' property, or am I being dumb? I know Xenu does this, but I don't run Windows.
