• Any hints for those that want to upgrade from Delphi 7 (and down) to Delphi 2010?

  Hi. After update 4 and 5 I am interested to re-evaluate Delphi 2010. This time I intend to port some of my code (small scale) to see how difficult is to do it at large scale. The main issue seems to be the ascii to unicode conversion. Any tips or resources about this that you have found useful? Many thanks.

  I am working on localization project and when i change the language the UI gets disturbed because some translations are large. For example say there is button with text "Select All". But when this is localized in french it reads as "Sélectionner tout". That is larger than Select All and hence the gui gets affected. Is there any way to localize the gui as well.

  I installed Doxygen 1.6.1. I used \section, \subsection and \subsubsection for titles in C++ sources. I surprisingly obtained titles in which \subsubsection have large font size than for \subsection and \section. How can this be fixed? CSS should be used to workaround this or can I fix my doxygen installation to obtain expected common behavior?

  Suppose that I have two numpy arrays of the form x = [[1,2] [2,4] [3,6] [4,NaN] [5,10]] y = [[0,-5] [1,0] [2,5] [5,20] [6,25]] is there an efficient way to merge them such that I have xmy = [[0, NaN, -5 ] [1, 2, 0 ] [2, 4, 5 ] [3, 6, NaN] [4, NaN, NaN] [5, 10, 20 ] [6, NaN, 25 ] I can implement a simple function using search to find the index but this is not elegant and potentially inefficient for a lot of arrays and large dimensions. Any pointer is appreciated.

My requirements for the random number generator are not very onerous - its not important that it pass a great battery of statistical tests of pure randomness. • Can I prevent IMAP from grabbing files over X mb using PHP?

  I'm building a little script that will connect to an IMAP account and grab the content of the email and also the attachments. It works well for the most part, but when a really large file comes in, it causes the script to time out. Is there any way that I can check the file size before trying to grab it? I think that would be the simplest solution. Otherwise, I may have to upgrade to a server that has more memory.

  Is there a more efficient way than using numpy.asarray() to generate an array from output in the form of a list? This appears to be copying everything in memory, which doesn't seem like it would be that efficient with very large arrays. Log files can get quite large, so I've already tried and ruled out the IO.readlines("log_file.log")[-200..-1] method. Are there any other ways to go about reading a file backwards in Ruby without the need for a plugin or gem?
